Chapter*Thirty-seven

Kani's POV

At the mall

Jason and I were basically dashing around the mall to find somewhere 'fun'.

This boy is really something.

We ran past a Dave & Buster's and immediately backed out our steps to look at the arcade.

Jason looked at me with eagerness in his eyes and grabbed my hand once again only to rush in and place me at a Batman racing game.

I looked at him unamused.

"Really? Out of all the games here you choose this one?"

He looked at me and put his hands together in a pleading way. "Please Kani just this once and after this I'll let you choose everything else."

He pleaded. He sounds like a kid asking to play outside one more time.

I looked at him feeling shameful yet powerful."Fine, but when were finished with this game I'll show you the wonders of an arcade."

He nodded immediately and rushed towards the racing game. We played a few rounds and I won all of them, obviously.

I turned to face him."Are you ready for some real fun?" I asked with a grin. He grinned just as wide as me when he responded with his fingers crossed.

I lead him to the ice skating ring and he was immediately amazed. He never skated before so he looked like a baby giraffe who's trying to walk. His eyes we're sparkling with amazement. He looked like he had just had entered heaven.

He's really a kid in a 16 year old boys body.

Hours had passed by and Jason was walking me home with the pink bear stuffed animal I bought him. He said it reminds him of his younger sister, Jayla. Although it was a thirty minute walk from the mall to my house. It was worth it. He insisted and said he'd walk back to get his car later. He said he's being a gentleman.

What an idiot. If he really was a gentleman he'd let me sit in the car with air conditioning, but the walk was nice.

I put my hands behind my back as I glanced at Jason who seemed to be zoned out. So I decided to brighten the atmosphere.

"What do you thinks gonna happen? When your mom finds out I mean."

Ah, yes because talking about the one thing we're both worried about 'lightens the atmosphere'.

He clenched the bear tighter and strained his eyebrows." I'm not sure, but whatever happens we'll always be inseparable friends right?" He said as he stared at me with hopefulness in his eyes.

My heart hurt a little. Even though we we're friends I wished we more. Ever since that kiss it feels like we're friends with benefits and I hate that. There's nothing I can really do about it anyway. Jason's going to find his bride in two years and when he does or if we're still friends at all by then. Then I'm happy for him. I'll always be happy for him.

Before I knew it  we we're standing in front of my house. Jason looked at me with tired eyes."Today was fun,wasn't it?" I said trying to forget what I had thought about a few seconds ago." Yeah it sure was." He said nodding his head at me happily." I'll see you tomorrow?" He said curiously, but I knew that he already knew my answer.

"Of course idiot I don't get that sick easily and I'm not missing another day of school. I've skipped so much school from the past month." I said a bit irritated.

He laughed and smiled me, I noticed those big brown eyes staring at me softly."Well, goodnight Cookie."He teased.

"Goodbye idiot." I said as I teased back. He starts walking backwards as he disappears into the street.

I carefully walk into my house like I would be caught doing something I'm not supposed too. I pass the living room entrance only to see that there were three unfamiliar faces sitting down on our grey couches. My Mom came to me out of nowhere and patted my back.

"Kani the Australian family is here. Go and greet them." She said pushing me slightly.

"But-"

"Greet them." She bared the words through her teeth. She was basically threatening me.

I quickly walked over to the living room and sat down.

"You must be Kani! I've heard so much about you. You can call Mrs.June and this is my husband William." The woman had short brown hair, yellow dress, red lipstick, and white high heels. Her husband was going bald and had a plump figure. I turned to face the boy who was quiet the whole time. My eyes quickly widened when I realized that he was the kid that smiled at me in the hallway. " Nice to meet you." I finally said back.

She pointed to her son who was slouching on the couch with a tired look on his face.

"And this handsome boy is my son, Fryday."

His name is Fryday?

This is too good.

I covered my mouth with my hand as I tried to hold in my laughter."Nice to meet you." I said looking at him. He looked at me and smiled.

He seemed nice.

His parents soon left the room and it was just me and Fryday."So,Fryday was it? I'm Kani." I introduced myself.

He stopped slouching to face me and looked me dead in my eye." Listen Kani, your not my type so while I'm staying here keep your hormones under control okay? So with that being said leave me alone." He said annoyed. He got up and left the room. I looked up at him disgusted as he left the room, he didn't notice though.

So another idiot?
