The One To Blame (III)

08:44 P.M.

San Miguel's Hospital.

June 21st, the year 2018. Thursday.

Katrina stared at the piece of paper and read those crimson letters on it. Carmela whimpered as Katrina gasped and put her hand over her mouth.

'Margo Monteverde's death day will come before the dawn of Friday, I swear.'

The entire group of friends, except Marcus, gasped at what they saw. Katrina fell on the floor as Carmela composed herself before saying anything.

"It is Thursday today, Katrina. And Margo will be dead before the dawn of Friday," Carmela mumbled as Katrina looked up from the paper to her. The emergency doors opened.

Carmela stared there while wondering if Margo was okay. She ran over to the doctors, who were drooping their heads down as if signaling that Margo was dead.

"How was Margo, doctor? Is she... i-is she okay now?" Carmela stuttered. One doctor with bloodstains on her white robe looked up to her eyes, and Carmela saw how hopeless it was. Carmela prepared herself for what the doctor would say.

"She died a minute ago. I'm sorry, but the wound had gone deeper into her abdomen that it damaged her stomach. And she lost a lot of blood from it. We tried to revive her, but her body said otherwise though. It severely damaged her nerves in her left hand. We couldn't do anything about it," the doctor explained, and they all gasped.

Carmela looked down as the doctors apologized to her. They walked the exit of the hallway and turned around the corner.

Mina stood up from his seat and guided Carmela to sit down on the bench. The tears fell again from her eyes and she knuckled her fists as they tried to console her.

Carmela sniffled and announced, "Margo died now."

Mina embraced her and let her head lean over her shoulder as she howled through the hallway. Katrina could not move from the floor and the tears were on the verge.

She remembered how Margo defended her in front of Director Jane for their upcoming movie. She regretted everything she said when she woke up from her anger and when Margo was dead now.

Carmela wiped her tears hastily and wriggled herself out of Mina's arms. She faced Katrina and pointed at her.

"You killed her, right?" Carmela asked, gritting her teeth. Katrina stood up from her seat, but she could not stand straight because her knees got all weak. Marcus stood erect and put his hand between Carmela and Katrina. He tilted his head towards Carmela and calmed her down.

"Carmela, please, calm down," Marcus whispered. Carmela didn't even have plans on looking over to him. She stepped right through on the front of Katrina's nose and her gaze intensified.

"Tell me the truth, Katrina. You killed her, right?" Carmela asked her while it still knuckled her fists.

Katrina immediately shook her head and said, "I don't. I can't do that, Carmela."

Carmela hitched her hair quickly, and Katrina didn't even have the strength to resist her. She didn't even raise her hand to remove Carmela's hands from her hair and she thought she deserved it.

Margo became fearful of her surroundings. That word 'Kill' was much more powerful than she thought. Even if she were Margo, she would be afraid of the person who said that.

Matthew took action by holding Katrina's waist. Marcus didn't hesitate to fold his arms on Carmela. Zoey removed Carmela's hands from Katrina's hair and raised both her hands.

"Stop, Carmela, please. We shouldn't be fighting after Margo's death right there," Zoey scolded. She creased her forehead and exhaled.

Carmela pointed at Katrina again and shouted, "You are the one I am blaming for Margo's death, Katrina! I couldn't forgive you!"

Katrina swept her hair from her face as she tucked in behind her ear. Carmela saw the tears pouring down her eyes, and she chortled while Marcus was holding her.

"Carmela, please stop," Marcus whispered, but Carmela didn't listen to her.

"You care to cry now after Margo's death?! You were an actress, Katrina! A wonderful actress, I should praise everyone!" Carmela shrieked. It was their luck that there were no people around and they were alone.

Mina walked behind Zoey's back and held his forehead.

"Carmela, you are talking nonsense," Matthew spoke up. He gripped Katrina's waist tightly.

"Don't butt in on the conversation, Matthew! You don't know what I am feeling right now! That girl... that girl you liked was the one who killed Margo!" Carmela yelled over that Matthew opened his mouth and gasped. He closed his eyes and tried to be more patient.

Carmela shook her head and said, "You should reflect on your actions now, Katrina! Now that someone is dead because of how reckless you are!"

Mina just faced the wall and he can't bear to see his friends quarreling over each other. The way Carmela broke the pledge for the second time. He held out his arms on the wall as Carmela's voice erupted again. Abbey stared at them all and didn't know what to do because she knew she can't control the wrath spreading.

She leaned back beside Mina, panting. He was facing the wall, and she observed his face. Mina looked over at Abbey and shook his head. Abbey did the same thing, and they both exhaled.

"Don't worry, Katrina, I am sure Margo knew who killed her in the middle of the night. I will have the chance to think and blame you as a suspect in this case," Carmela barked. She removed Marcus's arms from her in a haste. She stopped in front of Katrina and slapped her.

Katrina let her face like that, while she held it, as she felt the sting from Carmela's palm. She swallowed and felt the sadness snitching the entire happiness she had left.

"Carmela!" Zoey called out and ran over to Katrina. She glared at Carmela for a minute and stared back worriedly at Katrina.

Carmela glanced at them for a second and stomped her feet towards the end hallway. They all breathed out and Matthew loosened a hold of Katrina's waist. Zoey guided Katrina on the bench as she closed her eyes and held her head aloof.

"It's okay, Katrina," Zoey murmured and hugged her from behind.

They all heard her loud cry as she sobbed on Zoey's chest. She soothed Katrina's hair and mumbled that everything was okay repeatedly.

Marcus, Matthew, and Abbey paced back and forth while Mina was brushing his hand over his hair. Marcus put his hand over his waist and turned to his girlfriend, Zoey.

"I need to follow Carmela. Everything can happen to her. She is not in a stable state now," Marcus mumbled. Zoey nodded immediately, and Marcus looked over at his friends. He ran through the end of the hallway and pushed the glass door quickly.

"Shouldn't we... shouldn't we check on Margo's body inside?" Mina asked finally as he controlled the tears from streaming down his eyes. He knew how kind Margo was, and how he knew she may be homophobic or she doesn't like gays like him. He knew she had a kind heart.

"I want to see Margo again for the last time," Mina mumbled as Abbey turned her head towards him.

Matthew nodded and said, "I think we all should. But I don't understand what is happening right now."

Katrina's whimper was still in the air and Zoey didn't want to unclasp her arms from her.

He tilted his lips and asked the crying Katrina, "What did you do, Katrina? To make us all like this?"

Katrina heard it and she couldn't reply to Matthew. She just shook her head at Zoey's chest and didn't know what to say. Matthew put his hand over his waist and looked up at the ceiling. Abbey and Mina entered the emergency room. They looked for Margo's body while Zoey and Matthew left there, comforting Katrina.

Marcus pushed the driver's car door of Carmela while she glared at him.

"You shouldn't drive in your state, Carmela. You could get into an accident," Marcus said with knuckled fists and gritted teeth.

Carmela's eyes were raging in madness and retorted back, "What do you care, Marcus? Margo was dead now. What? Should I be laughing my head off because of that?"

Marcus pinched the bridge of his nose and mumbled, "Carmela, listen to me. The one you did right there can destroy our relationship. You are breaking the pledge."

Carmela shook her head as she tried to open the car door, but Marcus leaned back onto it. They stared into each other's depth of their eyes while Marcus was trying to reach out to her hand.
