CHAPTER 57

Funbi's driver drove inside MMO Company and parked in between just for Funbi to get down first, Funbi opened the door and getting down with many bags in her hand. She left the doors opened and going inside, her driver came down to closed the door and driving to where he could park very well. The bags were falling from her hands and even some of the items wanted to fall; she was just struggling with it and getting very angry. Walking with anger and just make sure that she got to her office on time.

"I don't like all this stress! I should have let her get it" She said with anger, all what are inside the bags were for official uses so as the head of the department she decided to go and get them. A white cab drove inside and parked, Somia saw Funbi struggling with the bags as she wanted to get down from the car and looking at her.

Somia opened the door, carried her bag and greeted the driver. She got down from the car, closed the door and walking inside. Funbi was trying to arrange the bag, focused on it and didn't look at her front. Suddenly, she lost her balance and all the bags fall on the floor.

"What nonsense is all this now" She said with loud voice and bend down packing the items back inside the bags. Somia bend down with her as she got there, supported her to pack the items back inside the bags and packed the bags together into three for her and easy to carry than the way she was carrying like six bags and struggling with them.

Funbi just looks at Somia, carried the three bags smartly and going inside and didn't even said a word of appreciation. Somia looks at her and didn't even expect her to say so, Somia just took a step when she saw that one of the items was left behind, she took it and going inside.

The door opened automatically for Somia, she entered and got to the reception. Funbi just got there, just opening the book and wanted to sign.

"Good morning! How are you?" Somia replied the secretary with a smile as she put her bag down on the cabinet there and brought out a pen.

"Even want to forget! This fell from someone's hand, so keep it in case if the person is asking or searching for it" Funbi was still there but Somia too decided to ignore her and reporting it to the secretary instead.

"Oh! It fell and many people has not arrived. Okay, I will look for the person and give it to him or her" The lady collected it from Somia and Somia signing on the paper, Funbi turns back as she took a step.

"Somia! It's mine, you know and why would you gave her?" She said in a very rude manner.

"My sister, you know what to do to it" Somia said to the secretary, carried her bag and leaving the place. Funbi was looking at Somia with bad looks as she was leaving.

"She is so rude! Rubbish" She said with loud voice and the secretary look at her.

"Since! It's yours, have it then" Funbi collected the item from the lady with anger, hissed and going to her office.

Somia opened the door, entered into the office and closed the door back. She put her bag on the table. Took her tea cup on the table and going to the coffee marker to makes a tea, she put the cup on the coffee marker, plugged the marker to a socket and waiting for few minutes for it to makes. She put the cup, pressing the coffee inside it when her phone started ringing. She quickly stop collecting the coffee and going to her seat, thought maybe the call could be from Ashar.

She saw Nana on her phone and as the, she first cool down as she saw who was calling and put the coffee down gently on the table. She took her phone but the call had cut before she could pick, she turns to the other side and sat down on the chair. Nana's call entered again.

"Hello Nana! Good morning" She said with low voice.

"I am good and Good morning as well! I have been thinking of coming now, just about to dress so that is why I said that I should call you"

"I know you are not coming to greet me and Ashar that you are coming to greet is not around yet, I can't say if he will be here soon but now he is absent"

"But he is coming to work today now? I can wait for him, I want to greet him and give him my own gift as well" She was in her wardrobe checking her clothes.

"I can't say because he may decide not to come today. Even why are you disturbing yourself again, his birthday has passed already so just forget about and also next year is there. Oh! Luckily, his wedding is in a month and few weeks now, you can give me wedding gift instead" Nana frank her face and very sad at Somia.

"You should have say that you don't want me to come now, instead of saying all that" Said with anger and with loud voice.

"No! No!! I don't mean it like that just suggesting now and you have taken it personal" Somia said with low voice.

"Suggesting what? Please if it's like that, I will finds another way to give him the gift"

"Oh! Sorry, I will call you when he is around so that you can see him" Somia said with low voice.

"Alright!" She said with low voice and hanged up from the call.

"Nonsense! If it's not because MMO is not a company that you can just enter anyhow without the inference of someone, will I be calling you" She was very jealous.

"Don't worry, I will make sure you lose that job and get back to how you are after your uncle sent you out" Nana hissed and continued checking the closed.

