2783 Capturing the Orc City

The silver gem in his hand is called a pyrite spirit. It is one of the few items in the game that has an effect on players' souls.

The soul for players mainly refers to their minds and is the core of everything in God's Domain. If your soul is powerful enough even your physique will improve.

The pyrite spirit doesn't fall into the category of soul strengthening but soul manipulation. It's a very special type of manipulation as well. The effect on players is minimal, but it has a huge impact on NPCs.

Normally only soul absorbing creatures like some monsters from the endless abyss can drop this and the drop rate is frustratingly low.

The fact that he got a pretty decent one after killing a few hundred of those things was incredible. He most likely killed a grand lord ranked leech at least.

Unfortunately he obtained only one, if he had a few more completing the legendary quest to stop the birth of the Evil God would be a piece of cake.

"Vice Temple Master, Black Flame really is one greedy bastard. He basically wants all our guilds to manage the city while he sits back and enjoys the money," a young ranger youth told Quiet Melody in a very displeased tone.

"That man does have a very big appetite but ancient Rock City is in a strategic location. Also the guild needs funds more than ever. Things are heating up in the Sea of Death and I heard that War Blood is making a return. This time they are being led by that psycho."

"With two other superpowers assistance we can make a nice profit from the city. Agree to Black Flames request and send a team to observe the city assault. I'm very curious as to how he plans to capture it," Quiet Melody said with a playful look.

While similar conversations were held in Crimson Emperor, and BlackWater Shi Feng led a 1000 man legion towards AncientRock City.

The neutral map was still infested with many Evil Leeches and without permission from the Evil God's Temple or special arrays, going outside would be suicide.

Unfortunately for the leeches, they were swatted away like bugs as Zero Wing's steel giants rammed through them.

With four imposing Crimson Dragon Airships being led by two Shooting Light Airships six rays of sunlight appeared in the blacked out sky as the airships jetted through the sky.

In the leading ship Shi Feng sat patiently in the pilot cabin as he was teaching Ember.

"In order to activate the magic circles, you need to connect this array here, so that the mana can flow through the whole thing," he informed her. Shi Feng did a little demo for her to see. "Now you try."

Ember looked at the array pattern and lazily attempted it. After a few seconds the lights for the magic array started to glow. Shi Feng's face lit up with happiness. Suddenly!

Boom!

A little explosion of dust occurred covering his face with smoke. This caused the little fairy to laugh playfully.

"What's wrong, this array shouldn't be hard for you? If you put in the effort you can learn it easily," Shi Feng asked the little girl.

This magic array he was trying to teach Ember was the key to capturing Ancient Rock City, but it's not something he could do by himself in a short amount of time, so he would require help. Unfortunately he is the only grandmaster magician in the guild.

The closest people to becoming master magicians are Aqua Rose, Violet Cloud, Yi Loufei, and Phoenix Rain. That's why he's trying to teach Ember to do it. With a little effort Ember can learn almost any spell, she can even perform spells above her tier. Since the construction of magic arrays have some similarities to spell creation she should be able to do it. But for some reason she isn't even trying which confused him.

"Kyuu!"

Even though he didn't understand the language of the ArchFairy, he knew what Ember was saying on a spiritual level. "You don't want to learn this array. Why not?"

"Kyuu! Kyuu!" The girl flapped her wings as she waved her arms through the air to signify a battle scene.

"You want to go out there and kill enemies, but if you're busy managing the array you won't be able to."

"Kyuu," she shook her head yes. The last time there was a big battle, she didn't get to participate much, but now she has the chance to show her capabilities and have some fun. Why would she pass it up just to manage some magic array.

Shi Feng gave the little fairy an incredulous look. He had no idea where she got this attitude from. 1

Normally familiars will do their utmost for their owners but because of the pseudo contract Ember can do as she pleases. He didn't have the time for this and the array was important so he decided to show some tough love.

"Listen, this will help you in the future so you have to learn it. If you still refuse to give it your best, I'll only give you magic crystals to eat from now on," Shi Feng said in a very strict manner.

Of course he was only bluffing. Feeding Ember magic crystals will drastically slow her growth, and she might not be strong enough to help him with the Demon Gods invasion. He would never do something so stupid.

When Ember heard this, her eyes immediately went wide with shock and disbelief and her little mouth hung open. She couldn't fathom what she just heard.

Magic crystals weren't nearly as good as the elemental source crystals and high ranked dishes that Shi Feng feeds her. After tasting such delicacies on a regular basis how could she ever go back to magic crystals.

