The Note
Adam went home, ready to question Sebastian. Unfortunately, he was met with a note in the living room.
("Again? Is he on another trip?") [Adam]
Felix was about to pass by, but he noticed Adam just standing there.
"Did you find something?" [Felix]
"Yeah, I think I found another one of Sebastian's notes." [Adam]
Felix strolled over and took a peek.
"Lemme see that." [Felix]
"Ah- hey!" [Adam]
Felix swiped the paper out of his hand and began to read aloud.
"If you're reading this, you must be wondering where I went. I went on another trip, no specifics, but if Aurora asks, tell her I went 'Beyond the Horizon'." [Felix]
("Beyond the horizon?") [Adam]
"Shh, there's more." [Felix]
After pausing he began to speak.
"If she wants to know more, tell her that I also went to 'Align the Stars'. " [Felix]
("What is with these codes? Does he not trust us?") [Adam]
"Adam, you must be wondering why I sent Aurora over to school." [Felix]
Realizing what he just said, he stopped reading.
"Wait, Aurora is in our school?" [Felix]
"Yeah, she's the new advisor for the student council. Nevermind that, just keep reading." [Adam]
With a somewhat unconvinced face, Felix continued.
"She will be acting as a second teacher, checking up on your progression. Speak to her when you complete your zone." [Felix]
"...You know, I completely forgot about zones." [Adam]
"Weren't they supposed to put you in a favorable environment?" [Felix]
"...Lets just ask Aurora later." [Adam]
As they spoke, Felix noticed something about the note.
"Oh, there's a backside to it." [Felix]
Flipping it around, he read it aloud.
"P.S. A training menu for you two." [Felix]
Reading down the list was ways to be more proficient with a soul weapon for Felix and ways to improve ability for Adam. Except for that, there was one more line.
"Although it is good to hone your skill with the sword, you must not neglect your ability. Your soul weapon will fail you at the time you need it most." [Felix]
("At the time you need it most? Krino? Want to say something about that?") [Adam]
"..." [Krino]
("Krino?") [Adam]
"I was just thinking." [Krino]
("You gonna answer my question now?") [Adam]
"It's just an assumption, but… During your most needed time, maybe my connection to you will be cut off." [Krino]
("...Like wifi?") [Adam]
"It's actually something similar to that. I'm connected to you from the celestial armory, the place that houses soul weapons of the celestial class. If that connection was cut off, then you wouldn't be able to summon me." [Krino]
("How would that even happen?") [Adam]
"Honestly, I have no clue. Just try to get better at using your ability." [Krino]
("Then it's time to make a new move!") [Adam]
"That reminds me, when did you make that Implode move?" [Krino]
("It was still in its trial phase when I used it. I had the concept in mind, but… It was a 50/50 chance of it working during the dungeon fight.") [Adam]
"Please test your moves before actually using them in combat." [Krino]
("...No promises.") [Adam]

After reading the note, the two decided to head into their rooms. Shutting the door behind him, Adam sat on his bed and compressed his mana pool.
("It doesn't really feel like a light stomachache anymore. It feels more like a small pressure on my belly.") [Adam]
"I guess that means you're improving." [Krino]
("Want to think up a new move with me?") [Adam]
"Sure, why not?" [Krino]
("I actually want to test something.") [Adam]
"And that is?" [Krino]
("Give me a sec.") [Adam]
He went to the kitchen and came back with a yellow block.
"A… sponge?" [Krino]
("Yep.") [Adam]
"And how will that help you?" [Krino]
("Check this out.") [Adam]
"Compress." [Adam]
In an instant, the sponge smushed itself into a small ball.
"That's cool and all, but that's not a new move." [Krino]
("Actually, I was testing if I could compress it's insides instead of its outside.") [Adam]
"...You can't be…" [Krino]
("Yep, I'm trying to do it.") [Adam]
"I'm going to tell you not to. That's not a very humane skill." [Krino]
("Don't worry, it's only going to be a trump card.") [Adam]
"What if you get angry and randomly decide to use it?" [Krino]
("There's no possible way of that happening.") [Adam]
"...What if you use it on a person?" [Krino]
("Like I said, trump card.") [Adam]
"No, I will not let you. If you manage to compress the insides of something, there will be nothing stopping you from crushing the insides of people." [Krino]
("There's morals.") [Adam]
"That's still a no." [Krino]
("Fine. Let's just stop here for tonight. I have something to do tomorrow.") [Adam]
