Stealthy return to Giza

Green radiance lit up the underground cavern…

Hugo was ejected gently out of the doorway marked with mysterious runes. This was the very same underground tunnel he had been in before being mysteriously teleported to the testing grounds of the knowledge keepers.

[The mysteries of the cosmos are truly profound!] He watched the glow of the mysterious runes on the summoning circle around the door die out as the flaming torches in the cavern sparkled back to life. It was like a scene from one of the fairy tales told back on Earth.

The cavern floor was still completely covered by the members of the nest of pitch-black cobras. However, they seemed to have lost all interest in Hugo despite him abruptly disturbing their rest.

The nest of snakes had inexplicably ceased hostilities like an adversary who had just signed a peace treaty. Only the juvenile snakes cast a few curious glances in his direction when he arrived.
