2738 Rewards from the Fallen

This fight was truly a close one, if Shi Feng hadn't had his summon prepare the taboo skill he would've lost. Even though Kent's hp had reached zero he was not dead yet. While on his knees and holding his wound he looked up to Shi Feng and said weakly.

"Young adventure I have accepted this defeat cough cough" Kent started coughing up blood but he mustered the strength and continued

"As the one who has defeated me. Please take this" Kent then passed Shi Feng an egg the size of an adult head and made of what looked like diamond with divine runes carved on it.

"I ask you to take care of it. In the future the demon gods will invade. I have seen a prophecy of it. What's inside this egg may save the continent."

With his dying last breath Kent said

"Get stronger young swordsman, the fate of gods domain rests in your hands."

And with that Kent disappeared in a ray of light and a system notification sounded in Shi Feng's ears.

System: Congratulations! You have killed the Fallen Kent. You may head to the Adventure Association at a later time to retrieve your reward.

"How much have I screwed up the timeline?" Shi Feng wondered, the demon gods were always meant to appear in the main continent but it was never such a big deal, at least he got something that can help him in his divine quest. Shi Feng then inspected the egg, he had no idea what was in this thing but he could feel a faint life in it and when he focused he felt a powerful but very subtle mana raging in the egg.

"Is this a dragon egg!?" Shi Feng got excited if this was a dragon egg and he raised a dragon not even gods would dare provoke him, but that's wishful thinking.

He went and inspected the items Kent had dropped and became depressed.

Canyon Cutter was a legit legendary weapon but it had disappeared along with the light, he was hoping to give it to Gentle Snow or Shadow Sword. After all Canyon Cutter is significantly stronger than Glorious Will even after Shi Feng had upgraded it with the holy grail and Shadow Sword only had one fragmented legendary item. It is Crimson Moon, the great sword they got from the holy city of Titan trial. Shadow Sword got lucky and managed to upgrade the weapon with the reward he got from the tower of four gods. But it wasn't too bad, Kent actually dropped over twenty elemental source crystals. As Shi Feng was picking up the crystals he felt the egg vibrate. "Does this thing require elemental source crystals?" He then placed one crystal next to the egg and then all the energy in the crystal was absorbed in the egg making the runes glow a bright yellow till the crystal disappeared. Shi Feng placed more next to it and the egg absorbed them all till the fourteenth crystal. Shi Feng's eyes glowed, even though taking care of this egg is extremely expensive the law of equivalent exchange in gods domain would mean that what's ever in this egg is extremely powerful. It might not be a dragon but anything that feeds off elemental source crystals as an egg can definitely rival dragons. I need to establish a base in the Bermuda Islands asap. While the lost light plains produced elemental source crystals the Bermuda Island produced way more, and from what he knows about hatching eggs in the game is that the more powerful the creature inside of it is, the more resources needed to hatch it and raise it. While Shi Feng is starting to get depressed for his wallet, if this egg can help him with his divine quest it would be worth the investment.

"If I remember correctly mysterious flames can help hatch eggs as well."

Shi Feng then activated the soul fire and then silver flames gently wrapped around the egg, as it did the runes in it glowed a gentle blue and he could feel the raging mana in the egg calm down almost as if the creature was going to sleep. Shi Feng then made it so that his soul fire would last a while and he placed the egg in his epic bag space. It is time to go and claim his rewards. Shi Feng teleported to White River city and went to the adventure association to turn in his quest.

After telling the female receptionist Shi Feng was lead to a private VIP room, after waiting for a few minutes Renee the vice chairman of the adventure association the same one that had given Shi Feng the Sacred Stone came in.

"Lord protector you are certainly amazing! These Fallen have been a thorn in our sides for so long. Now that you have dealt with them our kingdom can continue knowing that one less evil has been cleansed." Renee said with a beautiful smile when she saw Shi Feng.

"Please follow me for your reward" Shi Feng and Renee then went to the association's treasury. Renee then went inside and after a little bit she came out holding a what seemed to be an ancient book.

"Lord Protector seeing as how you are a Duke and own territory, we would like to give you this. This is a design for a Sky Fusion Tower." Renee said.

When Shi Feng heard Sky Fusion Tower he felt paralyzed. Sky fusion towers are a peak construction in the game said to be more powerful than the four elemental tower in Zero Wing city. In the past very few guilds had these towers and those who did had a city population of at least ten million. When Renee saw that Shi Feng didn't say anything she said "Lord Protector if this isn't satisfactory we can always offer you a fragmented legendary item."

"No Lady Renee, this item is perfect I will take it!" Shi Feng said, only a fool of a guild leader would reject a peak tower for a fragmented legendary equipment. After accepting his reward Shi Feng was about to head to stone forest city where the Secret pavilion and Thirteen Thrones were waiting for him.

As he was walking in the streets he noticed something. There were much more tier 4 and 3 NPCs walking about. NPCs grow stronger as the average player population becomes stronger. For a kingdom like StarMoon Kingdom, this many tier 4 and 3 NPCs just patrolling the streets is a little unusual.

"Is this the effect of clearing two SSS rank quests?" The sign of more powerful NPCs means a kingdom is growing stronger. This excited Shi Feng. Before he can bring out a teleportation scroll and teleport to stone forest city Aqua Rose had called him.

"Aqua what's wrong had something happened with the guild?" Shi Feng asked, currently the bright and cheery Aqua had a depressed and helpless look on her face.

"Guild leader the Open Source Corporation had annexed Twilight Echo and is in the process of kicking the Sun and Moon group out. I have no idea what to do." Aqua said meekly.
