Mr. Silver
By the time Adam woke up, the void had already closed. The citizens of the city were still inside the protection dome since many voidlings were still roaming the streets. Looking next to him, was Felix. His body was covered in bandages and he was still asleep.
("Did he get hurt because of me?") [Adam]
"Yeah, he did." [Krino]
"What the-?!" [Adam]
His shout surprised the people around him, making it awkward for Adam.
"Hehe… Sorry, for the disturbance…" [Adam]
("I completely forgot you were there Krino") [Adam]
"Thats a bit rude isn't it?" [Krino]
("Sorry… Anyways, do you know what happened to Felix?") [Adam]
"Do you not remember?" [Krino]
("I was kind of…") [Adam]
"Having a mental breakdown." [Krino]
("Yeah, that.") [Adam]
"To tell you the truth, your sister Vivian is alive. You should remember that part at least." [Krino]
("I do.") [Adam]
"While you were a complete mess on the floor back at your house, Felix protected you from four voidlings." [Krino]
("Four? How strong?") [Adam]
"Three of them were small fry. The last one was a bit tough." [Krino]
("Tough?") [Adam]
"If it was a normal level 4, Felix would have no problem in dealing with it." [Krino]
("What do you mean?") [Adam]
"There's another category for voidlings. They're called Variants. Voidlings who have intellect. Usually they work off of their instincts, like animals. This time, it was able to read it's environment and showed humanlike emotions." [Krino]
("How did Felix win then?") [Adam]
"I stepped in." [Krino]
("Did I call you out?") [Adam]
"No, I summoned myself." [Krino]
("You can do that?!") [Adam]
"Of course I can. You bonded enough with me to allow that." [Krino]
("What a convenient excuse…") [Adam]
"Let me continue. I summoned myself in front of Felix so that he could wield me. That turned the tides and allowed him to win." [Krino]
("And what happened after that?") [Adam]
"He picked you up and dragged himself over to the protection dome while avoiding all the voidlings. You both were very lucky to be able to reach this place in one piece." [Krino]
("And the situation now?") [Adam]
"While you were asleep, some heroes arrived and cleaned up most of the voidlings. The void had already closed by the time they arrived so we should be able to go back home in a few hours." [Krino]
("How do you know all this stuff...") [Adam]
"I could hear the guards talking about it and I came to my own conclusions." [Krino]
As Adam was talking with Krino in his mind, Vivian popped out of a crowd of people and made her way to him.
"Adam!" [Vivan]
"Vivian! Where were you?" [Adam]
She handed him a tray of food. It held rice, chicken, broccoli, and soup of an unknown kind.
"I was getting you and Felix some food, but it looks like he isn't awake yet." [Vivian]
Adam started to dig in.
"Mm! This soup doesn't look that great, but its taste is!" [Adam]
He gobbled it up until nothing is left. Feeling satisfied, he slumped against the wall.
"Phew… That was great." [Adam]
As he was done with his food, he decided to continue his training.
("I still need to get stronger. Strong enough to be able to defeat that dungeon master.") [Adam]
He lost himself for a few hours while compressing his mana pool until a voice spoke out from the speakers in the dome.
"Attention. Threat level 6 has been resolved. All citizens may now leave the dome." [Speakers]
"Let's go home." [Vivian]
"But our house was destroyed…" [Adam]
"What? It is?" [Vivian]
"Then why don't you just stay at my place?" [Felix]
The two turned their attention to Felix.
"When did you wake up?" [Adam]
Felix just shrugged.
"About the same time the announcement popped up." [Felix]
"Let's take him up on his offer." [Vivian]
"Do you have enough rooms?" [Adam]
"We have a guest room and a room we never use I guess." [Felix]
"Then it's settled." [Adam]

As they walked through the streets, they saw the destruction the voidlings have brought.
"Dang… Most of the houses are just completely wrecked." [Adam]
"Is that a dead voidling?" [Vivian]
The streets were littered with debris and corpses. Some of them did not belong to voidlings. Eventually, they arrived at Felix's house.
"What the hell? How is your house perfectly fine?" [Adam]
The other houses in the neighborhood were at least scratched and beat up.
"Was it the figurines?" [Felix]
"Figurines?" [Vivian]
"I refuse to believe that." [Adam]
When they walked inside, Adam glanced at the shelf of figurines.
