Chapter 15

ETHEREAL'S POV:

I am now sitting on the sofa here in a room while just looking at the only person lying on the bed now. He was very pale before when we saw him and it is good that his original color is already back. His body temperature has also dropped so I can already breathe a sigh of relief because of that.

When he called me, I already knew that something was up because he was usually texting me and not the other way around. Luckily, I got there in time with P'Ocean who was miraculously present that time.

The location where he investigated was close to the place where I was also there so it was a good thing and I called him immediately when Night dropped the call.

We immediately ran to the place he said and fortunately, we were able to get there immediately before he lay down on the floor. I was so worried earlier when I saw what he looked like so P'Ocean and I hurried to leave.

We took him here to his condo and P'Ocean just gave him medicine. Some of our friends also went to him when they found out about his condition but they also came home later to rest because Night was still asleep.

I just sighed and closed my eyes to calm my nerves because right now, I am already blaming myself for not taking care of him better. I wish I hadn't just met dad's staff back then who didn't like mom's management. I wish I had put him first rather than my work but I didn't do it just for myself.

I opened my eyes and looked at his fragile body again. If I love and want him to be with me, I should protect him. That's the reason why I met those guys. I want my alliance and people in case my mom wants to harm Night. He is more important to me than any other things and I don't want to see him in this state again.

I was about to close my eyes again when I heard him groan so I blink my eyes and immediately stood up to go near him. I cupped his warm cheeks and after a few minutes, he slowly opened his eyes.

I look at him gently. "How are you, Night?" I asked him.

He smiled faintly at me but it was so clear on his face that he was tired. I can't blame him, he has so much work to do and not just that, he was also studying at the same time. I bet, this was so tiring but luckily for me, my baby was so strong.

"I'm already okay." He answered with a sigh.

I kissed his forehead which made him shocked a little and it didn't go unnoticed from my eyes how his face turned a slight bit of red. "Then, why did you sighed like that?" I asked gently, changing the topic of course because I don't want him to get embarrassed.

His face turned gloomy which made me worried a little. "This was supposed to be our date night but because I got sick, it didn't happen." He answered with a sad voice.

I smiled faintly. "That's okay, we can do it another time but your health is more important so better to take care of yourself more for us to resume our date." He just nodded vigorously hearing those words from me. "You need to eat now and drink your medicine, Night," I added and straightened up my body.

"Where are you going?" He asked cutely.

I chuckled and turned my back from him. "I need to feed my baby," I replied and walked my way to his kitchen. I did not see his reaction because I immediately walked away. I just reheat the rice porridge that I made earlier because I made this in case he woke up.

After reheating it, I put it inside the two bowls and place them on a tray with two glasses of water and spoons on it. I carried the tray and walked back to his room.

I saw him leaning on the headboard and when he looked in my direction, I immediately smiled at him and placed the tray above the foldable bed table in front of him.

He looked at the food in front of him so I sat also at the other side of the table, so we are already facing each other right now. "Since we can't go for a date, let's just eat dinner together," I told him and he looked at me with a wide smile that was plastered on his soft and pink lips.

"Okay!" He beamed happily, maintaining his tired yet sweet smile. "Did you make this?" He asked when I was about to eat my porridge too. Because of his question, I froze on my spot and looked at him hesitantly before nodding my head as an answer.

I saw how his eyes sparkled because of it and after that, he immediately grabs the spoon and eats the porridge slowly. His face was blank after that so I got worried.

I bite my lower lip while still looking at him. "Is it bad?" I hesitantly asked which made him look at me.

He pouted which made me look at him in wonder. "No, it's not bad but you didn't tell me that you knew how to cook. This is actually amazing." He replied in a childish voice so I sighed a breath of relief because of it.

I smiled. "That's because this is my first time cooking something for someone," I mumbled slowly which made him stop. "I usually stay alone in the house with some maids because my mom was always busy and I don't have any dad anymore. If not because of P'Cadwell, maybe I will completely grow up alone all my life." I added and he smiles with sympathy towards me.

"When I was 14 years old, I already became alone since my parents died at that time and I've got nowhere to go. That's the reason why I transferred to a public school. Luckily, I found a job that can sustain all of my needs, from my school expenses to my food." He stated in a low voice but I could still hear the sadness from it.

Maybe this is the reason why I didn't see him again at that time in the place where he usually hangs out but I will not be going to ask him that anymore.

I sighed and smiled at him. Well, I just realized that I've been smiling since the day that we both got close to each other. I wasn't the type of person who loves to smile with other people but Night is different, he was something special.

