May Platin was leaning against the window in her English class room, thinking about Zach Quilara again. Zach was a caring boy with big beautiful brown eyes but, sadly, he was also Mays best friend since they were five. May stared at her school grounds through the window. She had always loved the exclusive high school with the cold cherry blossoms just blooming at the start of March. Although May loved this school, it had the tendency to make her feel shy and unimportant because her family had less money than not the other students.
Then she saw something in the the distance, or rather someone. It was the perfect figure of Zach Q, late to class. Again.
May gulped. She stared at her plain reflection in the window. She was pale and freckled with shaggy eyebrows and long brown hair carelessly tossed into a bun. Her few friends see her as shy, clumsy and extremely embarrassing, even if May and Zach were not friends, Zach was way out of her league.
The harsh wind had been blowing all morning and although Zach was strong and broad, even he was struggling in the wind as he walked towards the building. As Zach burst through the classroom doorway the teacher, Mr.M stoped mid lecture to address his tardiness. Zach got off with a warning because he blamed it on the wind. May glanced up and caught Zach staring at Jennifer Shays, a very beautiful and very rich brat that liked to torment May since kindergarten. He causally made his way down the isle of desks to the chair next to Jennifer, but he always sat next to May.
