50 years after the end of the world, after the infection nearly wiped us all out.

Life in the dome is easy and safe boring even, but every year the council holds a race, eight teams of four leave only one team returns. 

It's there way of killing off the extra lives, making sure there's enough food and water for everyone inside the dome. 

But what's life like beyond the dome, what's it like to breathe clean air, to see sunlight and feel the rain, what's it like to run for your life as your chased by hundreds of flesh eating zombies.

There's only one way to find out, you must be chosen by the council and entered into the race, who will survive the world beyond the dome?

Beyond the wall

I stand in a room waiting for my name to be called, they've took almost every one back, I don't know what's going on. They will only talk to people one on one, actually I don't even know if it's a they or if it's only one person.


Looks like I'm about to find out what's going on


I walk into a room where I see a middle aged blonde woman 


"Hello Archer, I'm here to explain them race to you."


"Firstly you will only refer to others by there last name, it helps to detach your feelings of guilt if you kill one of them." She looks me dead in the eyes "your on a team, team 8, but if you find yourself with useless or un reliable teammates it's perfectly acceptable to kill one or two of them, or all three if that will help."


I see what there doing, they want us all to turn on one another. 


"There are no rules in the race, only that the first team wins and every one else dies or is exiled from the dome. You will be given weapons, you will be in new and challenging environments, weather and sunlight will be hard to adjust to at first. If you are bitten by an infected your teammates are instructed to kill you and you will do the same to them." She sticks her hand out waiting for me to shake it 


I walk out of the room and towards Nova 


"You will refer to me as Levy" she says 


"Come on don't mess with me I can't take it right now"


"Look Archer, we we're friends, sisters even but once we are beyond the dome I will kill you in order to win and I expect you to do the same." She walks away


I'm stunned, my best friend has just shunned me, maybe it's for the best, but it still hurts.


I walk towards my team, I've met Cecelia and Treyton before, but I don't know Raffael.


"He I'm Azalea or I guess Archer from now on" I smile 


"Why good to meet you, why are you talking like this were all about to die." Cecelia says 


"Get ahold of yourself Martinez, we need to sleep and tomorrow we fight for are life's" Treyton says 


We all walk to are beds for the night, I don't know about the others, but I toss and turn for hours before finally falling asleep.


I open my eyes and everything is dark am I still in bed? No I can't be, I feel below me everything is hard, I look around and I see like coming in through the cracks and crevices.


I'm in a crate, I stand up and realize I'm not alone Cecelia, Treyton and Raffael are with me.


"Help, help!" She immediately screams, I don't even think she knows what's going on


She runs directly into a wall of the crate 


I grab her arms "you need to calm down, just breathe"


"I think the race has started, we need to wake the others."


His eyes shoot open, he leaps up and I stand back 


"We need to get out of this box" he says 


Raffael chimes in "look there" he points towards an axe 


Treyton picks it up and beings swinging until the wall is no more.


We all squint shielding are eyes as we see sunlight for the very first time
