The Assassins

Sitting in the back of a luxury limousine were four figures relaxing in their plush seats and sipping on blood red wine. Three men who made male models look like the homeless guy down the street and a woman who would steal hearts wherever she went.

All four of them had deep red eyes and fair skin, though it was on the pale side, as well as on all of their chests was a curious little insignia made up of several individual drops of blood that formed the shape of an eye.

Enjoying the classical music that was playing, they continued to waltz in silence as they let the alcohol and music take them away.

The serene state was interrupted by a voice on the intercom, from the driver, who informed them that they were just entering city limits for Occultatum.

The four sighed as the time for enjoyment had ended and the time for work had come at last, finishing their drinks and storing away the bottles and glasses they looked at one another with serious faces.

The woman was the one to speak first, using a commanding tone that betrayed the fact that she was the leader of the group, "We were roused from our territory to come and help the fools that we sent ahead into the Occultatum. The commoner population here is enjoying the fact that we can only move extremely limited resources into the area.

"So our task is simple, take out the leading figures of the meddling commoners and let them descend into chaos. There is also an extra target but he is classified to at least have the strength of a branch head, so we only have to take him on if we get a good opportunity.

"Our main targets are the Chief of Police, Vice Chief of Police, and the Governor of Occultatum. You three boys will go take them out, one a piece, while I will wait to see if there is an opportunity to take out the Rogue known as Bazel Vasa."

The woman reached under her seat for a case, opening it up and showing it off for the three men in the room to look at.

"The profiles and pictures of each of the targets as well as their estimated strength. The Vice Chief and Governor should not be a problem, but the Chief on the other hand...we were not able to dig up much about him but he does seem to be a bit of an odd one.

"He constantly places orders for various weapons of all kinds, conveniently for us one of our Houses' subsidiaries happens to deal in antique weapons and were kind enough to give us the records. Though he is but a commoner in the end, don't make a dumb mistake by thinking he will not be able to retaliate.

"You would not want to ruin your clothes now would you?"

The three men laughed in response, clearly they did not put these people in their eyes.

The woman just rolled her eyes seeing that her warning fell on deaf ears, but she too did not believe the words she was required to say.

"All right settle down boys, this is our first official mission since we were taken into the main family. If we do well we will be allowed to take the red sacrament, so even if you do not think much of them take this seriously...you know what will happen if you cause me to lose this chance, don't you?"

Her beautiful features twisted into a sadistic grin as a red whip was created in her hands. She took pleasure in the looks of fear that she got from her toys, so satisfied that she decided to not whip them...for now at least"

"I am glad that you understand, for the red sacrament is our obstacle. Once we get the chance to experience it....we will be true purebloods of House Sanguis, with enough power and wealth to do as we please wherever we please."

All four had fanatical expressions on as they felt their greed be ignited by the chance that was dangling before their very eyes. All they had to do was step on a few ants and all would be theirs...

All three men placed their right arm crossed over their stomach and saluted,

"We will perform with excellence, Miss Marie."

Marie's look of pleasure faded instantly in the next moment as her sharp hearing detected something.

"Scatter!" commanded Marie as she jumped through the window and out into the night.

Following her orders the three men did as they were commanded and all of them broke through the windows and out into the night as well.

The moment they did a sound like a firework being infinitely lit reached their own ears, as they witnessed several guided missiles smack into their limousine and turn it into molten metal.

The four landed next to one another, with thin red wire surrounding the air around them turning any shrapnel from the explosion into dust as it came into range.

The four's line of sight followed the origin of the attack, and with their vision that was akin to an eagles if they so choose they located several black cars with large men in suits quickly putting away their rockets and trying to flee.

"The mutts huh, looks like our branch is so busy with the commoners that they let these dogs come this far south. Well, how about we empty the kennel?"

With those words Marie dashed forward, with her three men following behind her, gliding along the ground even in her high heels as if it she were skating on ice instead of running alongside the ground.

They quickly caught up with the McGrath men who were just starting their cars and turning around, when the group passed by them and the cars were bisected.

The McGrath men jumped out as this was happening, clearly aware that there was no escape, but still a few of them were chopped in half by the attack and died without ever retaliating.

The two groups faced off against one another, one relaxed and at ease while the other could barely stop themselves from running away in fear.

The opposing eight McGrath men were all the very same as those bodyguards that Bazel and co. had difficulty taking down when they first came to blows with the supernatural yet these very same men were steeped with fear and panic as they looked upon their five enemies despite their numerical superiority.

Marie clicked her tongue in disgust as she looked at the revolting figures of her houses most hated of enemies,

"No elegance whatsoever, just giant slabs of meat that rely on brute force. Not to mention using the weapons of the commoners, what a disgrace towards all the Houses in the world."

The McGrath men did not respond to the mocking remarks, instead they each pulled out the thompson guns that were strapped on their backs.

Letting loose a hail of fire from the astonishingly high fire rate of the weapons, they hoped to overcome the defenses of their enemy just through sheer overpowering fire.

When the last of the drums had been emptied, the men of McGrath shook slightly as their weapons fell from their heads.

Some of them even laughed in self pity, as they saw all of the bullets they had fired littering the ground whilst cut in half.

Still, they were no cowards despite their impending deaths and with their bodies enlarging even more they unsheathed several oversized combat knives or attached brass knuckles to their fists.

Taking their own stances they fanned out, hoping to at least get a hit in with their superior numbers.

The four Sanguis members just laughed, with sadism clear in all of their eyes as they watched the futile actions of their foe.

"What do they call you, soldiers right?" said one of the men in mocking laughter.

"As expected of soldiers, they are stubborn to a fault and head off to die so long as their masters order them" said the second of the three men.

The last of the three men finished with,

"Now, now, let us not be too harsh on them. They are just mutts after all, how could they understand the thought process of superior beings such as us?"

More laughter rang out, even as the lower legs of the McGrath men swelled with power and they charged forth with such force that the ground was imprinted with their footsteps.

Instead of staying back and letting their superior abilities do the work for them, the four Sanguis members charged forth just as the McGrath were doing.

The two sides ended up dashing past the other, but the weapons of the McGrath men dropped from their hands as eight spurts of blood erupted from their chest cavities.

Dropping to the ground were eight corpses, while the Sanguis House members crushed two beating hearts in each of their hands with a cruel smile on their face.

Licking the blood on her hands, Maries nose wrinkled as she flicked her hands clean of the blood.

"Even commoner blood tastes better than these paupers."

Looking back at the burning wreck of their own vehicle and the vehicles they just destroyed Marie pouted cutely and said,

"Guess we have to walk the rest of the way.... come on boys, let's make haste so we can realize our dreams!"

"Yes Mistress!" replied the three men as they bowed deeply, following after their master who had sped off.
