Five

'Mom'

Alice look at her son who was sitting on the sofa across her, with paper works in hand.

'What is it?'

'I saw him yesterday'

For a moment Alice stop, putting down her papers.

"Oh I see"

She finally speak up, pushing back her blond locks behind her ear as she pretend to fix her files.

"How.... How did it go?"

"How did it go what?"

Alice and Sky end up looking to the source of voice, as soon as she was her daughter, Cloud standing a couple of steps away, she can feel her blood ran cold, being nervous as ever.

"We're just talking about yesterday, Cloud"

She so glad both of her children didn't inherited that side of her, always in panic when things get out of hand. They always seems to be calm and collected.

Just like their father.

"Oh, I see! I can tell you about it!"

She said, her gray eyes shining in excitement.

And of course, they do have that dense part of him as well.

"Oh really?"

Alice pull her into her lap and embrace her, giving Sky and apology look,

'Let's talk about it later, okay?'

"I'm studying in my room if you want something from me"

Sky stood up from his seat and headed towards his own room

"Big brother always seems like an aloof person, ne mom?"

Alice chuckled at her statement.

"Now, now young lady. That's no way to describe your brother. Okay? And since when did you learn words like that?"

Still chuckling, Alice mess with her blond locks at matches hers.

"I may look dumb but I'm smarter than I look!"

She huff, arms folding on her chest.

Alice gasp at her harsh statement

"Who told you that!"

"Big brother does!"

"I did not!"

Alice laugh as she heard Sky shouting from his room, she can even imagine her own son, hands on his temple as he tried to concentrate form his studies.

She sigh, looking down at her daughter who seems to be telling her something but nothing seems to sink in into her.

Alice wish her son could enjoy his childhood, not like she didn't try bring him out to play with some children at his age, since she doesn't have a problem with Cloud when it comes to communication, she's always been a ray of sunshine.

"Mom?"

That snap Alice out of her thoughts.

"Yes dear?"

"What was dad like?"

Now that caught her mother off guard.

"We--"

"Cloud. You know there's no use knowing a dead person right?"

Ah, of course. Their father was dead to them, to her at least. For Sky already know who his father is.

"Well of course I know that Dad died before mom could even tell him that she was pregnant!"

Cloud defended, holding out a hand on her chest.

Ah yes, she did tell them that. That's all she could think when they asked her where their father was. Nothing hurts more than her own children asking her where their father was, nothing hurts her more than her children looking at complete families with father figures. Nothing hurts more than looking at her twin children crestfallen face asking where their father was. And she can't bare to tell them.

He doesn't even know they exist

For course he deserve to know,

But not when months after their break up,

He was rumored to be dating someone.

And it turns out it was true,

So maybe after all.

She blink, looking at her children who was currently looking at her waiting for her words.

"Well. Your father"

Alice smile, eyes closed to him.

"He was a great person"

He doesn't deserve them.
