For Crying Out Loud

Crow staggered backwards, clutching his nose. The mask covering his face was bent in a strange way, indented with a portion of Adam's face.

"How do you like that?" [Adam]

"..." [Crow]

Straightening out his mask, Crow looked at Adam with a fire in his eyes.

"You'll regret that." [Crow]

Flicking his wrist, he swung at Adam.

"Woah!" [Adam]

He stepped back to avoid the attack, but felt a sharp pain on his cheek as he barely managed to dodge.

"A-Adam!" [Felix]

"What?" [Adam]

Touching his face, Adam found blood on his hand.

"Oh." [Adam]

Looking at Crow with a confused expression, Adam spotted the glint of a knife in Crow's hand.

"That's not very fair is it?" [Adam]

"Tsk." [Crow]

Clicking his tongue, he threw the knife at Adam.

"Yikes!" [Adam]

Reacting quickly, Adam tilted his head enough to narrowly evade the knife.

"How nice. You threw away your advantage." [Adam]

Crow remained silent, simply staring behind Adam.

"...What are you looking at?" [Adam]

"Idiot! Behind you!" [Felix]

"Behind?" [Adam]

Just as he was about to turn around, Adam felt a sharp pain in his back.

"Agh!" [Adam]

He caught a glimpse of the knife lodging itself into his back, pushing further every passing moment.

("It came back?!") [Adam]

Adam staggered forward, which Crow took as an opportunity. Lunging forward, Crow attempted to stab Adam with another knife.

"In front!" [Krino]

("I know, goddamn it!") [Adam]

Pushing through the pain, he caught the knife with his bare hands.

"Urgh…!" [Adam]

"You…?!" [Crow]

He pushed against Adam, but he had underestimated his opponent's strength.

("It's not budging?!") [Crow]

Blood gushed out of Adam's hand as he gripped the blade, causing him to wince in pain.

"You're going to have to do better than that…!" [Adam]

Slowly reaching behind him with his free hand, Adam grimaced in pain as he pulled out the knife.

("He's pulling out the knife?!") [Crow]

Surprised by such an action, he immediately calmed himself down.

("No, it's fine. He'll die of blood loss if he does that.") [Crow]

"Compression." [Adam]

Focusing his ability on his back, the gaping stab wound closed itself.

("What?!") [Crow]

"Take it back." [Adam]

Flipping the knife upside down, Adam swung it downwards.

("I need to block it!") [Crow]

Raising an arm, he caught Adam's hand. The knife's edge seemed to waver over him, glinting menacingly.

"Not enough." [Adam]

"Huh?!" [Crow]

Adam pressed down harder, slowly inching the knife closer.

"N-Nrrghh!" [Crow]

Grunting loudly, he resisted against Adam. The weight slowly increased, forcing Crow to release his grip on his own weapon and to use both hands to stop Adam.

"I said, it's not enough!" [Adam]

Raising his now free bloodied fist, Adam slammed it against Crow's face.

"Agh!" [Crow]

He tumbled across the floor, knocking off his mask.

"Phew…" [Adam]

Seeing as how Crow had been knocked away, Adam let the knives fall to the ground.

"..." [Adam]

Looking at his bloodied hand, Adam sighed.

"Compression." [Adam]

Flinching from pain, the cut on his hand closed.

"I have to ask… Where did you get the idea of closing your wounds?." [Krino]

("No clue. It just popped into my head.") [Adam]

Adam approached Crow as he groaned on the floor, covering his face as he fumbled for his mask.

"Where…! Where is it…?!" [Crow]

"Over here." [Adam]

Turning to the sound of Adam's voice, Crow saw him standing next to the bird-like mask.

"Give it here!" [Crow]

"...I'll pass." [Adam]

Raising a foot, he crushed the mask under his foot.

"No!" [Crow]

Crow screamed, his voice almost resonating with the sound of a bang from afar. Within the next moment, Adam felt immense pain in his right leg.

"Huh?" [Adam]

Looking down at his leg, Adam found a large hole where his thigh was supposed to be.

"...Well that ain't right." [Adam]
