Xonnie Part 4

I walked out of the room that day feeling dead. It was 4 days after the incident with Tobin and I have been avoiding him ever since.

"Ah, Dalian!" Mr. Stevens said as I entered The Reach.

"How's it going?" I asked. I looked at who was all present and noticed Tobins mom among them.

"Mrs. Steele," I walked up to her and took her hand, "it's a pleasure to meet you."

"Oh no, the honor is all mine, Dalian." I smiled and looked back at the others.

"We have the reply to that letter and I think we should send it out today. I nodded. Outside the window I saw Axel.

"Excuse me for one moment." I ran out and touched his shoulder, he turned to face me.

"Could you please ask Tobin for Ryders appearance?" I asked.

Axel nodded, "but why Tobin?"

"Because! Tobin and Ryder are friends and only Tobin knows here he is," I shrugged. Was that believable?

"Okay," he walked to the Rooms hall. I let out a sigh of relief.

"Anyways, back to what you were saying. The reply. Does it cover the basic facts that we are here for them. Everyone is alive and well, no one has been lost. We have supplies to spare if they need it?" I listed things out for them as they skimmed over the letter.

"Well?" I asked.

"Yes we have stated all of your request."

"Thank you. And also I want-" I was cut off.

"Stevens." Everyone turned to see Ryder. Mrs. Stevens looked at me and I nodded my head.

"We have news." Everyone looked serious. His mother stepped up and handed him the original letter from the Mayor. He read it to himself, his brows slowly creasing together as we got further down the page.

Looking back up at us he asked, ""This is real?" We all nodded. He didn't talk for awhile as if he were in deep thought then hit his head with his head. I stepped towards him.

"Ryder.." He looked up at me with pain in his eyes. Then they changed to hate filled. I lowered my head.

"I want a response made quickly." He snapped. Everyone turned to their computers.

"Ryder, can we please talk," I asked.

"Maybe later, I have to go scout out areas." He jumped over to the ledge. I sighed and walked away.

"I'm guessing by that encounters seeing each other didn't go as planned?" Mrs. Stevens asked leaning on the table. I shook my head slowly.

"Tell me about it," leaned in closer. I looked around, everyone else was in deep concentration.

"Well..I went to his room and I said who I thought he was. I was right and it just." I hesitated, "I don't even know him but all I wanted in that moment was his hands on me. And his lips touching mine.." my voice slowly faded out as I imagined what could have happened.

"Oh dear child," Mrs. Stevens laughed. My cheeks turned red.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to," I looked away. She shook her head.

"Get to know him. And if he still catches your fancy, kiss the boy. Let it lead from there." She winked at me. I grinned.

"Thank you." I left the room and went to go find Laura.

On my way I saw Ryder with someone. He was wearing a suit. I stopped them.

"Who's this?"

"This is.." Ryder stopped as if he were unsure.

"Names Vix." The unknown stuck his hand out. I took it and nodded at him.

"So you're going out now?" I asked, turning back to Ryder.

"And Vix is going with me." He pushed past me.

I clenched my fist. I really need to find Laura. I found her in the lunch hall with Erika and Lexie.

"What's going on here?" I asked.

"Oh Dalian!" Erika fawned.

I looked down. I forgot I was in character.

"Y-yes that's me." I scratched my head and waved awkwardly.

"So tell me, are you are Ryder dating?" She asked. I straightened up.

"No we aren't."

"You totally are! Lexie write this down." Erika snapped.

"No you got it wrong me and," my necklace started to flash. Oh no. It's started to pull me towards the exit. "Ryder." I said to myself.

"Aw! It's like they are connected!" Erika made a heart with her hands.

"I have to go!" I ran to where the necklace was pulling me.

"MRS. STEVENS YOU'RE IN CHARGE," I yelled. No time to stop.

"I'm coming, Ryder." I jumped up to the ledge and looked out.

A simple scouting mission. How could he had run into danger. I slid out the window and ran South.

What did he find? Please tell it's not more of those monsters. He's already sustained so much injuries this past week. His body must be struggling to keep up with my instant healing. Please be alive. I looked up at the sky. Dark and smokey, like always.

The necklace led me down a narrow path in the woods. The pull was strong and continuous. They are near.

An opening came up. A plain. Why would he even come out here." I hit my forehead.

"WATCH OUT!" I heard someone scream. I ran straight ahead and saw a Gagamba stab Ryder. Fear shot through me and my body stopped movie.

"NO!" I screamed and ran towards him. I saw him wipe his mouth and then fall to his knees. His body was done. I threw my hands out and vines came flying out. Wrapping around the Gagamba and I threw it into a rock structure. It's body smashed and crumbled.

I fell by Ryders side and brushed the hair out of his face. Crap! I have to get him back fast. I ran over to where Vix was, he was awake.

"Can you move," I asked extending my hand.

"No," he looked back, a tree branch was crushing his leg.

"Is it broken?" I asked, pushing the branch off.

"No I don't think so." He got up and limped. But it was obvious that it was.

"I can make it back, just go get Ryder."

I nodded and ran to go get him.

By the time I had picked him up and got it to where I could carry him, Vix had met up to us.

"Let's go," I started to walk to the base.

It was a slow and torturous hour. But the only fact was Ryder bleeding out in my arms and Vix had broken his leg. Plus the constant hiding from Gagamba's.

"This is hell," I muttered as I pulled Ryder towards me.

"Almost there." Vix pointed at the school. You could see it over the trees.

We made it back to the school.

"You stay there." I pointed behind a trash bin. No way can Vix jump up there with a broken leg. And I had to carry Ryder. I leaped up and landed on the outer ledge. Opening the window I dropped in.

"MEDICAL HELP," I yelled. People all around turned towards me and covered their mouths. Tobins mom came up and took him from my hands.