"Did... did they change their positions?" [Adam]
"What do you mean?" [Felix]
"Some of them weren't in the same spot as they were last time." [Adam]
"I think you're just imagining it." [Felix]
"This is making me think they move when you're not looking. It's like that one movie." [Adam]
"Which one?" [Felix]
"Toy Journey." [Adam]
"Hm. That was a pretty good movie." [Felix]
"Uhm… If you don't mind me asking. What's that?" [Vivian]
She pointed outside to the backyard.
"What the hell?" [Adam]
It was the little girl who sent Adam and Felix to the dungeon last time.
"What is she doing here?!" [Felix]
He ran up to the door and slid it open.
"I'm going to kill you!" [Felix]
He raised his arm and formed it like a blade.
"Spatial Slash!" [Felix]
As he was using his skill, everything froze. It was like time had stopped. The little girl began to speak.
"You have passed the first trial. The second trial will come soon." [Little Girl]
Then she vanished and time began to flow again. The Spatial Slash hit the ground where she once stood.
"God damn it!" [Felix]
"There's another one?" [Adam]
"What's going on?" [Vivian]
Felix took a deep breath and calmed himself.
"That girl was the one who sent Adam and I to a dungeon." [Felix]
"A dungeon?" [Vivian]
"It's where we almost died." [Adam]
"Why didn't you tell me this sooner?!" [Vivian]
"Because it wouldn't really matter whether we did or not." [Adam]
Vivian didn't seem to like that.
"Fine. Don't tell me about how you guys almost died. Go on another adventure and go get yourselves killed. Where no one will know where you went." [Vivian]
Adam and Felix looked at each other before saying anything.
"Wait, Vivian. I'm sorry about that. I wasn't thinking straight." [Adam]
"We just didn't want you to be worried." [Felix]
She looked at the two before taking a moment to sigh.
"Alright… I forgive you. Just tell me when you two are going anywhere." [Vivian]
The two gave each other a thumbs up from behind their back.
"I think my opinion on you two just dropped." [Krino]
("Whatever.") [Adam]
"Lets just set up the rooms so we can go to sleep. It's been a long day and I want to rest up for school." [Felix]
"Are you even sure if we still have school tomorrow?" [Adam]
"Might as well go check when we arrive tomorrow than be absent." [Felix]
"No wonder why you have the best grades in our class…" [Adam]
They all called it a night and went to bed. The next day came and the two headed for school. When they arrived at school, they were surprised by the number of students arriving.
"I'm guessing we still have class." [Adam]
When they walked in, they were even more surprised that Mr. Frank wasn't here yet.
"Are we actually not supposed to come today?" [Adam]
"Just take your seat and wait. If the Mr. Frank doesn't arrive in 15 minutes, we can leave." [Felix]
A few minutes later, the class was filled. Mr. Frank had not appeared yet and it was nearing the 15 minute mark. The class was getting a bit rowdy since the teacher was currently absent.
"Yay! No school today." [Adam]
"You shouldn't say that before the 15 minute mark." [Felix]
A few minutes later, someone unfamiliar walks into the room.
"Hi there, I'm Mr. Silver. I will be your teacher starting from today. Please treat me well." [Mr. Silver]
"Huh?" [Class]
"Where's Mr. Frank?" [Student A]
"He is no longer a teacher at this establishment. He left due to some… family troubles." [Mr. Silver]
("I know he wasn't a great teacher, but he was pretty cool…") [Adam]
"This smells a bit fishy." [Krino]
("What do you mean?") [Adam]
"I can't seem to put my finger on it. Mr. Frank doesn't seem like someone who would leave like that." [Krino]
("Didn't Mr. Silver say that it was family troubles?") [Adam]
"That's what's fishy. He shouldn't know that." [Krino]
("Couldn't Mr. Frank have just passed that on to Mr. Silver to tell us?") [Adam]
"Is Mr. Frank that sort of guy?" [Krino]
("Well… Actually, he isn't now that I think about it. He only tells us things in a vague way or abruptly. Like when we first unlocked our abilities or that field trip.") [Adam]
"Exactly. We need Mr. Frank back." [Krino]
("Why? He's just a teacher.") [Adam]
"He's the only one who tells the student the hard truth. If you look at Mr. Silver, you can tell he's hiding something." [Krino]
("Hm… I'll have to look into it later.") [Adam]
