The Traitor

"Finally I escaped that wretched place!" Yui yelled happily.

Yui then can be seen running off in the distance.

"You are just going to let her go?" A maid standing next to Ahmya says.

"Yes, I know she will act her part. I am not worried at all." Ahmya says smiling. "I let her go on purpose, I could have kept her here if I wanted. "

"She also took your necklace."

"No matter, she can hide herself all she wants. I put a curse on her, she won't ever be able to tell anyone the truth."

Ahmya turns around and walks away.

"Enjoy your freedom for now, but you can't run from your destiny forever." Ahmya says.

Yui had an exhausted look on her face from flying a good distance.

'To bad I couldn't just teleport, but that takes too much stamina. I also have no clue where to even teleport to.' Yui scratched her head thinking. 'So now what. I escaped, but what do I do? I have no money or anything.'

Yui could be heard sighing not to sure what she has got herself into

"Gosh, I am so stupid. I could've just stolen money or something." Yui yells in frustration.

"Ah, My house. I know I have money there." Yui says while starting to walk again. "I just hope it's still there, I mean it has been a year. Just which way do I have to go, I know Ilagend is north, and I shouldn't be too far sense I flew a good distance."

Yui started to spin around looking for the correct direction. She looks for where the sun is and then corrects her orientation.

'Through the woods I go then.'

A few hours later.

"Crack," leafs could be heard in the distance moving.

"Finally some company." Yui says then remembering. "Wait I can't be seen like this they will definitely try killing me"

"Ughh, this is such a pain." Yui groans in annoyance. She pulls out a back necklace that she stole from Ahmya . "This is supposed to change your appearance into what you desire, guess this will come in handy."

She then takes the necklace apart and wraps it around her neck. Instantly the necklace shows a red magic circle and activates. Yui then looks down then up seeing what has happened.

"My point of view seems slightly higher, and my voice… My voice, no way I am finally a guy again!" He says happily.

He looks down and sees a black open vest with a white undershirt, skinny black pants. Touching his head pulling down he could see black hair.

'So this necklace changes my clothes to. What kind of crazy magic necklace is this.'

Shrio then tries to summon a mirror, but nothing happens. He then tries again… same result.

"So I can't use the magic I learned when I was a vampire in this form. That is a big downside. It's a good thing I still know all my enhancement abilities from back when I was a knight".

The noise of leaves cracking could be heard getting closer. In his vision he could see a wagon. getting pulled by two grey horses.

Shiro jumps out to the middle of the path, waving in front of the driver.

"Stopp!" He yells.

The horses came to a quick stop almost giving the driver whiplash.

"Whoa, what do you want." The driver says with anger.

"By any chance are you heading to Ilagend." Shrio says.

"Yes I am, let me guess you want a ride."

"If you may?" Shiro says politely.

The driver looks down at Shiro trying to decide if its a good decision to let him on.

"I suppose just this once, sense it isn't a very far journey from here."

"Thank you so much." Shiro blurted out with a smile.

Shiro jumps up onto the wagon sitting right next to the driver. The driver was an older looking man, in his 30s. Wearing a tan tunic with a black overcoat, and black boots. He also had blonde hair with blue eyes.

"My name is Dion. I guess having a traveling companion for a bit isn't much of a hassle."

Dion rubs his hand on his grey pants and reaches out for a handshake.

"My name is Shiro." Shiro reaches out to shake his hand. "It's nice to meet you Dion, I haven't seen anyone for awhile."

"Where did you come from." Dion curiously says.

Shiro not quite knowing what to say, since he can't tell him he originally came from Greyreach.

"Um, I came from doing a mission from the White Order. It was to slay some monsters at the South Reach."

"I don't really like the White Order, but no offense, you don't look like you are from that wing." Dion says, thinking Shiro looks suspicious.

"I don't like wearing their armor, they always get mad at me so I take it off once I leave." Shiro looked worriedly hoping he wouldn't catch on.

"I can understand that, but their armor is meant to protect you. So don't get yourself killed."

Shiro, looking like barely passed a test. Sweat dripping from his forehead.

"Why don't you like the White Order if I may ask." Shiro says.

"They are just a bunch of lawless knights doing nothing but making trouble. They don't protect anyone, just themselves. No offense, you seem like a good fella."

'Seems like the knights have changed from the year I have been gone.'

"I am sorry to hear that, I am a low ranking knight, so I don't know what goes on in the city. I just run errands for them." Shiro says.

"It's ok kid, so far the demons haven't attacked so I ain't too worried."

"Let's hope it stays that way." Shiro says

"Yea I can agree with you on that one. Lets get going then shall we." Dion says.

A few hours later…

They soon appear out of the forest and in the distance you can see a huge city. The city of Ilagend. A huge wall surrounds the city protecting it from any attackers, with tall guard towers.

'We finally made it, I am finally back home after so long.' Shiro could be seen crying.

Dion looks over at the crying Shiro and looks confused.

"Are you okay kid?"

Shiro hurries and wipes the tears off his face.

"Yes I am fine, it must just be my allergies.

Dion, not looking too convinced just ignores it.

"So what do you do, if you don't mind me asking?" Shiro says.

"I'm an armor smith." Dion reaches behind him and pulls off the cover pointing at it. "I was out collecting some more ore since I was running quite low."

