To a cage made from bone

Swinging from the white

Of celestial stardust

My human body glowing

With the etchings

Of ethereality

And as my eyes thin

My wrath in a new wave

The animals enclosing

I reach out to the monarch

Wishing for a mercy she never gave

The shards of glass

resting obediently

in the derelict shelter
