Where Is Your Dress?

Yu Daiyu was stunned as she looked at the person who had rolled down the window and was looking at her. It was a man in his twenties. He looked quite spirited and seemed like a mixed-blood. However, she didn't know him.

Just as she was about to continue her way to the cab, the person in the car suddenly called her name. "Yu Daiyu, isn't it?"

Yu Daiyu immediately stopped and turned to him doubtfully, but her eyes were alert. "And you are?"

The man in the car smiled at her. "I'm a police officer, my name is Jack. A few days ago, when I took Mr. Yan Zixin away from the Xian Corporation building, Miss Yu, I talked to you at that time."

Yu Daiyu didn't have much of an impression of him. Only when she saw him take out his work card did she relax a little. However, she still looked at him with a puzzled expression on her face. "Okay, and how do you know my name?"

"I called you a few days ago to tell you about Mr. Yan Zixin's condition. But at that time, you didn't seem to be in a good mood, and your tone was curt. Since you're related to Mr. Yan Zixin, we naturally know some brief information about you. Knowing your name isn't an exaggeration."

This was indeed true. Yu Daiyu smiled awkwardly in response. "So that's how it is, but officer, Yan Zixin and I really have no relationship."

"This has nothing to do with the case, Miss Yu. It's going to rain soon, and at this time of the day, it's quite difficult for you to find a cab. I saw you standing here and felt that you looked familiar. That's why I stopped. Would you like to get into my car and let me send you off?"

Yu Daiyu hesitated for a moment and looked up at the sky again. It was almost raining. She smiled gratefully. "Thank you, officer and sorry for the trouble."

"No problem."

It wasn't until she had gotten into the car and fastened her seatbelt that it began to rain heavily outside. Yu Daiyu looked outside and asked after thinking for a moment. "How is Yan Zixin?"

"He has a fractured spine and needs to rest in the hospital for a few weeks. When his family arrived at the hospital, they angrily asked you to take responsibility. However, Mr. Yan Zixin said it was his own fault and asked the police not to bother you."

"Heh, he finally came to his senses after the fall and knows not to mess with me." Yu Daiyu laughed softly for a moment, but said nothing else. Instead, she continued to look outside.

She thanked Jack profusely for driving her back to the apartment, but he just smiled and said, "You are too kind, Miss Yu. We can be friends from now on. My name is Jack, you must remember my name."

Yu Daiyu nodded with a smile and watched Jack drive away. Then she took her luggage back to her apartment.

Yu Daiyu took out some clothes from the luggage, but these clothes were all soiled with the dirty basketballs and footballs that the brat boy, Yu Bolin, had put in the closet.

Especially the dress she would wear at the event. She obediently returned to the Yu Residence today, because her apartment was too small, and her closet was too small, so she could not keep many clothes there. The clothes she did not wear often, they would all be kept at home.

Since it was already late, she could not wash the dress by hand. She was afraid that her dress wouldn't have time to dry. With furrowed brows, Yu Daiyu looked at the dirty part of the dress and sighed.

The next day, after work, the manager of the Planning Department called Yu Daiyu through the internal line to inform her that Wei Zhengsheng was waiting for her downstairs.

Yu Daiyu remembered that she hadn't had time to buy a new dress yet, so she answered casually. She then slowly packed her things and hoped that Wei Zhengsheng would go to the event alone, as he was already impatiently waiting for her.

However, heaven did not grant her this wish. When Yu Daiyu finally went downstairs, she saw a Bentley parked in front of the company's main entrance and Wei Zhengsheng standing by the car, chatting with a company executive.

Yu Daiyu had no choice but to walk slowly towards him.

When he saw that she had come out, Wei Zhengsheng waved at the company executive with a smile. After the company executive left, he looked at Yu Daiyu. "It took you a long time to come down. I thought you had already put on your dress."

He looked at the bag in her hand. It was not big, so it shouldn't fit her dress nor her other clothes. He looked at her and asked, "Yu Daiyu, where is your dress?"

Yu Daiyu smiled awkwardly. "President Wei, I'm really sorry. I don't have the right dress to wear."

"Your Planning Department's manager told Secretary Dai that you already have your own dress, so the company didn't prepare it specially for you." Wei Zhengsheng didn't seem to like this kind of change that didn't go according to his plan. He frowned and looked at her embarrassed face. In a deep voice, he said, "Get in the car."

"President Wei, I don't have the right clothes. I think it's better if I don't go." Yu Daiyu said, looking up suddenly.

Wei Zhengsheng didn't seem to hear her. He walked around his car and got into the driver's seat. Yu Daiyu walked over and leaned against the window. "President Wei ...."

"I said get in the car." He looked at her for a moment. His gaze was very calm, but the tone of his voice... It was as if he didn't like her deliberate dawdling.

Yu Daiyu deliberately waited outside, but there was no change in the end. She could only open the car door and get in. Wei Zhengsheng didn't even look at her before he started the car and drove in the other direction.

Ten minutes later, the silver-gray Bentley pulled up on a busy commercial street in the heart of Boston. Wei Zhengsheng called someone as soon as he got out of the car. "Christine, prepare a few dresses, bags and shoes that are suitable for the young woman. I'll be there in five minutes."

Yu Daiyu dazedly followed the big boss to a shopping mall. Someone approached them and politely greeted Wei Zhengsheng before leading them to the store on the second floor.
