Promise

Ghost's POV

I entered my tent and settled down on a stretcher. But then a rebel opens up the flap of the tent and tell me to come over. I leave my tent and follow him to the main tent, everyone in there was watching something on the TV so I look at the screen and my heart sank.

'Emily?'

On the screen was Emily with her hands tied above her head, hanging with the rest of my team. They look horrible, all bloody and messed up I barely even recognized them.

"That's Sentinel, they're going to be executed in a week here in Russia." said a Russian rebel

"Where?" I asked

"I don't know." replied the rebel

"Fuck..." I whispered back in Russian

I left the tent and went back to my tent and started crying. She's safe but badly hurt, I've never seen her the weak and destroyed.

"I'm terribly sorry Emily, I wanted to save you."

Phantom's POV

We were hanging for about a day and a half in the freezing weather. I couldn't stay conscious and was about to lose it until someone let us all go and we fell onto the cold wooden stage.

"Quickly get them some medical attention." I faintly heard a voice

I couldn't tell who was talking but I did see two men pick me up and carry me into the royal palace of Eldia. They brought me to a medical room and set me down on a bed and covered me with blankets, injected me with water and turned on the heater near me.

"How is she?" asked a voice

"She has two fractured legs with the cast it'll take 2 weeks for it to heal. She has multiple bruises like it's crazy what I'm seeing here. Her muscles are all beat and torn that it might take a while for her to regain her strength especially in her stomach area." said another voice

"What about the others?" asked the first voice

"Juggernaut has the same problem with Phantom except he has nothing really broken but it'll be hard for him to move again. Marksman lost his left eye completely and we're doing surgery on him. Kit, his back is ripped and we're applying stitches. Javelin's windpipe is crushed, she's undergoing surgery so it'll be fixed if the surgery succeeds. Hacker's experiencing memory loss right now and he can't seem to focus and Bomber, his entire body is burnt mostly 1st but a couple 2nd degrees." said the 2nd voice

"Save them all." said the first voice

"Yes sir." said the 2nd voice

My vision was blurry and I tried seeing who the people were but I couldn't make out who they were.

"Phantom if you can hear me, we're going to put you to sleep for now. You're gonna probably wake up a couple days from now see you then." said the first voice

I slowly began to feel even more drowsy so I went deep into sleep.

4 days later

I slowly opened my eyes and my vision became clear. I noticed that I had an airfit face mask on so I tried to take it off but it hurt when I tried to lift my arm up.

"Stay like that for now it's going to hurt a lot if you move." said a female voice next to me

I look over to my right to see Hange sitting there with Levi next to him.

"Why save me?" I asked but it barely came out as a whisper

"We needed some answers." replied Hange

"You could have done that without giving me treatment." I whispered

"We give treatments to all prisoners no matter what." replied Hange

I look up at the ceiling and a tear falls down the side of my face.

"My team?"

"Marksman underwent surgery and he's good but Javelin, she's not waking up." said Hange

"The others?"

"They're fine." said Levi

I sighed, a long sigh.

"I need to see them." I whispered

They unexpectedly nodded and Hange gets me on a wheelchair and takes me around the medical room. Even though it's a room, it was still pretty big. The first one I saw was Marksman who had a bandage over his left eye.

"Ma'am?" whispered Marksman

"Hey, how are you feeling?" I asked

"Could be better." replied Marksman

"Get better." I whispered

"You too ma'am." replied Marksman

Next was Kit who wasn't laying on his back but on his stomach because of his back.

"Kit." I called out

Kit looks at me and smiles weakly.

"How are you ma'am?" he asked

"Could be better." I replied

"Javelin?"

"She's doing fine don't worry." I lied to comfort him

He nods so we leave and I check up on Hacker.

"Hacker?"

"Sorry ma'am, I don't remember anything that happened in the past month." said Hacker

"Don't worry, you'll get them back." I replied

"With all due respect ma'am, there's no point." replied Hacker

I didn't respond to that, knowing how he must feel. I saw Juggernaut but he wasn't in a stable condition to talk so we left and went to Bomber.

"How are your burns?" I asked

"Still hurts like hell." said Bomber, "How's Hacker and Juggernaut doing."

"They're fine." I replied

He nods and chuckles a bit so I leave and head over to unconscious Javelin. I reach for her hand, pain was so much but I fought it and held her hand in my hand.

"Stay with my Javelin, we'll make it through the end together." I whispered

After rubbing her hand in my hand I let go and nod to Hange and Levi who put me back in my bed and takes out a clipboard.

"We only want a few answers so please cooperate with us." said Hange

I nod in response and we start.

"What was your goal while running away?" asked Hange

"To find out who set us up." I replied

"How do you know you were set up?" asked Hange

"Don't you already know that?" I asked

"Well, we do but we just want to confirm." replied Hange

"We first realized when Marksman came to our house and told us about the assault and the scientists of NHEO." I replied

"Where did you find those symbols?" asked Levi

"The factory I was in as a titan, we went back there and found it." I replied

Hange was writing all these things down and put the clipboard down.

"Our last question is how come you never killed any of us?" asked Hange

"Orders but also, we didn't have the heart to." I replied, "You believe that you're doing the right thing, which is honorable that's why we didn't want to kill you."

Hange looked at me with pity and nodded her head.

"We'll try our best to call off the execution we know that-"

"No point, it'll only cause you deeper trouble with Russia." I cut her off shaking my head

"Oi we have the evidence to prove you innocent." said Levi

"But it'll only prove that you're going to help fugitives, Russia will never believe a single word from you." I replied

"Why are you giving up?" asked Levi

I looked at him and smiled.

