Ch. 10

"I want you to talk to Kevin." Christian told Merida as soon as she arrived the room and was dragged out by him as well.

"Wait... What?" Merida asked confused.

"Have you been crying?" Christian asked but shook his head.

Christian and Merida's relationship is pretty cool. They are friends but not close enough to tell each other personal things, that is why Merida only knew lately that Christian and Kevin was childhood friends... more like 'was' best friends.

"I want you to help me apologize to him." He said like he's on the verge of begging.

"We're not that close." Merida nervously chuckled.

"Please... you're the only one I know that can help me... With your personality, I know that you can befriend maybe the devil himself... I mean you tamed Timothy Green... no offense..." Christian sighed and calmed himself.

But of course Merida felt offended, like she made a wrong choice.

"He harassed my girlfriend and bullied my best friend... Why do you think I feel that way towards Timothy?" Christian asked.

"Hailey was Tim's girlfriend." She defended.

"She was never Tim's girlfriend... I don't know what lies he have told you to get you but I am telling you that Hailey never had that kind of relationship with Timothy." This information shocked Merida and made her feel betrayed.

But Christian took that topic off of her for now and held her shoulders to snap her out of her trance.

"Look... please help just this one time, I already made a mistake of leaving Kevin get beaten up by Timothy when I have my back turned and now I made a mistake of leaving him all alone just because I have a girlfriend." Christian looked pretty guilty while he removed his grasp on her.

Merida shook her head, thinking that the thought of Timothy's lies will be shook off her mind.

Merida can't help but sigh and tapped Christian's shoulder, "Alright. Leave it to me..." Merida smiled at him.

She removed her hand on him and her face suddenly turned serious, "But I would like to know more about Timothy's first year here."

Christian nodded his head and stared at her face.

"Seriously, fix yourself or Nathan will notice it and make a fuss about it." Christian stated as if he didn't just begged earlier.

Merida rolled her eyes at him playfully, "Okay okay, but if the teacher comes just tell them I'm in the restroom."

Which was saluted by Christian meaning 'I will ', and with that, Merida left.

And on Merida's way to the restroom, the devil they were talking about appeared before her eyes.

"Hey! Kevin!" She shouted with so much familiar that it shocked and made Kevin confused.

"Are we close?" He asked sassily.

"No. But I want us to be..." Merida said quite shyly. Even tho she's a social butterfly, she still can't help but be shy sometimes.

"Have you been crying?" Kevin asked and shook his head as if that'll change the topic.

"Jeez it seems like you and Christian are soulmates." Merida chuckled and muttered a 'was it too obvious?' while looking at her reflection on the phone.

"Christian set you up on this? If so... just leave, I'm not going to forgive that guy anymore." Kevin suddenly said coldly and turned his back to leave but Merida stopped him.

"Wait... please." She held his arm making him stop and look at her.

"Look here, you're deceased boyfriend bullied me for like a whole year when you two aren't together yet... I'm not dragging that to you but I'm just saying this for a point. My point is, Christian just watched me get myself beaten up by that guy... he just stand by the side and tell Timothy, 'Let's just leave his not worth the time.' I mean... he explained it to me before and I forgave him but now that he have a girlfriend, he's starting to forget about me all over again." Merida can see the pain in Kevin's eyes as he tell her all about it.

"He sent me to you because he's been feeling guilt—"

"Then I'll let him apologize himself... but tell him that it'll be the last time I'll hear about it." Kevin said and left.

And so Merida continued her way to the restroom.

When she went back to the room, Hailey was outside and was talking to two men from my room.

It was Nathan and Christian.

"Hey, what's going on?" I asked and pitched in the conversation.

"We'll talk about it at lunch." Nathan said and with that Hailey bid goodbye since she'll be late.

Nathan went inside too and Christian was about to follow suit but Merida stopped him, "Hey... I bumped into Kevin on my way to the restroom."

"So what did he said?" Christian turned his attention to her.

"He said he wants to hear your apology and it'll be the last time he'll hear about it." Merida passed the message to him.

He nodded and muttered a thanks before he and Merida walked inside.

Merida sat to her seat and Nathan approached her, "So... what's that about?" He asked raising his eyebrow and pointing to the door where Merida and Christian was talking before.

"He was asking me about Kevin, he wants me to help them patch up." Merida said.

"Hm... well I noticed all along that he was just in the gang for safety, Timothy must have been dense to realize that..." Nathan looked at Christian then at Merida being wary of her reaction, "though Christian was really great at pretending since Bryan didn't notice a thing as well."

"Maybe you're just observant." Merida smiled at him that made Nathan stare at her.

"Yeah... maybe I am." Nathan shrugged.

"Class go back to your seats." The teacher arrived and announced the death of Paris West that was witnessed yesterday by Nathan and Merida.

Nathan looked at Merida who's been looking down, her hair covering her face, making it hard for him to distinguish what she must be feeling right now.

But he ignored the thougth and just turned his attention back at the front.
