Chapter 66

"Why are you here? With me? In a separate space above DxD."

"Well…" Gaia trailed off.

"We want to join your harem." Death interrupted

"…"

"Eh."

"Eh" [Higher Pitch.]

"EHHHHHHHH!"

///// Shiki's Office /////

"I'm sorry but can you repeat what you said before?"

"We want to join your harem"

"Oh…" Shiki trailed off, "I'm sorry what!?" Shiki doubted, the confusion evident on his face.

Seeing Shiki's bewildered face, Gaia turned to Death" I told you that we shouldn't come on too hard." She chastised

Death turned to her and replied in a mocking tone, "And instead act like shy idiots."

Gaia blushed in embarrassment at the jab, "My plan wasn't that bad."

"It was Gaia. It was." Death said, causing her to blush even more.

"You!"

As they bantered, Shiki watched in shock.

Death noticed this and stopped arguing with Gaia. "I know this may come on as a shock."

'You think?' Shiki snapped in his mind.

"N-no" Shiki blurted out, "I'm just… confused and I can't seem to wrap my head around what is going on right now. However, I refuse."

Death nodded in understanding, "As you should. Still. allow me to apologize for dropping this on you but this was the most efficient method for me. So, let me clear up the confusion."

"My sister and I have been… watching you for a while now and we have seemed to develop a sort of liking towards you."

"However, we are not sure about this feeling, and watching from afar wasn't helping. So we figured that the best way to confirm our possible 'Emotions' was to be around you more as a potential love interest."

"Hence why we want to join your harem."

"Oh, I see… No… I don't see."

Gaia sighed in exasperation "Sigh, Just allow us to be around you as you do your things. We want to confirm whether what we feel is love or familiarity."

"Familiarity?"

"Don't worry about that." Death interrupted. "So, what do you say, we promise not to interfere in your doings."

"Um okay, I guess that's alright." Shiki accepted albeit reluctantly.

"Great!" beamed Death, "We are now your advisors. Use us however you wish."

"Advisors!?"

"Bye! We'll see you tomorrow" Death replied teleporting away with Gaia.

Now alone with his thoughts, Shiki reflected on today's event. 'What have I done?' He thought idly.

'I have to tell Yasaka to prepare her.'

Unfortunately for the rest of the day, he wasn't able to get a hold of her, Matatabi, or Amaterasu. Regardless, it seems that tomorrow will turn out to be an eventful day.

///// The Next Day /////

Shiki walked down the hall with Death and Gaia by his side, earring confused and wary reactions from the caretakers as he did.

"Who are they?" One maid whispered to her colleague.

"Are they our Lord's new wives?"

"Nya, I'm so jealous I want to be my lord's wife too!" A maid daydreamed

Death on his left donned a dress as black as the night sky, it covers her shoulders halfway and flows down into an elegant v-neckline revealing a simple but stylish necklace. Her arms are completely covered by gracefully loose see-through sleeves.

Gaia on his right wore a dress that one would imagine could only be made by fairies. A green dress embroidered with gold leaves the shoulders uncovered but flows into a fancy cowl neckline that shows off a gold ornate necklace and does wonders in emphasizing her bountifulness. The dress reaches well above her ankles slightly longer at the sides and the back of the dress. Underneath it all are cone heels, a strange yet seeming perfect choice.

Shiki himself wore a simple long white robe reaching his sandals. The robe had a design of gold vines on it giving him a regal and elegant look.

Soon the trio reached their destination which was Yasaka's office.

As they entered, they were met with Yasaka staring at them already awaiting their arrival.

Although she had an indifferent look on her face. Shiki could sense confusion, anxiety, sadness, and a healthy dose of anger. Although she hid it quite well it wasn't good enough to fool him.

"*Sigh* So they've told her," Shiki said as his hope of getting here before the information got to Yasaka was dashed.

"Good morning." Shiki opened up with a greeting, 'Nice opener Shiki.' He chastised himself

"Hmm." She greeted back with a hum, creating a tense atmosphere thereafter

'And excellent response.'

"These are my new attendants. Death and Gaia." Shiki informed, attempting to clear the tense atmosphere

He watched as Yasaka's indifferent expression broke as her eyebrows furrowed in confusion

"Don't question it." Shiki finishes

"Alright," Yasaka replies.

"Alright. I'll be heading out now but do me a favor and pass this on to Ama. Also, inform Matatabi that she doesn't need to attend me anymore if she wishes not to."

"Oh…" Yasaka voiced as she glanced at Death and Gaia for a moment before she nodded, "Alright. I'll inform them."

"Great, Also you won't be seeing me much this week."

"Ok," Yasaka replied indifferently

Shiki could only smile helplessly and leave the office with Gaia and Death following after she gave Yasaka a lasting stare.

As the trio left, Yasaka dropped the documents that she pretended to read. She relaxed into the seat and gazed up to the ceiling regretting her actions.

"Sigh, what is wrong with me?" She thought to herself in regret.

After that thought, The door to her office opened and Matatabi walked in with hurried footsteps.

"My lady." She greeted her with a bow.

"How are you Matatabi?" She acknowledged, flinching inside at the message she would now soon pass. 'I'm sorry Mata.' She thought in regret.

///// With Shiki /////

"Interesting." Death muttered.

"What is?" Shiki asked as they walked down the hallway.

"Nothing much, It's just that girl. She seems to hold a certain level of Infatuation for you yet holds herself back from relishing in it. Is that what love is? It kind of reminds me of the indie tv shows that mortals enjoy."

"Are you insinuating that my love life is like a tv show," Shiki asked with a raised eyebrow and a helpless look.

"Indeed." Death answered, "So where are we going now?" She changed the topic.

"I'm thinking of heading to another universe."

"Oh, This world has begun to bore you," Gaia asked.

"Not necessarily but yes."

"So where are you thinking of going?" Gaia asked.

"To the world of my favorite show," Shiki says with a smile as a crack in space emerges into existence which he walks into with Death and Gaia following.
