Praediti Part 1

Chapter 19: Praediti Part 1

"Thank you."

Eliana thanked the housekeeper of Wistal's house when she poured warm water inside her empty glass.

The sun was up, an indication of a new day's arrival. Eliana and Wistal ate quietly on the long table in the hall. Breakfast was quick and uneventful, the two pretend relatives wasted no time and left the house to reunite with the investigator.

Eliana wore a simple dress, cream blue with white laces on the hem of the dress's skirt. Her black shoes were comfortable and light on her feet. While Wistal had his usual knight clothes and cloak.

On their way to the Knowledge building, Wistal explained to Eliana how he wouldn't be staying in the facility for long. He had a couple of workloads waiting for him in the Jurist court.

Needless to say, Eliana wasn't very happy with the idea of being alone with Moz, especially with his first impression yesterday.

But she had no choice.

They soon arrived at Moz's office.

"Wistal! My friend, it's great to see you." Moz greeted with his usual enthusiasm.

"Moz, my apologies but I truly wonder if you knocked up your head in the most times." Wistal jokes. "I was just here yesterday."

Moz ignored his half insult joke and turned to Eliana. "New friend, you look better than yesterday!"

Eliana resisted the urge to roll her eyes at the old man. He obviously wasn't making any sense and said the most random things. She chose to just stare at the senior with a monotonous facade.

Moz turned his back on the two heaving a sigh of disappointment. "Not a greeting in return I see." When he was in front of the messy desk filled with papers, he spun on his heels to face his guests. "That's one more mistake for you Eliana." His tone was rid of the playfulness he sported just then.

"What?" Eliana's brows knitted in confusion.

Moz momentarily pointed his index finger at the girl. "Praeditians are humbly kind and welcoming." He waved his hands. "And at the most not rude. Therefore, if anyone in consideration, were to greet you, you have to greet back."

Eliana sighed tiredly. Realizing if she needed to keep this act until they truly understand her human case in this weird world, she needs to start acting like them. She needs to become a Praeditian by actions.

"I'm sorry." Her eyes shot up from the floor meeting the old man's eyes with determination. "I'll correct my mistakes. Do tell me more about Praediti."

The sides of Moz's lips slowly curled up into a grin. Her determination intrigued him. He expected Eliana to throw a fit, after all she was forced into this. Her willingness to cooperate was beyond their imaginations.

Wistal chimed in. "I'll leave this matter into your hands Moz. I believe the longer I stay here will affect my schedule."

Moz nodded at the Jury. "I have prepared all the notes this girl needs, to learn."

"I am not surprised Moz, as usual. You are exceptionally skilled and talented in this area." Wistal smiled gratefully at the old man.

Moz waved his hand, flattered by the Jury's comment. "You flatter me Wistal, no need to mention my naturality."

Eliana didn't bother to stop herself from eye rolling now. If she was back on earth, Moz was certainly one of those cocky old men full of themselves knowing how their experiences are much more superior than those younger than them.

"You can go uncle Wistal. I can handle myself here." Eliana permitted.

Wistal bid his goodbye and left the facility.

Moments later, Eliana found herself sitting on the couch looking curiously at the clumsy Moz. The old man was loudly rummaging through the messy random things piled up on his table. A full container of black ink fell to the ground, the sound of glass shattering echoed around the room.

Eliana cringed at the mess he made.

"Aha!"

Eliana took her eyes off from the tainted black floor shifting her vision towards the old man. He had a victorious smile looking proudly at a thick notebook raised up from his right hand.

Eliana arched an eyebrow. "What is that?"

Moz brought the notebook to his chest as he approached Eliana. "This is what I will give to you. It's for you to study."

The horror in Eliana's eyes was visible opening widely as her vision zoomed into the thick notebook.

"What?! That? I'm going to study that?" She stood up from her seat, waving her hands panicky. "No no, we can just talk, you know? You can verbally teach me all about Praediti."

Back on Earth Eliana grew up maintaining good grades, she was studious because she enjoyed studying. But lately, it wasn't like that anymore especially when she became interested in art.

Her last day on Earth was spent on making an essay. And now she's going to study another one, she's still going to stare at paragraphs?

'Heck no.'

Moz stood a meter away from Eliana who sported a terrified look glaring at the innocent notebook in his hand.

"Eliana, I wrote everything you need to know about Praediti. In order for you to live a natural life here, you must learn everything. Your knowledge must be equivalent to someone growing up from Praediti."

Eliana slowly calmed down but the frown on her face remained. "I cannot promise you I'll learn that overnight Moz."

