Chapter*Sixty-one

Kani's POV

Saturday

I walked through the park with Jason. He said he wanted to tell me something important.

It better be important.

It looks like it's going to rain any moment. I am not trying to get my hair wet.

"Kani I have something to tell you." Jason said and stopped walking. He had the most guiltiest look on his face.

"Speak up then Jason." I said without hesitation in my voice. He played with the end of his shirt and tapped his foot. He was restless.

"Remember when your mom got fired?" He said and stopped making eye contact with me.

"Your still hung up from that?" I lied to him.

I also have something to confess.

Ever since the "The Queen plans to attack" article came out I new she found out about Jason and I, but to be honest I didn't know she'd go as far as getting my mom fired from the most paying job she has. So it only made sense to me that the Queen was behind all of this.

When I became Jason's girlfriend that's when I started to worry that he probably won't confess or there's more that I should know. Now that I'm here at the park with him it looks like he'll finally tell the truth.

"She got a part time job at a retail store so we're alright-" I said trying to get him to blurt it out whatever he wants to say.

"My mom got your mom fired!" He said quickly and immediately lowered his head."I know." I said calmly and looking at my nails. His head immediately perked up and he had a shocked expression on his face.

"Y-you knew all along? How is that possible? I kept it from you-"

"Yes you did keep it from me for over a month and here we are slowly approaching Christmas and now you tell me?" I said calmly and Jason never looked so ashamed.

"Kani please please please forgive me! I panicked and wanted to tell you at the right time, which happens to be a month later." He said with his head down.

"I'll forgive you, but you have to tell me when stuff like this happens. Were in this together now, no mote secrets." I said and he looked up at me to smile.

"I promise."

"Also my mom already completed strike two and the press is slowly catching on to my mom." He said and intertwined his hands with mine.

"What should we do?" I said as we continue to walk down the rocky road in the park.

"There's not much we can do. At the end of the day she's a Queen and I'm a Prince. I can't win with her." Jason said sighing heavily.

"Do you have a plan at least?" I said with a pitched voice."I do and it involves my brother and my sister." He said happily."I don't like where this is going."

"It's not like she'll kill us or anything. She's the Queen she still has a reputation to keep up with."

"That's what you think." I scoffed at him."That's what I know." He says cockily and smirks to himself.

I roll my eyes at him and for the past hour we just stroll through the park hand in hand and talking about things like dragons.

I already know for sure this isn't going to to go as smoothly as he thinks.

Meanwhile in England

Jayla's POV

______________________________________________________________________________________________

The Queen slams her hand down on the table causing me to jump in my spot. I've never seen her this angry before

"She can't get away so easily!" She yells and I bow my head to her."Mother please calm down it's-"

"Calm down? How can I be calm in a situation like this? The press is boarding me with questions about my son rebeling against me!" She yelled again, cutting me off.

"The people have started to doubt me and there has been rumors going around that he has a girlfriend! He is ruining everything! He is no son of mine!" She says as she throws the cup of tea off the table and balls her fists.

"Mother why are you being this way? I have already agreed to marry Lisa. So why are you still-" Jacob tried to say as he bowed his head, but mother cut him off.

"Quiet! You have disobeyed me as well! You have the nerve to come back here after you ran to the states with my son! I should have you ripped of your title!" She yells again and Jacob gets on his knees and bows his head which is almost touching the floor.

"Mother please forgive me I have only done what was best for him. Please spare me mother." Jacob said quickly.

"Mother, what do you plan to do to bring him back? The people are already angry and doubting you. It's likely that if we don't act soon someone will get hurt." I said and I felt Jacobs worried eyes look over my way, but he didn't dare speak not after mother's threat.

"What are you implying?" The Queen says curiously and I bow my head again.

"I say we keep the girl safe for now. If we keep her alive Jason will surely keep his guard down and when he does that's the chance to get rid of her." I said as I smiled to myself.

"You have quite the eyes Jayla, but how do you know that this will work?"

"She's just a commoner she can't do anything even if she tried as for Jason he is already being doubted by the people because of her. If we keep her safe and not say a word she will suspect something odd. Which is why we will carry out with your strike two mother." I said and she just smiled at me.

"Very well, I will look into this more and as for you Jacob, I will spare you. Only because you have such a smart younger sister." The Queen said before getting out of her chair.

Everyone in the room bowed thier heads respectfully as she left the room then the servants followed. Now me and Jacob were alone.

Before I could turn to leave Jacob spoke up." What are you up to?"

I turned to face him with a smirk on my face."I may be the youngest, but I am the smartest. Your only here because of me. Your title would be gone by now so who should you thank? Secondly don't get in the way or you'll get hurt."

I said before walking past him.

"Bring him to his room." I said to the servants before leaving with a smile spread across my face.

Now it's my turn to show everyone what I'm capable of.
