The ship’s bridge

Hugo wasted no time on pointless deliberation.

He bravely marched through the open door and slowly advanced into the ship.

Once he entered the ship, Hugo heard the door frame rise and lock into place behind him. He turned back just in time to discover that he was now completely sealed in by the metallic door. The chamber was blanketed by pure darkness.

But Hugo did not despair for long.

Fluorescent lights bloomed around him and lit up the dark interior of the ship. In the artificial white light, Hugo finally got a clear look at the interior of the ship.

A mass of cables and jointed pipes were floating above him just beneath the ceiling of the plain-grey corridor. Paintings of star-maps were hung on each wall, each depicting beautiful constellations of vivid stars and planets floating in dark space.

A few steps away from him, a second mystic barrier separated the corridor he was in from the other sections of the ship.
