Blinding Decisions

A lightning bolt struck the ground before Adam, revealing Adam's trusty sword Krino.

"Wha… What just…?" [Toban]

"A sword…?" [Gael]

The students in the building were left in awe by the spectacle, allowing Adam enough leeway to pull Krino out of the ground.

"Gael… was it? I wanna make a deal with you." [Adam]

"Uh… Did you not hear my first answer?" [Gael]

"Fair enough." [Adam]

Adam pointed the blade at Gael and let out a bolt of lightning.

"Agh!" [Gael]

The bolt struck his chest, sending him flying into the crowd.

"Should've made that deal." [Adam]

He extended the blade outwards and spun around slowly, as if he were threatening those around him.

"Move." [Adam]

Waving his sword at the exit, the students parted for Adam.

"What do you all think you're doing?!" [Toban]

Each student affiliated with Toban froze at that very moment. His voice commanded obedience, as he had something to lose.

"Attack him! There's at least fifty of us, and one of them! Remember! You're not working for me, you're working for Dante!" [Toban]

("Dante?") [Adam]

The name seemed to drain the color from the people's faces, and they began to block off the exit.

"Great… Back to the drawing board." [Adam]

He brandished his sword as a threat, but Adam knew inside that he wouldn't swing it.

("This is annoying… If only they were voidlings.") [Adam]

Knowing that the Krino no longer had any use, he allowed the sword to vanish.

"Back to not-existing I guess." [Krino]

("I have no choice. You'll just get in the way.") [Adam]

"He's lost the sword! Get him!" [Opportunistic Student]

Seeing the intimidating weapon gone, the students saw it as a chance to defeat Adam.

("All at once?!") [Adam]

"Doesn't matter! Line them up, and knock 'em down!" [Krino]

The warehouse was filled with thunderous footsteps as many charged toward Adam. Some bore their fists, while others prepared their abilities, but there was only one that stood and watched.

"..." [Toban]

"Come at me!" [Adam]

The ones who relied on physical strength were the ones that went down first. Punching, kicking, and tackling proved ineffective to Adam's superior strength.

"Wha-?! He's not budging!" [Shocked Student]

"Get back!" [Toban]

"Too late!" [Adam]

Grabbing the clothing of anybody within reach, Adam swung them around like ragdolls.

"Take cover!" [Toban]

Adam released his grip on the students, sending them flying into their allies.

("Damn, that booster Roy fed me is some serious stuff!") [Adam]

"Try asking for more next time." [Krino]

("I'll pass on the six hours of pain.") [Adam]

He looked around him for confirmation of his progress, and felt satisfied with the result. Most of the people around him were already on the ground, and the few left seemed to be left in fear.

("time for the final blow.") [Adam]

Turning his eyes towards the few people left, Adam began to approach them.

"Eek! S-stay away!" [Terrified Student]

It was then that they began to resort to more serious measures.

"Frost Arrow!"

"Dragon's Breath!"

"Acid Bullet!"

"Blind!"

Abilities were fired off at random, most of them hitting before Adam realized.

"Huh? Why can't I see-" [Adam]

Just as one of the abilities began to affect him, he felt a barrage of attacks land on him.

"Agh! What the- Urgh!" [Adam]

Blow after blow, he felt a multitude of pain. Adam inhaled sharply to make it seem less painful, but he felt even worse after taking a breath.

"Damn it, I can't see!" [Adam]

The irritation started to get to him, causing a strange idea to pop into his head.

("Why don't I just blow everything up?") [Adam]

"Wait- Yo- Hold up-" [Krino]

Thinking it was an ingenious solution, Adam concentrated air into his hands.

"Adam? Adam! Chill out!" [Krino]

Krino cried out to Adam, but it didn't reach his ears. He could feel the concentration of air reaching its limit, meaning it was almost time to unleash it.

"Orion is still here!" [Krino]

That was when the realization hit Adam.

("Oh… Shit.") [Adam]

Just now noticing his friend was within range, Adam thought to cancel the ability.

("...Krino, we may or may not have a problem.") [Adam]

"What?!" [Krino]

("I can't stop it.") [Adam]

"You've gotta be shitting me…" [Krino]

There was no time. The compression had finally hit it's limit, and was just about to blow.

("I'm just going to aim it upwards!") [Adam]

"Wait don't-" [Krino]

Adam fired it upwards. Air burst out of the palm of his hands with enough force to blow off what remained of the warehouse ceiling, and flung everyone within range randomly. In sheer coincidence, the student who had used the blinding ability on Adam was knocked out.

"...Hey, I can see again." [Adam]

Glancing around at the aftermath, there was no one else who stood other than himself. Adam quickly assessed the situation and came to one conclusion.

"I'm going home." [Adam]

Then he picked up Orion by the collar and left.