He was the only person whom I cannot get tired of. His happiness is also my happiness as well as his success and decisions in life. "Then we aren't alone anymore since right now, we already have each other besides our friends," I told him and he smiled again because of that.

"Thank you." He mumbled sincerely but I shook my head lightly because of it.

"No, thank you for making me happy," I replied and he just rolled his eyes at me playfully.

We both laughed because of it and ate the food I made. Well, even though we didn't go as we originally planned, I could say that this is still worth it. Excluding the fever, of course.

I may not be going to tell him that I was blaming myself for his fever but I will still do my best to not let him get sick and harm the next time.

"Where are you going to sleep?" He asked as I entered his room again after I washed our bowls, spoons, and glasses.

I looked at him and smiled. "I'm going to sleep on the sofa because you haven't fully recovered yet," I answered him and was about to take his extra pillow along with a blanket but he held me in the hand so I stopped. "Why, Night?" I asked while frowning.

"I'm sorry because I want you to sleep here next to me but my fever might infect you." He replied weakly which caused me to smile and hold him on the head.

"Do you want me to sleep beside you?" I asked gently and he nodded his head with an innocent face.

After all, he always looks innocent.

I chuckled. "You can just say so, I will sleep beside you tonight," I mumbled and I saw how his eyes widened.

"What are you doing? I have a fever, Equinox!" He immediately half-yelled at me but I didn't mind it because I was already lying beside him.

"Don't mind it, Night. I have a strong immune system, don't worry." I told him and laughed a little because of how cute he is while pouting and glaring at me.

"What if you get sick because of me?" He asked cutely. I don't know but I find him cute.

I smiled and chuckled again. "I will turn off the light, first," I mumbled to him and he just nodded his head. When I'm already done, I immediately put myself inside the blanket and turn my face to him. "About your question, then my answer would be, you. You will be going to take care of me if that happens." I uttered while smiling because of it.

Although I could not see his reaction because it was dark, it was still okay with me. Even in this way I can let him know how I feel. I can't say it completely because I'm afraid of the possible effects, but I will still find a way to make him mine when everything is already well.

"Good night, Night," I mumbled and was about to close my eyes when I heard him reply in a whispering way. I just smiled before I closed my eyes and slept after that.

NIGHT'S POV:

I woke up as if something heavy was above me so I slowly opened my eyes and the peaceful sleeping Equinox appeared immediately in front of me.

I just smiled at what I saw. When he is awake, he always frowns on others or just will maintain his straight face. He smiles at me but not at others.

Honestly, I feel different every time we are together. I also feel different every time he suddenly says something strange. I am not malicious in anything so as long as he does not say anything, I will not assume any possibilities.

I looked at the clock attached to the wall of my condo and saw that it was only five o'clock in the morning and we still need to go to school. I feel fine again so I will enter today.

For now, I just need to get out of Equinox's big arms because I still need to make breakfast. I just shook my head when he tightened the hug.

I just because of that but I still tried to get away.

"Where are you going?" He suddenly asked in a hoarse voice. I blink my eyes because of it and I could feel my face heat up because his warm breath is fanning at my neck right now. Not to mention that he was hugging me while his face was on my very neck.

I cleared my throat. "I will be going to cook breakfast for us because I will go to school with you," I replied and was so proud of myself for not stuttering.

"No, you're not going to school today. You need to rest, Night." He mumbled while still facing my neck.

I pouted even though my stomach is feeling a bit strange, strange in a good way I guess. "But I want to, I am okay now and in fact, you are with me also. Please, I wanna go to school, if I stay here I will just get bored and I am alone here Equinox." I protested.

"Who told you that you will be left alone here?" He asked which made me confused.

"You mean, you will be going to be absent too if I will not be going to school?" I asked him and he just nodded. I shook my head because of that. "You can't do that because of me." I protested immediately.

I heard him chuckled. "Of course, I can. I am not the top one in my batch if I cannot use some of its perks." He replied so I just sighed because of it.

He was right, he has the privilege to have a break sometimes since if you are a top one in your batch, then you have the right to do everything you want as long as you know your limits and you are still maintaining your rank but I don't want him to do that since I don't want to waste his time.

"No, you can't do that. We need to go to school and don't argue with me anymore." I told him firmly.

"But--" I immediately stop him from saying something by covering his mouth.

"I will go to school and I will sulk if you are not going to let me," I told him while pouting and I turned my face towards him. We are looking at each other and I could say that we are measuring each other if who is going to win in this staring contest.