"Oh, that's cool. Do you enjoy your job".

"Yes I quite like what I do. Ever since I was little I have always admired the creation of the blade and armor. So I have studied every form of it." Dion adjusts himself looking like he is going to tell a long story. "I have studied many styles from the demon races. Dark elven styles, dwarfs, warbeasts, even orcs even though they don't seem like they know how to make a blade."

"Wow you must be a very impressive blacksmith, I wonder why I have never heard of you." Shiro says shocked

"Well actually I haven't opened up my shop yet, I just finished all the stock weapons and armor. I was out getting more ore so that I could make personal requests."

"Wow , so you are brand new. Congratulations."

"Yup, thank you. I can make you anything you want. Of course it will cost you though."

Shiro laughs

"I will definitely go to your shop If i ever need some high quality weapons and armor."

"I look forward to your arrival." Dion says with a smile.

They soon reached the front gate of Ilagend. Guards can then be seen approaching the wagon and soon they surrounded it.

"What brings you Ilagend today sir?" A knight approaching Dion says.

"I am actually from this city you see." Dion showed his document of approval. "I was just out collecting ore, and my friend here I picked up on the way back."

The guard goes around to the back lifting the tarp, searching around all the ore he hears a sneeze.

"WE GOT SOMEONE BACK HERE!" The guard yells.

They yank Dion off the wagon and ties his hand.

"Whoa, whoa. Whats happening." Shiro says confused.

"Your friend here was sneaking in some unwelcomed cargo." The knights are seen pulling out a girl. The small girl had hazel colored eyes, long brown hair, fluffy tall pointy ears, and a fluffy tail. She was wearing a torn brown shirt with tan pants. No shoes could be seen on her.

"Sneaking in a demon!" The knight kicks Dion in the face so hard it looks like it could have broken his jaw. "Is your friend here involved too, should I put him under arrest also?"

"No, no he hasn't done anything please. I just picked him up on the way here and he knows nothing."

"Fine, even though I shouldn't believe a traitor like you. Your friend here doesn't look like he has damn clue on what's going on." The knight picks up Dion and walks him into the city. The other knight finished tying up the demon, and started walking her into the city. She looked at Shiro with a sad expression and proceeded to look forward.

"What is gonna happen to them, not that I care," Shiro says to the knight.

"She will probably be kept in jail, then sold as a slave to anyone who wants to buy a demon. The guy… He will most likely be hanged for being a traitor." The knight starts to walk back to the guard post. "You better get going, you still seem suspicious to me and I wouldn't think twice before throwing you into jail."

Shiro hearing that starts to walk towards the gate. Looking up at the wall, he forgot how big they were. The city had multiple walls. One was for the poor to live in, one was for middle class, and the last wall was for the rich. The city blocks the poor out because the rich demands it. They says they would rather die then be seen next to a peasant.

'What should I do about those two. The man was nice, but he had a demon with him. He is clearly a traitor.' Shiro is thinking hard. 'I shouldn't just go rescuing a demon, especially for what they did to me.'

Shiro starts to have a headache, remembering what he has been through during the past year.

"I can't.. I just can't, I just need to focus on myself right now."

Shiro starts walking on the main road, leading to the center market.

"Wait I forgot to go to my house." Shiro says with a annoyed look. "I am so dumb how could I forgot the main reason I came here."

Shiro starts to head towards the middle class area. Once he turns around to head in that direction he gets yanked to the side. Shiro then was getting dragged by his shirt into the alley.

"You were with Dion weren't you. Why didn't you do anything!" A girl was staring at Shiro. She was a petite looking girl with long red hair, light blue eyes. She wore a black cloak with a grey undershirt, tan pants with black boots. She wore a wolf knight crest on her cloak. Not looking familiar at all to Shiro.

"What could I have done, he was trying to sneak in a demon. He is a traitor." Shiro says.

"Tskk." The girl made a noise, looking annoyed.

"So you are one of those people, that just assume all demons are just out to kill humans." The girl looked angry, glaring at Shiro. "You disgust me."

"I'll just go rescue them myself." The girl says walking away annoyed.

Shiro, not knowing what to do, doesn't want to leave this girl to get killed all by herself.

"Wait, I will help you."

"Really, are you sure you want to be seen as a traitor." The girl says sarcastically.

"I am not doing this for the demon. I am doing it for the nice man that helped me."

"Ok fine, have it your way." She starts walking away. "My name is Lilith by the way, and stop calling them demons, that race is called the warbeasts."

Shiro starts to run and catch up with her.

"Yes I know, but what's the difference anyways."

"What's the difference? Are you fucking dumb!" Lilith says with anger.

"Sorry." Shiro says not agreeing with her, but not trying to anger her more.

"What jail are they getting put into anyways." Shiro says

"They are in the Black Council jail." Lilith says.

"WHAT! We are going to barge into the royal section and rescue a dem..:" Lilith glares at Shiro. "I met a warbeast and Dion."

"Yea, and what about it? You got a problem with rescuing a friend and a "Demon." Have you never had a friend or something." Lilith says.

"Nothing wrong with that…" Shiro said, felling attacked from that comment.

Lilith starts picking up speed.

"Let's hurry, we don't have much time before they decide to kill Dion."

Shiro starts to think to himself, 'what a mess I got myself into.' He then starts to pick up his pace to catch up with Lilith.
