The Kiss

'Tachibana?' Hito thought. He found her last name familiar, though he didn't know which Tachibana it was.

"Alright Tachibana-san, when are we going to start?"

Charlotte smiled and replied. "Now. Follow me."

As soon as she said that she went outside the room and the rest of her team followed after her.

Hito looked at Yui, Yukino and Shouko. "You girls wanna come with me and have a look at their club?"

Yukino refused. "No, thank you. I'd rather read my book. If you'll excuse me, then I'll start reading now."

As soon as she said that she opened her book and started to read it, meanwhile, Yui also refused to join.

"Sorry Tadano-san, I'm going to accompany Yukinoshita-san, and won't be going with you."

Then Hito looked at Shouko and she wrote. ( I want to go and take a look! )

He nodded, then he looked at Yukino and spoke. "Then we'll be going now President, Yuigahama-san."

The two of them left after that. Hito and Shouko followed Charlotte along with her team. They went upstairs to the highest floor.

Their club room was in the last corner of the highest floor which was the 4th floor. But of course, the rooftop was an exception since it wasn't considered as a floor.

As they arrived at their club room, Hito and Shouko saw a complete set of band equipment.

Shouko might not be aware of how much this band equipment costs, but Hito was fully aware. He couldn't help but say.

"There's no way the student council would give you such an enormous budget for buying this, which means you guys used your own money, didn't you? How rich are you people?"

One of the band members replied. "No not 'us', only Charlotte-san bought all of the equipment here!"

Hito looked at Charlotte who was searching for something in her bag and asked. "Is your family rich?"

Charlotte replied. "No, not really. Mom only earns 10 million yen a month."

Hearing that Hito, Shouko and the band members smiled wryly at her answer. 10 million a month wasn't considered rich? Then what could be considered as rich to her?!

"Then what about your father?" Hito curiously asked, while he looked around the room.

Hearing that Charlotte froze for a moment, before answering. "He's dead."

The atmosphere turned rather awkward and heavy, and Hito said. "Ah… I'm really sorry, I didn't know about that..."

"No, it's fine. I haven't met my father personally anyway, so I'm not really affected by his death."

Hito sighed and decided not to ask about it anymore. Forgetting about that topic, Charlotte suddenly exclaimed.

"Found it!"

Shouko and Hito curiously looked at Charlotte and he asked. "You found what?"

"Our band's original song!" Charlotte gave Hito the original copy of the song.

Then he started to read it and unconsciously started to hum the lyrics of the song.

While he was humming, the band members and Charlotte stared at him with surprise literally written on their faces! Because he was perfectly humming the notes of the song.

Hito finished reading the original song that Charlotte and her band made. He subconsciously commented about the song with his real thoughts.

"Not bad."

Him saying that this song was not bad was already very good. His Music standards were world class after all, but no one other than him knew about it. Suddenly he realized that he subconsciously blurted out something which could be interpreted as rude coming from him.

"Ah, sorry about that. It's just me speaking nonsense. Don't take it to heart, the song's good."

Charlotte wasn't offended by him. In her opinion their song was top quality, but the casual way Hito said 'Not bad' made her opinion waver.

She felt that Hito was being truthful as he said 'Not Bad' which made her wonder, if her band's top quality song was just 'Not Bad' then what was a good song to him?

She suddenly spoke, as she had the feeling that Hito could improve her band's song. "Can you improve our song?"

Charlotte's band members looked at her with confused expressions. They didn't know what their leader and vocalist was thinking to actually ask Hito to improve their band's first and original song.

As Hito heard Charlotte asking him to improve her band's original song, he replied by instinct. "Can I really change it? Do you really want to improve it? Would you allow me to do it?"

His music skill's instinct was controlling him again. In his mind he was thinking that he couldn't leave these flaws in their original song!

He could improve it further! And the thing which was holding him back was Charlotte's permission to improve the song!

Maybe it was because of his skill that he would have to respect the song writer's wishes about whether they would want him to improve it or not. It was solely their decision and he wasn't able to interfere with their decision.

Charlotte was surprised to see the eager look on Hito's face, she calmed down and replied.

"Yes, you can." As soon as Charlotte gave him her permission, Hito immediately looked at Shouko and asked. "Shouko, mind if I borrow your notebook and pencil?"

Shouko was kind of lost at the sudden turn of events. But she still nodded and gave her notebook and pencil to Hito.

"Thank you." Hito smiled at Shouko as he received the pencil and notebook from her.

Seeing him smiling at her, Shouko blushed a little.

Hito was currently focused on improving the original song that Charlotte and her team made.

He started to improve the song at a rapid pace. They saw him writing hurriedly without any break. He wrote the words and notes seriously and with utmost concentration.

In the view of outsiders, they would think that he was copying something instead of writing a song. But in reality Hito's mind was crazily and accurately thinking of the song's flaws and changing it with more suitable notes and rhymes that would curb the flaws of the song, making it almost perfect.

Not long after, Hito finally finished improving the song and said. "I'm done."

After that he froze and thought 'Again… my instinct took over me! I can hardly stop the urge to improve this song. At this rate I would lose my sense of self because of the effect of the skills.'

Instead of being dumbfounded, Charlotte hurriedly took a look at the improved version of their original song.

As she started to read the song, the more she read the more shocked she became!

Her body started to tremble as she looked at Hito and spoke in a trembling yet clearly excited voice.

"T-this… is this really our song? C-can we r-really have this song?"

Hito smiled wryly at her and replied. "Well, of course you can have it. It's your song to begin with. I just improved it a little."

Unexpectedly, Charlotte suddenly hugged his neck and kissed his left cheek.

"Thank you!" She meant it from the very bottom of her heart.

Well, the notes were originally there to introduce, comedic element to the story and add something new to the novel. Alas! It wasn't appreciated.