"Fine, you are going with me but you can't stress yourself too much. If you need help with homework and anything, I will do it for you." He told me after how many minutes. I smiled widely because of it and we immediately prepared to go to school.

I made our breakfast and we ate together. He even volunteered to do it but I glared at him so he doesn't have any choice but to enter the bathroom and do as I say. I just laughed because of that and after we did everything we needed, we immediately drove to school not knowing what lies ahead of us.

"Why are you here? And why did you let him, Ethereal?" P'Air asked with a frustrated tone while crossing both of his arms in the front of his chest when we were already in the lobby. They were all here and they were throwing daggers at Equinox and if it were true daggers, maybe he was already dead, I'm just glad that they were just staring at him.

"I told him not to and I even volunteered to be absent so that he will not stay there alone but he threatened me. He told me that he will sulk if I will not let him, so I did." He pointed out so the guys turned their looks at me with the same look they gave earlier to Equinox.

I just smiled awkwardly because of that.

"What are you thinking?" P'Arrow asked with a cold and serious expression so I gulped because of it.

"I just don't want to skip any classes since this was so important to me. After all, I was already okay and superfine now." I told them all with a small pout.

"Are you sure?" P'Sun asked skeptically and I just nodded in response.

"If that's the case, then be with us or Ethereal wherever you go. You should not go to your work also, you need to rest your body a bit so that you will not be going to easily get sick." Fighter mumbled in a serious tone and I just nodded again because of it.

"Don't worry guys, I am still here if something bad happens. I mean, I already gave him medicine yesterday and I bet Ethereal gave him last night too." P'Ocean mumbled and looked in the direction of Ethereal.

"Yes, I did before I washed the utensils that we used." He replied which made them nod their heads.

Light claps his hands together. "Okay, then let us proceed to our class now. Let's go! Jump in, vámonos! You can lead the way. Hey! Hey! Do-d-Dora, Do-d-Dora, Do-d-Dora, Do- d-Dora!" He sings and a lot of people were now staring at us since he was half yelling alone at the front while we are all here behind him.

"Damn, we don't know him." P'Arrow jokes even though he still had a straight face. They are so epic.

I just shook my head as we followed the mad man.

We entered our respective classes and then Equinox, Fighter, and Light also picked me up in my class because as usual, P'Sun and P'Arrow would come out late while P'Ocean and P'Air would go first to the canteen/because their building is just nearby.

"Let's go to the second floor again, guys." Light said so we just nodded while Fighter seemed to not care around because he was just focused on his phone.

I just shook my head and looked at the man next to me and when he felt maybe my gaze he also looked back at me.

"Why?" He asked. I just shook my head in response and the Elevator door opened just in time. We all just went out and headed to the table we always ate at.

"Oh, you are already here, we are now waiting for Sun and Arrow," P'Air said as we approached the table.

I was confused. "You're not with P'Lindsell and P'Soiree?" I suddenly asked the two.

P'Ocean sighed and lowered the book he was reading and then he looked at me. "Lindsell said he has an exam so I just decided to visit him later at the library and bring some food." He answers in a calm voice.

I just nodded since it was really hard to take a medicine course. It is so stressful and frustrating, sometimes there is also no time for other things because the time that they are supposed to be used for resting, they still need to use it in studying.

I looked in the direction of P'Air and he was about to say something when someone beat him to it.

"I'm already here." We heard someone says and immediately looked in its direction. P'Soiree's smiling face appeared in front of us. "Oh, why?" He asked when he already near us.

Light shook his head. "Nothing, P'." He answers then we all sat down while P'Soiree sat next to P'Air.

"There's a transferee, guys." P'Soiree suddenly said which became the reason for us all to look at him.

"Who is it?" Light suddenly asked him.

He shook his head and was about to answer when he suddenly looked in a direction. "Her, she's the transferee." He said and pointed to someone so we turned our attention there.

It was a girl with long wavy hair. She was so white and I bet, we just have the same height. When she looked in our direction, she instantly smiled and I could say that she was beautiful.

She walked gracefully towards our table and she stopped in front of Ethereal while looking straight at him. Wait, did they know each other?

"Excuse me, miss?" P'Air suddenly called her which made her look at him. "Who are you?" He asked hesitantly.

She smiled. "I am Brianna Dela Vega." She answered and brought her attention again to Ethereal. "Ethereal Equinox's fiancee." She added which made my world and my heart crushed down.