Somia dropped the phone on the table, brought out the laptop from her bag and put it on the table. She opening the laptop, on it and waiting for it to boot when the door opened and Semirat entered.

"Ah! Semirat, see you here very early like this, is strange oh! Good morning"

"Good morning! I decided to come and see you before I go to my department" She said as she put her handbag down on the table and sat down.

"Okay! And hope no problem because early like this" Somia closed the laptop first and rest her hand on it.

"You remember that yesterday night when we are talking, I told you that I will call you back that Akeem was calling me"

"Yes! I have slept before you will call back even it's this morning I saw your missed calls" Somia said with low voice.

"I thought so. Before I say anything, firstly listen to this voice note he sent to me" She on her phone, play the voice note and gave it Somia. Somia put the speak of the phone into her ear so that she could hear clearly.

'Really! You know that the duration of time for my money to be refund has gone, I still now gave you another a month and still now I haven't receive my money. What you could do is tp relocate from your formal place to another place'

'Please Sir! Give me more time, I will surely pay you and I am working on it sir'

'If I give you more time that mean you have ready to lose your life. Listen to me, I don't joke with money. If it's #1000 you are owning me, you must pay because I don't joke with money, failure to do so is death' Somia was scared and dropped the phone on the table.

"I just heard a gunshot!" Somia said with fear and looking at Semirat.

"Continue listen to the voice note" Semirat said and Somia took the phone back.

'I hope you heard that gunshot. My boys have been looking for you and you know there is nowhere you can, I will surely finds you and kill you' Somia put the phone down.

"Akeem has really put himself into a serious trouble. The man killed someone because I could heard someone shouted with serious pain from background" Somia said with low voice.

"I am telling you! He know called me, begging me that his life is at risk now and I am the only one that can help him but I let him know that I can't never" Semirat said with anger.

"Why you go and borrowed money from that kind of a person and you know that if something happened no way for you to refund it. This life you have to plan for uncertainty, like okay what if this doesn't work out like this, did I have other way but you know"

"I even I asked him that okay, how much have you gathered? He is said nothing and you are expecting me to give you two million naira like that. I am the only one taking care of our child, you don't know how he is doing, going to school. You know nothing about his welfare"

"I am telling you again don't give him the money, let him face the consequence. You are not his mother now or any of his relative" Somia said with loud voice.

"Even I am not your wife again, so why will you be calling me and asking me to pay a debt for you. The debt that I don't know when you are collecting it"

"Let him go and work as man, let him suffer a lot. If you help him now, he will surely do another one that will worse than this and be waiting for you to pay for it as well"

"I let him know that I don't care since I and my son are fine, those times has passed and not anymore. I have it I should give him like, he is really mad"

"Even if you want to help him later because that man that he borrow money from can kill him, so if you want to help him make sure that he has struggle a lot and he has suffer. Even he has call you that Semirat please I need the job now"

"That is what I too want to do for him, want him to know that I am not his option for anything. We are no more together, so nothing concern me about his own again"

"Don't give him any money, not ready to work just want to be having everything easily like that. Who does that?" Somia said with loud voice.

"I am just thinking that he may want to do something so that the money can come by force because he won't want to die" Semirat said with low voice.

"And he will end in the prison! Please stop saying that" Semirat laughed loudly.

"Ah! You are so funny Somia. I will have to go now just came to tell you this as well" Semirat got up, carried her bag and wanted to be leaving when the door opened and Ashar entered. He was carry his laptop bag on his shoulder.

"Good morning Sir" Semirat greeted him and Somia too.

"How are you our girl? And Somia how are you too?" He said with smiles and going to his table.

"I am fine Sir! Somia later okay" Semirat said with smiles, left the office and closed the door.

"How are you Sir? Let me quickly make coffee for you" Somia said and came out from her table.

"Somia! We are going to somewhere very important now, it's the file that we will need there I want to take" Ashar said with low voice and searching for the file, among the files on the table.

"Okay Sir!" Somia quickly packed her laptop back inside the handbag and waiting for Ashar.

"Got it! Let go, and after you please" Ashar said and Somia walked to the front and Ashar followed her. He closed the door and two of them leaving the company.
