Chapter Nineteen: Close

Nie Asreal slapped the talisman on his shoulder and it instantly evaperated with crisp blue flickers of flame. Yi Lian grabbed his wrist and felt for his pulse.

Yi Lian panicked, "Why is it getting slower? Do you need medicine?"

Nie Asreal took a few breaths to check his condition. "I feel... fine.'

Yi Lian's expression didn't paint a picture of trust so he continued, "I feel calm. Everything seems just very peaceful."

Yi Lian bit his lip because that could mean anything. Calm and then death. Calm and then demons surround you. He had never done this before so the effects were really unknown.

Nie Asreal explained, "Whatever you were feeling must have come of it. If you felt like you wanted to kill someone then that's what it would have done. Unless you wanted to kill me or hurt me, I will be fine I promise." He placed one of Yi Lian's hands over his pulse and the other on his own so he could feel them. They beat at the same time. Sang in tune. It made Nie Asreal feel strangely close as the two soft pulses became one. That was until Yi Lian got too excited and ruined it.

Yi Lian leapt forward into Nie Asreal's arms and hugged him, basically falling into his lap, definitely on accident. "I made my first spell! I have never heard of anything like this! Have you? We read the same amount so you probably haven't either."

Nie Asreal chuckled and brought his arms around his waist so that Yi Lian could sit more comfortably. "How do you know we read the same?"

Yi Lian leaned back with one hand on Nie Asreal's shoulder to steady himself so that he could point towards the shelves of books in his room. There were only a few books though, nothing overwhelming like Yi Lian's collection.

Yi Lian, "Several of those books have book marks inside meaning they are the books you are currently reading. You get A stars meaning you probably not only read multiple books at one time but also just place them back in whatever library there is in The Deserted Capital as and when. They are also all strawn about in a messy manner so they have definitely all been exchanged to be read recently. You may deceive many into thinking you have natural knowledge but such a thing doesn't exist. You're only smart because of what you do with the information you seek out."

Nie Asreal smiled and pulled Yi Lian further into his lap, so far it looked as if Yi Lian were straddling him. "Is this what Immortality does? Have you really tapped into the universe's secrets?" He asked dramatically.

Yi Lian laughed, "No, it's just observation! Trust me even though i am immortal there is still much for me to experience."

Nie Asreal's gaze darkened slightly as ideas and southern thoughts arose causing his smile to turn mischievous. "Really Yi Lian. I thought you had experienced it all?" He teased.

Yi Lian thought for a moment before realising his tone and turning bright red. He didn't mean it in that manner at all! "Second Young Master Nie-!"

Nie Asreal, "Your Highness?"

Yi Lian's breath hitched. He looked into his eyes. Had he really been so close without realising? Practically every part of him met his. His mind flew through hundreds of thoughts a second, not intaking even one as everything seemed focused on one thing, one person, one need. He was seventeen, emotions weren't easy to control and hormones weren't stopped by immortality.

The hands holding his shoulder laced around so that his arms could fold over and bring them closer. Never had he been so bold in his life yet he felt as if his soul yearned out towards him. That this was all okay and natural. As if this was meant to all happen and Yi Lian didn't have to worry about anything.

Nie Asreal's hands glided up his back. "Is this okay?"

Yi Lian gulped and blushed harder. He nodded.

Nie Asreal, "You need to tell me with words okay?"

Yi Lian tried hard to bring back his ability to speak and said in a whisper, "Yes."

Nie Asreal's hands roamed about his body. They traced his waist, fell down to hug behind him through his outer robe earning a slight gasp. "You're so beautiful you know? As delicate as an Orchid but holding the same ethereality most don't"

Yi Lian couldn't express how much he liked hearing these things until he decided one act could. He leaned down and Nie Asreal smiled.

"Yi Lian, are you fixed now-"

Yi Lian's eyes blew wide whilst Nie Asreal just sighed heavily and yelled, "Kind of in the middle of something ass face!"

Yi Jian rushed forward and swooped Yi Lian up into his chest like a mother grabbing up her child off of the street. "You- You- I'm so angry I can't speak! I have never been so- Ah!" He threw out his hand and one of his daggers flew up into the air and went straight for Nie Asreal. Nie Asreal flipped over to the side just as it was stuck into the ground and grabbed a talisman from his sleeve.

Yi Lian jumped away and went straight for the blank talismans on the floor.

Yi Jian shot out another dagger. This time Nie Asreal threw his talisman and it grew green flames as it hit the dagger head on, immediately dropping to the ground.

Yi Jian, "I guess we'll fist fight then if you want to use demonic means to get the false upperhand."

Nie Asreal smiled and stayed silent. Yi Jian took one step forward before stopping in his tracks. He heard a slight crackling sound but looked back to see only Yi Lian drinking tea at the table, slowly placing the tea cup down.

Yi Lian, "I think I'll retire for the night De-ga. Will you be doing the same?"

Yi Jian nodded and silently started to walk towards the door with Yi Lian on his tail.

On the way out Yi Lian lent forward to whisper in Nie Asreal's ear. "That spell is really very useful."
