Chapter 43 : The Yellow Algae

Ren comes out quickly hearing the panic voice of his wife, seeing pale Hong Liu in her arms was the last sight he expected, his eyes widen but he didn't waste his time and picked her up taking her in her room in his house.

"Look at her, she looks like she has no blood in her!" Yi Tai stroke Hong Liu's forehead.

"Tai-Tai, wipe her forehead and check is she wounded somewhere," Ren said while checking Hong Liu's pulse and her eyes.

Yi Tai materializes a bowl of water and a piece of cotton cloth, wiping Hong Liu forehead. Hong Liu sigh as the warm damp cloth touch her cold skin, she frowns trying to feel herself but it felt like her limbs had melted and everything is just cold, she shivered.

Yi Tai straightens her to cover her with a blanket.

"Ah!" Hong Liu flinch.

"Xiao Liu, tell me where it hurts? child," Ren asks her gently, holding her head from shaking.

"In...the..." Hong Liu heaved.

"....back!" She coughed.

"Tai Tai," Ren indicted. Yi Tai turns Hong Liu over, putting off her robes magically and covering her so only her back was visible. Her back was already bandaged but it's like the wound was opened. He performs a healing spell but it didn't work, he cut through her bandage. Yi Tai kept stroking Hong Liu's head to keep her comforting but when her eyes landed on her wound, it was big gash blood pooling out of it with black smoke.

"This is..." Yi Tai looks at Ren.

"A wound by the demonic weapon,"

He won't be able to heal her with simple magic, it would just give her temporary relief.

"How did she get it?" Yi Tai asked she was not really good at the medicine but even she knew enough this can't be healed this easily.

"Only she could tell us but as for now..." Ren took deep breath raising his hand over her back, peach raise come out of his hand healing her. He and Yi Tai bandage her wound. Ren put a sleeping spell on her.

Ren frown as they both leave her to rest.

"What is it?" Yi Tai asked.

"I told her to stay put in the ocean of bliss palace, she definitely went somewhere she shouldn't have and now, her one wing is injured with something demonic, it would take to much time for her to heal with magic or any kind of medicine I have in store not to mention it would be painful," Ren sigh and shook his hand.

Dong Hai must have healed her otherwise she would have been worse with her already disrupted spirit with retribution. the wound is not at its worse but it was not better either if the wound open again it will deeply affect her spirit.

"Come now, You are the best medicine King in the universe there might be something you could do," Yi Tai touch his shoulder in comfort.

"It not that it doesn't have a cure, it just very rare and hard to find," Ren said

"What do you need? tell me. For Xiao Liu, I can bring anything"

"Leave it, This is a journey that nobody can come back from," Ren sat by the lower table thinking.

"But...why are you glum about it? Xiao Liu will be fine, right?" Yi Tao pressed her lip in worry.

"Xiao Liu condition is critical but not fatal with proper care she will find it just that...it will be painful. She strains herself coming from the Nine Heavens to here, she can't use her wings means that she must have walked here she even doesn't know how to cloud surf, I can sense Dong Hai had healed her and detoxified her from any demon venom that's a good sigh,"

"Xiao Liu had no tolerance for pain but tell me why you said the medicine is rare? why in the three realms you can't get it?"

"Tai Tai, no matter how powerful and ancient a god is there is always a limit to them as well, this seems to be mine,"

"I don't believe it, tell me what is so special about this medicine?" Yi Tai asks leaning on the table blinking at her husband, like any butterfly fairy she was too stubborn and for Ren particularly alluring he can't resist her unusual dark blue eyes looking at him like that. He smiles at her, gazing at her softly.

"We need two very special medicine, one the root of red fairy fruit, there is only one tree now in existence that is on the east border of Green Forest but unfortunately it goes in the territory of demons thought getting it still not a problem it the second one that is impossible to get, the yellow Alage from the demon pond, it is in the forbidden land," Ren left it at that.

"That's it Forbidden land?"

"The pond is guarded by the two cursed pythons, you can't fight them to defeat them and you can't kill them either,"

"Why not?"

"They are a cursed spirit of two demon brothers if you fight them or trap them they only latch on your cultivation leaving the person weak and ready to die and you can't kill them because whoever kills them they possess the body of that man to eat his spirit and turn into pythons again. It's their punishment to leave in this never-ending cycle,"

Yi Tai shivered at the prospect, 'my poor Hong Liu' she sighs

"Is there no other way to get the algae?"

"If there was I won't be here and don't worry it's not fatal, Xiao Liu, however, have to endure the pain," Ren nodded solemnly.

Yi Tai nodded.

"Just keep an eye on her, she can't sit in one place and you know that. We have to make sure she doesn't do anything drastic now," Ren said.

"Don't worry, I will take care of her, oh and I have one more question?" Yi Tai asked.

"Don't you always?" Ren started to put the tea to brew in the tea maker that was just set up beside the table

"If nobody can get the algae then how do you know it will work?" she asked.

"I used it before the python was there, only once. As a medicine King there only two things that I have the rare pleasure to use and I have only used those only once the ironic thing is I used it both together on the one place and on the same person,"

Ren almost got a glazed look, Yi Tai knows her husband has only two passion one is his art of medicine and the second is winemaking in both, nobody can excel him. She rests her chin on her palm looking at his glazed look amused. She met him so later in his life there are many things that she doesn't know about his days of youth after one hundred twenty thousand years of marriage she still finds herself drawn to him, there so much she learns every day.

"And what are those?" She asked

"The yellow algae from the demon pond the second is..." Ren stopped, feeling a familiar aura entering his territory. How could that be? After hundreds of thousands years later....he frowned.
