The Incident

As Katie, Louis, Jamie, Amelia, Jay, and Damian were all heading to Mrs. Edwin's Café. They started to talk about the ladies of the group and how beautifully they were, especially Shira and Percy. Boys... As she went to order some coffee, Damian came up right behind her, without Katie noticing, but boy did Jamie and Louis glare at him. "Hey Katie, how about we - you know - go to my place after we're both done at our work." He says.

"How 'bout, Nah," Katie says as she goes to sit down, Damian followers close behind. "So Katie. What should we call this news? You have a brother!" Jamie says.

"I mean, it's pretty obvious. I'm never the only child. What I mean is that we all have siblings." She says as Jamie frowns because he never had a brother or a sister.  "You never had a sibling?" Katie says as Jamie nods. "Really. You're the only child."

"Huh. Well, Damian has a brother named Benjamin, or Benji for short. Amelia has Jay. Louis well, he has a sister, right?" Katie says as Louis nods. "Her name was Menina, correct?" Katie says as he once again nods. "Then I have... Wyatt...R."

"You don't like 'em?" Louis says. "No. It's just I never meet him. It's just weird to know you actually have a brother." Katie says. "Ah. Well come on, we got to do some work." Damian says as Katie signs. "And here it goes again." She says as she gets up and leaves a five-dollar tip for whoever finds it.

As they were going back a gunshot was heard from the mall across from them. Then three guys with masks come out and start running, not just running but running towards Katie and her friends. The first mask man saw them and decided to shoot at the ground to make them move but they didn't budge until the tallest one, shot his gun and... it hit Jamie!

"Jamie!" We all shout as he hit the ground, blood coming from his shoulder... no... neck... no... his stomach... ooh this is bad, so bad. "Well someone calls the police. The ambulance. Someone!" She shouts as they all went on their phones and dialed numbers, any numbers.

"Jamie. It's going to be okay. Help is coming." Katie says as she kneeled down, next to Jamie.

"...don't." He says as his hand finds Katie's. "Promise me that you'll get this through... tell my mother and father that they didn't fail. That they just made a mistake for never forgiving me... also. Katie... I'll miss your company." He says as a tear slides down his cheek as his eyes close. The pain was too unbearable.

A week after the funeral of Jamie Din Edsen. His mother and father couldn't bear to even show up to his funeral. Instead they just came to leave a rose and leave very fast as if they had something way important than coming to their own son's funeral.

That's very fucked up and wrong but it's true, who in their right mind wouldn't go. Even the receptionist, Vivian went and so did Charlie and Sam. Katie considers Vivian, Charlie, and Sam a better type of friends than befriending a mother and father that don't care.

As Katie was alone in her office, with no one to talk to since they are scared to die or even become even more famous so she was alone and she was happy. Why? She got to play her music at a long toon without it being turned off, like what Damian did or changed, like what Jamie did.

So Katie's shuffles her music to get the most randomize one, which was a piano, and a sad tempo. It was River Flows In You by Yiruma. As Katie mimics the piano she didn't realize that Damian was at the door.

The attire for today for Damian was a wine color button-up with a black coat and dress pants and boats. His hair styled in a messy but quiffed. Damian just kept staring at Katie as she was still mimicking the piano. As she was at the end, she heard clapping. She opens her eyes to see Damian at the door, clapping. "How long have you been there?" She asks him.

"Long enough to have it as a memory." He says as he walks to his old desk. "Haha. Well erase it and why are you here?" Katie says as she laughs a bit before getting serious. "I can ask you on a date." He says showing her the outfit he had on. "Don't you love being handsome and noticed by women," Katie says as she gets up with her purse and coat.

The slight chill of December was so refreshing to them both as they walk down the streets of Pixous. A quite peaceful today with the birds chirping and the sound an of music from the club downtown. As the days of last week came back to Katie in a flash.

First thing, Damian joins Sam, next she had to write a paper about the attack on Milly's Cafe, then someone was introduced to her, then Louis comes back out of nowhere, then Jamie dies, then... She's out walking to Carlie's Restaurant. Where did it go wrong?

Hand in hand, both talking about the events that led them to dating each other, but something is bothering Katie and Damian doesn't see it. Just then Katie's phone starts buzzing and she fished for it in her purse to see a alarm that read, Got 'em. She closes her eyes before signing. The alarm was set a week ago when she was in the office with Jamie. Got 'em would be that she had Damian by then, in which she does but the night isn't over yet.
