Before it Happened

As Katie was walking to the cafe down the road before going to the office, she ordered the original, a cappuccino and a muffin. She sat at her original table, the one near the window and close to where she can see the park. Katie continues to eat her muffin while taking small sips of her coffee. She smiles as today is her mother's birthday. She'll have to visit her grave and bring her mother a rose.

It's the least she can do. What else can Katie do to make the past alive? She doesn't have powers to help her dead parents come back to life. They knew they shouldn't have left Katie alone with Alice. They've had a perfect year. A son, which Katie doesn't know of, a wealthy life, and a beautiful mansion. In which Katie still doesn't want to live in. She doesn't want to live in a place where her parents have been in.

As she finished up her small snack she went and put the rest in the trash before going to her work. She worked in an office not too far from here. Katie works as a journalist, she writes a lot. She really hopes that the story she is writing would help her some bit. Like say, make her happy. Katie looks at her bag. She searched for her ID card. Just so she won't have trouble getting in without Damian coming over and asking permission for her to come in - happens a lot - just because Damian is sweet, way too sweet.

As she walks through the doors, the main news reporters were on the painting on one side. Sam and Charlie, Charlie is short for Charlotte. Something about them tells Katie that they don't care about the news only for the fame, that they have gotten. While on the other hand, Katie, Damian, Amelia, and Jay are the only four who do work.

Damian Gray is Katie's close friend and almost like a brother. He has jet black hair and green and blue eyes. He inherited that from his mother, Candice. He is quite handsome to be just a journalist. To be honest, Damian and Amelia should be the ones doing the news other than Sam and Charlie. In conclusion, Damian is like those models or playboys.

Amelia Elliot is her other close friend almost like her mother. She has golden blonde hair, very blue eyes like the sky. She had the perfect body to be also a model but Amelia wanted to be in the spotlight of a television show. Ever since her father left her mother at a very young age, she regained confidence that those words that her father said to her don't matter to her, as long as she got Jay.

Jay Elliot is Amelia's bother. Jay is the youngest one by being 29. Jay had the features of his father. Brown feather hair that shines bright in the sunlight. Green forest eyes that are almost equivalent to the ones of an emerald. Jay's father didn't tell him any words other than that he loved him and take care. His father loved him more than he did to Amelia.

That didn't matter to either of them, but for Katie it was. Katie or Kathrine Kordense has jet black hair and red or maroon eyes which she inherited from her father. She used to have a personality of creativity and intelligent but it's been fading ever since her parents died.

"Katie! Guess what!" Amelia says as she walks over to me. Her hair was done in curls today. Her brother was behind her.

"What?" Katie says trying to not ruin the mood, even though she ruins it in the end.

"Charlie is leaving! She is going to Chenai to sign as a news reporter over there. So they are hiring a new news reporter!" Amelia says.

"That's great news. Amelia, you should take it." She says as she walks to the main room. She shows her ID to the security before going in.

"You know about me liking Sam!" Amelia says.

"How about you Jay?" Katie says looking at the brunette boy.

"No, I quite like being behind the making of the news," Jay says as we took our regular sitting.

"Oh! What about Damian! You know he probably took it!" Amelia says.

"He better not," Katie says. Fear of losing him from all the women that have a thing for him.

"Katie, he has a mind of his own. He can join in if he wants. He might as well sign a contract to be a model." Amelia says.

Damian Gray signing to be a model. News to me. That be adorable. Him walking down the catwalk. Showing off new clothing. Okay maybe I should stop watching Victoria Secret Fashion Show, it been getting to me.

"Damian!" I hear Jay say - as if he found the next Saga to that one book in high school - as he takes a seat next to me.

"Guess what you guys!" He says, some frightening words to a 32-year-old woman who's a journalist.

"What?" Amelia says trying to act surprised.

"I took the spot!" He says as Katie was about to fall out of her chair.

"You did. How nice is that!" Katie says. Now I have just two friends. Amelia and Jay.

"Katie, you alright?" Damian ask.

"We should probably get to our post," Amelia says as she and Jay leave.

"Yeah, perfectly fine. So you and Sam, huh?" Katie says trying to sound alright.

"Let me guess. You wanted to be the next news reporter." Damian says.

"No, I wanted it to be me and you, not you and Sam," Katie says.

"You could have told me. I wouldn't have taken it." Damian says.

"But you did..." Katie says as she looks at him.

"Damian!" Katie hears someone say. She looks over to see a woman with red hair. Can we all talk about that dyed hair? Anyone can see the blonde roots.

"Yes, Vivian?" Damian says, almost breathless.

"Damian, you are up with Sam!" She says over enthuse.

"Well I'll see you later, take care, Katie." He says as he hugs her before leaving. Later Katie needs to ask him what shampoo he is using.