Moz laughed from her serious statement.

"Hahahaha! You are a jester my dear!" He laughed until he calmed down. "Of course you can't, sit down."

Eliana deadpanned when he laughed at her seriousness but she followed, sitting down on the opposite single chair face to face with the old man.

"What is it?"

Moz laid the thick notebook flat down on the coffee table. He flipped the cover, opening to the first page. A map made from scratch was illustrated on the page.

"This must be Praediti." Eliana leaned in to get a clearer overview of the sketch.

"Yes." Moz confirmed.

He started tracing his fingers around the map, pointing on each island across one another. "Let's start here, the main gate. This place is called 'Ahara' it's the gate between Praediti and Earth. It also connects two paths on either side, the Light and Dark continents."

Eliana's brows furrowed in confusion. "It's discontinued." She noticed how the path of the called, 'Dark Continent' was blank.

Moz leaned back a little, sighing shortly at her observation.

"As it seems, we are not in terms with the other continent. I recall you mentioned Wistal telling the history of Praediti to you."

Eliana nodded. "Yes, he did."

"What do you know? The history is quite long and incomplete."

"Praediti was casted away from Earth by the humans." Eliana recalled.

"Correct, but it was also because the God's decided it was the most ethical thing to do so. To separate the gifted from the normal." Moz explained.

"That's not included from Lord Wistal's narrative." Eliana said.

"Perhaps he left it out on purpose for you. I know Earth lost communication with their God." Moz casually explained.

Eliana was taken aback. "What do you mean by that? It's true, but does that mean you can talk to God?" She asked, clearly ridiculed.

Moz laughed a little from her disbelief.

"As expected from a human." He commented. "Yes, dear Eliana, my friend. We can talk to the Gods. The light district and Earth are watched over by the same God. The five other lands are watched over by the five other Gods."

Eliana slowly stomached what she discovered. "So, so, does that mean you've seen them?" Her curiosity peaked up.

"Yes, we have. But it's been years since that occured. Moving on Eliana." He leaned towards the notebook, pointing at the rest of the islands. "This is where we are, the Light district. As you can see we are circled connected by four other islands."

Eliana listened quietly allowing the old man to explain.

Moz pointed at the surrounding islands one by one. "They are all elements. After this, I shall explain their respective lands. This here is the Elemental land of Azaria. Next to it is the Elemental land of Mareia. Then the Elemental land of Caelia and finally the Elemental land of Terraia."

Eliana scanned the map over her head, noting from now she needs to remember it.

Moz flipped to the next page revealing a map similar to a family tree.

"De La Felinar." Eliana read the cursive letters written above the tree. She paused. "That's my fake last name." She blurted confused.

"Indeed it is. Wistal is his late highness king Edryfed's cousin."

Eliana pursed her lips from the revelation. "He is a royal blood." She states, speechless.

Moz nodded and continued. "Yes. Now this is the royal family. This label towering over the rest is the God of light, Felinaria. Before everything came to what we have now, when Praeditians arrived here in Praediti the Gods chose a leader to protect their people. The God of Light, along with the God of Darkness, are superior to the other Gods. The royal family was chosen by God Felinaria earning the name Felinar." He breathed.

Eliana cleared her throat, it was probably about time to get used to everything she will learn. She can't keep getting shocked over the information.

Praediti is indeed a special world beyond her imagination.

"From generations to generations, the sole mission of the Felinars is to rule over the four Elemental lands. Uniting with the respective leaders of each land to protect everyone against the Dark continent." Moz then begins to connect the tree. "This is the man who was passed on by God Felinaria, he is Elius Fjor De La Felinar. Now, you can go over the rest of the kings written in history later. What you need to know now is the current living royal family and the leaders."

Eliana nodded understanding. "Alright."

"This is his highness the late king of Felinar, King Edryfed Gus De La Felinar. His betrothed the late Queen Amelia De La Felinar."

Eliana gaped. "What the- their names are long and mouthful!"

Moz shushed her disrespectful reaction. "Do not react like that Eliana, that is improper and disrespectful. They are especially deceased."

Eliana frowned a little. "Don't you think their names are weirdly long?"

"No. It is normal, and not weird as the adjective you use. Wistal bares a name equally long as the King." Moz countered.

Eliana plastered an embarrassed smile. "I kinda forgot his name, what was it again? I remember it was long."

"Eldred Wistal De La Felinar, you must always remember Eliana. You are his niece, royal blood is suppose to run through your vessels." He reminded me.

Eliana sighed but agreed nonetheless. "Carry on Moz."
