"Yes, I did Mrs. Daigle. But I didn't mean to. Cases as such needs wisdom. What if you rushed here so fast that you had an accident on the way?"
"That doesn't change the fact that you lied to me. And it also doesn't change the fact that those children are still in that city! What exactly are you Mrs. Jana? How can you let children into a tour as dangerous as that? It's been 20years since Emma died and the whole thing still doesn't mean anything to you."
"Do not mention her name here! Remember you assisted in her dead with those girls. So stop acting as if I killed her. By the way Elmont is safe now. It's no longer destructive as before. I've contacted a number of times to check on them and everything is fine. The kids will soon be back"
Victoria is fed up so much so that she doesn't know what to say and how to react other than the unpleasant look she's putting on. It tells disgust. Towards Mrs. Jana.
"You've so much crossed your limits Mrs. Jana. But right now I won't let that stupid contract of yours to ruin my only life. I may have pretended that nothing abominable happened in the past. But that doesn't mean I'd seat and fold my arms to let it recount. You must tell them to return right here and now!"
"If not what Victoria?" Mrs. Jana stands as an objection.
She doesn't want to loose the fame her school will be having this year. All the kids she sacrificed into her occult are for the growth of this institution. And until another student dies in this trip, she won't let them return.
Nice's mom was ignorant about this principle 20years ago. But after this gesticulation from Mrs. Jana, she's certain this woman has her hands stained.
The principal rubs her palm over her face "I've told you and will still keep telling you that they are fine. Let's not ruin the trip already. Once their back, you can talk to Nice. What happened in the past won't recount itself. I didn't last year or years back. What makes you think it will now?"
"Now I see that you wanted Emma dead; because you never cared of her. You didn't find justice for the ladies who murdered her but rather hid it from everyone's acknowledgement, including her family; all because of your school's name. You care more about this building and not the children living within!"
"Watch your words Victoria. If not for me, you should been arrested, because you were present when everything happened. You didn't do anything. If you really wanted to safe her life, you would've called for help"
She crosses her arm "Well, I guess you just used my situation to cover up who you truly are. If you are innocent towards Emma's dead as you claim to be, you'd make a call now"
Mrs. Jana is squinting her eyes towards the woman ahead of her. What exactly does this woman know about her to make such accusations?
...
"I've been trying to reach her out since the first day" Mr. Michael tells his colleagues, Mrs. Jana being the topic of discussion.
"What exactly was her reason for us to come tour the kids here though?" a man questions amongst them.
"What exactly could be the reason to tour kids if not for education?" Mr. Michael responds questioningly.
A lady looks up from her smartphone "No signal. But, I'm able to use internet through my WIFI. And guess what I've just discovered?
They look at her with expectations as she reads out a few lines from Wikipedia talking about Elmont.
"This place has been filled with extreme creatures since 20years back. It was said that an accident took place with a young lady being a victim. And that's why the blood of this teen; who was just a student evoked evilness. Only a few get the chance to leave there alive-"
She stops in her last sentence, hanging to see everyone already staring back at her with fearfully.
Evelyn walks from over the corridor and picks up her stuff. She has been acting weird since last night after checking on the generator.
They stare at her, with the same expression they have been putting on. She pulls her travelling case and steps out and they stare back at one another questioningly.
Mr. Michael goes after her "Evelyn" he calls but she doesn't stop.
He meets her pace and blocks her path "Where are you going with your things?"
"Home" she says like someone who has been programmed.
His eyebrows come together at her stance "Why? Is there something you need to tell me? You've been acting really strange since yesterday"
She smiles. The same smile she rendered to him in the storeroom.
"No, Michael. I'm fine. Can I go now?" she inclines, gaining a confused gaze from him.
"If there's nothing wrong then why are you living?"
"I can't tell you." She answers looking straight ahead, away from his gaze.
He follows her eyesight behind him and wonders why she keep looking there steadily.
"Why not?"
Her eyes meet his instantly and a shock travels to his spine, causing him to blink abruptly
"Because if you know, you'd be dead. I should go now" she saunters past him
He giants her again "No you can't. We need to stick together. And concerning what you said I need to know every single thing. What exactly will make me dead?"
She looks at him in wrath. But he still can't let her go. The others join them at once. He sees panic on their faces, and focuses on them "What's wrong?"
"A student...is missing"
He blinks his eyes a few number of times "W-what?"
...
"I can't get to them. Certainly network" Mrs. Jana says after forcing to make a call.
Victoria is frustrated. She's not sure she's going survive any longer without hearing from her child.
"Is he the only one with a phone there?" she asks about Mr. Michael
"I don't know. His number is the only number I have registered here"
"Can you even listen to yourself? You couldn't even make sure you can conveniently reach them out if something happens. Are you a mother at all?"
"I'm a good mom. Do I need to remind you I have a granddaughter now"
Victoria scoffs "I doubt you care about her. Just bossing around."
"What type of mom doesn't love her child?"
"You! You are that type of mom who doesn't love any being. It was better you never gave birth. Some people prefer not to get married or have children. Why didn't you just stick to that rather than wasting humanity?"
"I've had enough of your insults victoria. You should go home. You won't want to spend a night here" she walks off her table towards a shelf.
"Thanks. I'd certainly stay. Because I'm not leaving here without being sure those kids will be back" she settles on a seat in front of Mrs. Jana's desk
"I don't have a room reserved for you here Mrs. Daigle. Your husband should be worried after you. I'm very sure he doesn't know his wife is here"
Victoria rolls her eyes as Mrs. Daigle excuses herself and walks out to another room through the same office.
Mrs. Daigle doesn't mind spending her life here. She won't let any kid perish for as long as she lives.
Mrs. Jana is tapping on her phone from behind the silent door of her office.
"Victoria is here. She doesn't want to leave and keeps threatening to expose us" Mrs. Jana complains to the proprietress.
"You should deal with her. It's long time we stop keeping her. She's of no use to us"
"We can't just do that. If it was possible I could've done it long time ago. The real deal is Emma's ghost. She has her covered. And until we stop her spirit from roaming we won't be able to deal with Victoria"
The woman over the phone sighs "Ok. Just try everything to make her leave"
"I've tried. She won't. She's so stubborn like her daughter" Mrs. Jana grits the last sentence.
Mrs. Jana's office
Mrs. Daigle messages her husband after several missed calls and SMS.
Hi buddy. I won't be coming anytime soon. Mrs. Jana lied to me; the kids are still in the woods. I'm sorry I didn't inform you before leaving. I couldn't bare it if you stopped me again.
He texts back almost immediately.
Common, Vic, you should've told me. You got me so worried.
To be continued...