"I got it from here." She smiled softly. I nodded my head as she peeled him away from me. I jumped back out and picked up Vix.

"Hurry."

Once we were back inside I sent Vix with a different medical woman.

"Where is Ryder?" I asked nurse Sarah. She pointed behind a curtain. I pushed it aside and shut it behind me.

"Good timing. I can't heal this." Mrs. Steele has Tobin on the bed. His blood was all over her clothes. I clenched my jaw.

"Move please." I scooted past her to the side of the wound.

I put my hands around the cut and extended my vines.

"They can only heal this so much. But it should be enough to make it where you can fix it." Mrs. Steele nodded. The vines made the entire room glow.

Sweat was dripping down my face and my hands ached by the time I was done. I fell to the floor and started to catch my breath.

"Vix's turn," I got up and walked over to the next curtain.

"Dalian." He looked worried.

"Ryder is okay, trust me." I smiled. Putting my hand to his leg. It was purple and swollen. I looked at him, "trust me."

My vines wrapped around his leg. He screamed him pain.

"Just a second more." I widened my stance.

"There." The leg looked normal now, just a little swollen.

"Thank you." He started to get up but I pushed him back down.

"Let it heal." I ordered. He nodded his head. I left him there to rest. I started to walk back to my dorm when I felt dizzy. My feet started to trip over themselves. I felt two hands grab me.

"Dalian? Are you okay?" Laura asked.

"Just take me to my room." I smiled at her weakly. She nodded her head and helped me.

I looked at myself in the mirror when I got back to my room. My once white suit was now stained red. Ryder. My knees gave out and I fell to the ground.

"Take this to the man in the closet." I said tapping my necklace twice and hanging my suit to Laura. She nodded and ran out of the room.

"I need sleep." I stumbled over to my bed and closed my eyes.

My body felt drained. When I opened my eyes I could barely hold them there.

"Ah Xonnie!" Laura jumped to me when she saw I was awake.

"How long was I out?" I asked, slowly moving out of the bed.

"A day. It was well deserved so don't go freaking out."

I nodded my head slowly.

"Thank you. My body needed that after helping Vix and," my mind stopped. Ryder. Where was he? Was he okay?

"Ryder's still asleep,"she paused, "it's been strange. He was saying some mans name in his sleep. But his tone when he says it is like a question as if he isn't sure."

I tilted my head. How curious.

"What was the name?" I asked.

"Devin True."

My eyes widened. True. Devin True. I couldn't help the tears that were swelling up in my eyes.

"W-what's wrong?" Laura frantically reached out to unsure of what just happened.

"That's my dad! My dad!" I jumped off the bed and ran. I need to find Tobin.

I made it to his room and knocked. No reply. I slowly opened tho the door so see the same thing as last time. He was in his bed, squirming around as if he were in pain. Poor puppy. I slowly walked up to him and touched his forehead.

"It's okay, I'm here." I slid my hand into his and grabbed on.

A few seconds later his body flew straight up and he sat there. Sweating.

"Another bad dream?" I asked softly.

"How did I get here," there was panic in his voice.

"After you left to go scout, my necklace started to glow and it felt like it was pulling me towards you. It sensed you were in danger. I got there right before you were torn into pieces.." The image of him being stabbed replayed in my head. My bloody suit. His blood. His body almost lifeless in my arms. My thought was broke when he put his other hand on mine.

"Thank you once again."

"Anytime Puppy,"I smiled. I watched as sweat dripped off his face, "Your dream. What was it?"

His head dropped down.

"A man. Running for his life. The beasts was basically knocking at his door." I explained.

"What did he look like?" She urged. I looked at her and her eyes were wide with hope.

"He had light brown hair, brown eyes, looked to be in his thirties. He had some black reading glasses and a plaid, green button up shirt on and some khakis."

My body tensed.

"Is he dead?" I said hoarsely.

"N-no, I don't think so."

Tears filled my eyes once again. He's alive. I have to go get him.

"Hey what's wrong," His hand touched my cheek. It was warm.

"That's my father.." my voice cracked and my tears gave in, "running for his life.."

He pulled me into him. Tightly. His hand stroked my hair. He smells nice. I wish she could stay like this forever. I wiped my face off and pushed away from him.

"Let's go find him." Tobin patted my head. I looked up at him.

"Are you sure.." He nodded.

"I'll get Vix." I said, running out of the room.

"Wait, Xonnie."He got out of the bed, "you should pick one of your most trusted friends to give power to." He wants me to give up me precious jewel?! No way!

"He's my father! I have to go! You won't take it!" I said gripping my necklace tightly.

"No no, I don't want yours. I have more.." He showed me a box and opened it "pick one."

I looked inside and saw all the gems. There were more than 3? There was a glove inside. Laura would love that!

I grabbed the glove.

"Thank you, Tobin."

"No problem," He turned around.

"Meet me at the exit in 10 minutes," I smiled then left the room.

I needed to find Laura. Lunch hall. I ran there but she wasn't to be found. Is she still in bed? I made way through The Reach and saw he talking to Axel.

"LAURA!" I shouted to get her attention. She turned and looked at me and I made the 'come here' motion. She waved at Axel and ran over to me.

"What is it girl?"

I grabbed her hand and pulled her into a empty room. I check made sure no one saw us. And tapped twice.

"Ah that's so cool!" Laura fawned.

"Your turn." I handed her the glove. She slipped it on her hand and held it up stylishly.

"Tap it twice." She did as told and a glow filled the room. Her suit was black with grey spots on it. Her hair turned a dark purple color.

"You look great," I smiled, "now we must go meet the boys." I said running out of the closet. Laura on my heels. I saw the guys on the ledge laughing.
