From the distance came noises no living creature could ever make. This initial grating noise was replaced by the sound of screaming children.
At first, the ear-splitting noises were distant, but they suddenly steadily came closer. All the while, they became more intense and distressing until they resounded all over the caverns.
In response, a hubbub of bellowing calls boomed from the caverns around Hugo as the boss-koala emerged from its cave, taking off with a sizable entourage of smaller koalas.
Strangely, the koalas marched off in an organized ensemble that rivaled any parade of soldiers Hugo had attended in his previous life.
"Where are they headed too?" He whispered. The spectacle before him was puzzling. [How are these savage and relentless koalas pulling off such a high level of organization?] He wondered.