"Maybe I just want to rest." I replied

Hange was about to argue with me but Levi grabbed her arm and shook his head. Hange sighed and nodded towards me and they left. I was left alone for about 5 minutes until Annie and Eren came in.

"Are you feeling okay ma'am?" asked Annie

"You don't have to call me ma'am, Annie just call me Emily." I said

"How can I disrespect my former leader." said Annie

I smiled and looked up at them.

"How are your kids?" I asked

"They're doing well. Brooks and Ashley are with Annie's dad." replied Eren

"That's very good." I replied

"Oh uhh here." said Eren

He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a dog tag, not just any dog tag but Ghost's dog tag. I take it as he hands it over to me and tears begin to fall out my eyes and I was in too much pain to wipe it off.

"Eren." I whispered out

"Yes?"

I look up and handed him back the dog tag.

"Keep it for me." I said

"Ma'am? But shouldn't you keep it?"

"I'm going to get executed anyways, no point in having this on a dead person." I replied

"But still this is Ghost's dog tag shouldn't you at least-"

"No, keep it and promise me this Eren." I cut him off, "Give this to my son when he's the right age to understand everything."

Eren shook his head and looked like he wanted to cry but Annie held his hand and comforted him.

"Annie take off my dog tag for me." I said

She hesitantly takes it off.

"You too Annie, please give it to my daughter when she grows up too."

"I don't know if I'm good do that..." whispered Annie

"Please, it's my last order for you but not as your former leader, but as a friend."

Eren slowly takes the dog tag and like tears rolls out of his eyes. He holds Ghost's dog tag tightly and nods towards me.

"I promise, I'll make sure your kids know about you." said Eren

I smile and nod.

"Thank you so much, Eren, Annie." I thanked, "It was an honor serving with you."

Eren and Annie saluted and I nodded since I can't really move my arms. They quietly leave and I was left alone again.

Ghost's POV

For four days I got nowhere. Fucking nowhere. I tried looking into Michael's bank account to see who transfers the money but I got fucking nowhere. I tried seeing if Michael's company had any alliance with different companies but he seemed to be an independent company. I threw the computer in frustration and dug my fingers into my hair. I even asked the rebels if they knew or heard of anything related to Demon.

'Come on fucking think what is there to do?'

I couldn't think of anything I just couldn't. There were so many things on my head at the moment that I just couldn't think properly. I sighed and got out of the tent and got on a dirt bike. But before I left I put my bullet proof vest inside of my jacket so that I could hide it. I took off my waist strap and my leg strap making me look like a normal person. I put the holster of my pistol in my pants on my stomach and covered it with my shirt and jacket.

I turned on the dirt bike and sped off and towards Moscow. The wind blew into my eyes so I put on some sunglasses and drove faster. The highway was empty so I was able to pass the speed limit. The cold wind felt nice and comforting, something I miss a lot. The forests surrounding the road was covered with white snow, another beautiful thing to see.

About an hour and half it gets dark and I stop at a bar. I don't normally drink but I just needed to get some thinking out of my head. I park the dirt bike and head inside the bar which was barely filled with people. I head over and sit down on a table in the corner and order a beer. The waitress brings it to me and I start drinking. I look up at the TV and it was showing a news broadcast about the incident at the OKO Tower and how they were finished cleaning it up.

I look around the bar to see that there were 4 middle age men laughing and drinking. Others were here but mostly independent customers drinking by themselves. One guy was flirting with the bartender so I just minded my own business. The TV switches to a face of Michael Langston and the news reporter starts talking about how he survived with Ghost Team 117 and is under arrest for cooperating with us.

I was gonna order another beer until I heard one of the middle aged men say something that caught my attention.

"Hey what do I think our boss is going do about him?" he asked in Russian

'Boss?'

"I don't know but let's leave, we'll talk about this somewhere else." said another man

They get up and leave so I get up after they left the store, paid the waitress and followed them. They were walking and laughing for about 10 minutes until I got to an apartment. They entered the apartment and I waited outside until they got on the elevator. They entered the elevator so I entered the apartment and checked which floor they were going to. They went to the 6th floor so I got on the elevator and went on the 6th floor. I got off and entered this hallway that splits into two. I didn't know which one they entered. I can't just knock on every door and annoy everyone.

That's when I remember I had a camera stick that you can put into small cracks to see on the other side of things. So I pulled that out of my backpack and went though every door by putting the camera through the small gap and checking each room one by one. Most of the rooms were dark until I got to one door where it was pretty loud inside and when I out the camera under I saw them, those same 4 men who were at the bar. I put the camera back into my bag and pulled up my bandana. I knocked on the door and one man opens it and gives me a confused look.

"Sorry I wasn't invited." I said in Russian

I kick open the door and the man who opens the door falls the ground. The other three runs towards me but I duck under the first swing and back kick him. The third rushes to me but I push kick him, grab his collar as he was falling back and threw him over my shoulders onto the first man who got up. The fourth man runs and grabs a kitchen knife and tries to stab my stomach. But I grab hold of his wrist move it to the side and brought him close and kneed his chin. The second man does a round house kick but I grab it and kick his other leg out and he falls down. The first man gets up with the third and they both attack me at the same time, first man throws a right hook while the third man tires kicking my legs out. I lean backwards avoiding the punch and with my leg I kick the man shin breaking it into half. The man cries in pain as he falls down clutching onto his leg. The first man continues coming at me with the second man joining me.

'I'm making to much noise.'

I quickly hit the first mans throat and side kicked the second man onto the couch. The first mans struggles to breathe so I do a spinning hook kick on him and he falls to the ground unconscious. The second man runs for the knife but I kick a chair towards him making him trip on the chair and fall, his head hitting the edge of the table knocking him out.

I brush off my clothes and just closed the door of the apartment room and got back to work with the 4 men.
