04: A Peculiar Roommate

Aamon

I completely rest my body on the bed. It feels so nice here. It's like I'm completely resting on a very soft cotton. A pure cotton and nothing else. It feels like I'm in heaven. The golden designs and decorations are so stunningly gorgeous. It doesn't even look like a dorm.

Oh yeah? But nothing changed. We are still here.

I ignored that and grabbed my phone. I then remembered that I'm in a second class room. The cashier gave me these keys and it has words written on it. It says second class and I'm thinking that they also have classes here. It's like a school version of titanic. I'm hoping to see my roommate but he is still not here. I don't know what to do. Maybe I'll just go and get some food.

But then before I go, I notice the computers in the other room. There's a couple of rooms here and I'm just curious why the bedrooms are not separate to the living room. There's a table that separate them but it's like there's no privacy here. But the computers have their own room. That's very suspicious. The door was opened so I tried to see if there's someone in there but I stopped.

Why? Are you scared, Aamon?

For the last time, I ignored the voices. It's hard focusing on one thing if there's always someone who is whispering to your ears every moment. I hate that feeling. I didn't mind the door and just got out of this room. It feels so unsafe here.

When I walk outside, it feels strange. Many people are here and it's so crowded. I feel like I'm gonna drown. They are all normal to me, nothing suspicious. I guess this is the feeling of being outside in a while. It feels suffocating but at same time I feel relief. I feel relief because I'm not alone anymore, I'm now with the real people. No more surreal nightmares, all are real here.

I then entered the first store that I saw. It feels nice. It's my first time buying on my own, that's why I'm so nervous and I feel that my knees are about to break.

Ha you are such a loner.

"Shut up" I murmured to myself.

Thank God, no one heard me. Everyone in this store are busy. I just focus on picking up the things I need, grabbing some food and talking to the cashier. That's pretty easy, right? But not for me. My hands are literally shaking and I don't know why. Maybe it's just because I isolated myself for almost 7 years.

Maybe it's a payback.

I furrowed my brows and whispered to myself, "I told you to shut up, didn't I?"

You can't just talk us like that.

I went to the corner and answered them "I own this body, you can't just distract me like that."

Brother, chill... we are on your side

I ignored them because I'm tired. They all have the same voices but different persona. I once thought that they were only one person but I was wrong. I can feel that they are all here, in my mind. I can feel that they are real, but they are not.

I just grab a basket and put all of the things I need. I also put some foods in my basket and head over to the cashier area. The cashier is nice, she has a short hair and white skin. She didn't smile at me but I guess she was tired.

She then looked at me said "Sir, her-"

Her eyes widened and her jaws almost drop. It seems like there's someone behind me but when I glance at my back, there's no one behind. I look at her again and I can see her fear, written in her face, as if she see a monster lurking around. I don't know what's happening but when she shouts, I know there is something wrong.

"NOO", that word really bothers me because she is still looking behind me.

Maybe there's someone behind you that you can't see.

She almost drop my food but thankfully she catches it before it fell down from the table. She looks down and I am so confuse of what I've experienced.

She then looked at me and said "I'm so sorry."

"It's fine." I replied, trying to remove the tension.

I then notice the people looking at us, confuse like me. I ignore them and pay for these things. I walk away as they all watch me leave. I go back to my room, and not exploring the campus. I'm not that kind of person that will roam around and act like he/she knows the place very well. I don't know this place and I don't trust those either. This is very different from the place, I called home.

When I open the door, I see a tall boy. His hair color is white and he's not facing me right now. But when does, he quickly smile at me. Now, I can see his red eyes and pretty face. It looks like he's a vampire or something.

"You must be my new roommate." He said in a delightful tone.

I smiled back at him and said "Yes, I am Aamon Jabez."

"Lewis Vinson Alistaire, it's my pleasure to meet you. You can call me Levin if you want." He says while walking towards to me.

"Yeah nice to meet you too, Levin." I replied to him.

When get to closer to me, we stay silent for a while and no one dares to speak. He then smiled widely as he tapped my shoulder.

"Well, welcome to the campus." He says while still smiling at me.

"Thanks?" I said with confusion.

He drags me towards to the kitchen while saying, "You know I can also cook! You must be so tired and exhausted."

"I bought some foods." I say while trying to get out from his grip.

He forces me to sit down to the table and says "You must be hungry."