After seeing the serious look on Shi Feng's face she started to look around the room. Her eyes fell on Violet and Summer who were sitting nearby. As the two looked into Ember's big blinking eyes they couldn't help themselves. They signaled to her that they got her back, but before she could celebrate, Shi Feng shut that down real quick.

"Don't look at them, they won't help you. Only mastering this array can save you."

Ember stuck out her tongue at him and started to seriously learn the magic array. Seeing this pleased Shi Feng.

Gentle Snow walked into the pilot room. "Guild Leader, I've finished organizing everyone and giving them their task, but are you sure we only need 1000 people. Maybe we should call some members of the Dark Gods legion?"

Of the players in the army, only a little over 40 were tier 4 players. The rest were tier 3 players stationed at Silver Wing City. Most of them haven't even fully unlocked their mana bodies yet. Even though superpowers would fear such a force, in front of the defenses of Ancient Rock City, it is only cute.

"Yeah they will be enough, too many people can make things messy. Besides this will help our tier 3 experts, they need to get stronger in order to pass their tier 4 promotion quest. Fighting should help them unlock their mana body," Shi Feng said.

Most players will never reach tier 4. There had been plenty of refinement realm experts in his past life stuck at tier 3 for years. Only after ten years did these experts finally start passing their promotion quest, half step Refinement Realm experts started reaching tier 4 in that time frame as well. Even he had been an inch away from tier 4 then.

But he doesn't have ten years. He had underestimated his effect on the timeline. The various superpowers are nurturing tier 4 players much faster than he expected. If they surpass Zero Wing in this matter, these powers will take the chance to wipe them out.

Of course he could help more players pass their promotion quest by creating more tier 4 mana sets for them, but if they hadn't unlocked their mana bodies when they become tier 4, it would only be counter productive.

Trying to fully unlock a tier 4 mana body is much more difficult than a tier 3 one, and players aren't considered true powerhouses unless they unlock their mana body.

Besides there's a limit to how many Moon Strider Sets he can make.

Unfortunately he can't send large amounts of people into the extraordinary tower to help them unlock their many bodies nor the Star Light fortress as those facilities have long cooldowns.

But fighting in an area heavily tainted with evil energy should be of some help, that's why he selected relatively talented players for this raid.

"Guild Leader, we will reach Ancient Rock City in a few minutes," An assassin reported.

"Good start to hand these potions out to everyone. When the raid starts make sure you all follow your assigned task. We will give Beast Emperor a beating like never before."

Ancient Rock City, Evil Temple

Hundreds of flying worm-like creatures flew into the monster infested city. The horrific figures of these hundreds of abominations will make even the most battle hardened individuals shiver.

As the works flew into the city they made their way for the main temple. As they entered the Leeches landed on top of a giant 50 meter figure, encased in crystal.

They then stopped their mouths into the giant crystals as a red and silver energy flowed out of them into the crystal. This energy was very eerie; nothing like the green and vibrant life energy in players.

But oddly enough as more of the energy into the crystal, the figure in it seemed to become more and more alive.

When the leeches finished they started to shrivel up and die, falling to the ground. The nearby Evil Beast would then eat the corpse. The whole thing very disturbing.

Beast Emperor and Wind Hunter watch the whole process with glee.

"Boss once this beast is fully revived, the whole eastern continent will have to bow to us," Wind Hunter said with a joyous tone.

"We will need more of his kind if we want to rule the entire continent but we should have no problem eradicating all those who oppose us." Beast Emperor said in response.

"Haha, your right boss, even Black Flame will have to bow at your feet!"

Beast Emperor twitched at the words Black Flame. "If that wretched fool was in front of me, I would end him slowly as I made him feel the unspeakable horrors his game character would experience at my Evil Beast." Every word of that sentence was spoken with utter hate and malice by Beast Emperor.

As the two were discussing a cursemancer barged into the plaza. "Excuse me boss, but it seems like Zero Wing is on the way here! They mobilized a 1000 man legion of tier 3 and 4 players. We suspect that Black Flame is the one leading them!" The subordinate urgently reported.

"Speak of the devil! Boss leave this to me, I'll make sure to personally bring Black Flame to your feet," Wind Hunter said confidently.

He was only talking to a hologram of Beast Emperor as the man was somewhere else busy with a task.

"Okay but be careful. If things seem to go south escape, I can't afford to lose another apostle slot," Beast Emperor warned.

He only has five Evil God Apostle slots and Shi Feng had already sent three of them to the War God's Temple. He can still get by with two but if he loses another one, it's the end for his career in the Evil God's Temple.

"Don't worry boss, I'll make sure to be extra care-," before Wind Hunter could finish his sentence, a phantom world descended upon him, cutting off the hologram of Beast Emperor.
