About a week has passed since the incident. The city was in shambles, but there were efforts into putting it back together quickly. Thanks to the use of those with constructive abilities, the rebuilding project was finished without issue.
"And that sums up how our week went. Any questions?" [Mark]
Sitting in the disciplinary committee's office, Adam attended a meeting with both heads of Golden Lion High School and Blue Pegasus High School.
"So the event is still taking place?" [Klein]
"Seems so. The school board considered canceling the collaborated event, but the students refused it on a survey." [Mark]
As the two spoke, Adam sat there with a confused expression.
"...Why am I here? The others didn't attend." [Adam]
"Micheal and Erik are out patrolling. Plus, you're here for advertisement." [Klein]
"Advertisement?" [Adam]
Klein nodded.
"After the… Well, incident. Students are raring to go fight. The event will be a system of students fighting consecutive battles against augmented simulated voiding robots. ASVR for short." [Klein]
"And what does that have to do with me?" [Adam]
"We want you to be the demonstration. We're going to put you up against a considerably high level opponent, in which you must defeat." [Mark]
Adam glanced between the two.
"How are you so sure that I'm not going to lose?" [Adam]
"That's why you're here today. The event starts in three days, so you have exactly three days to practice." [Klein]
Adam sighed.
"Alright. Where do I practice?" [Adam]
"Follow me." [Klein]

Guided by Klein, Adam was taken to a separate warehouse. Inside seemed to resemble the combat area Adam had seen during the military field trip.
("I wonder if this was how Roy felt when entering that arena.") [Adam]
"This is it." [Klein]
"Pretty nice place you've got here." [Mark]
Mark looked around, admiring the white tiles covering the floor.
"It's clean too." [Mark]
"Erik likes to clean this place often." [Klein]
"Reason being?" [Mark]
"He trains here." [Klein]
"Ah, classic musclehead." [Mark]
Having himself a humorous comment, Klein moved on.
"Anyway, let me set it up." [Klein]
Pulling out a tablet, he tapped away. Within seconds, a hologram appeared of a voidling before them. It seemed to be made out of lowly rendered pixels, but quickly appeared to become more realistic.
"Woah… It looks just like the real thing!" [Adam]
Circling the voidling, Adam admired the details.
"Of course. It's based off of recorded voidlings in the voidling index." [Klein]
"Wait, isn't that for military use only?" [Mark]
"We have permission." [Klein]
Mark gave him a suspicious look.
"How?" [Mark]
"Don't sweat the small details. Anyway… What difficulty are you willing to try, Adam?" [Klein]
"Wait, I can touch this thing?" [Adam]
"Yes." [Klein]
Somewhat unconvinced, Adam poked the voidling.
"Oh…! I can! That's actually really cool! How does it work?!" [Adam]
"Short answer: Nanomachines. By the way, the difficulty ranges from one to ten." [Klein]
"How about we start with five?" [Mark]
"Sure." [Adam]
Tapping away at the tablet, the voidling seemed to change.
"Uh… Why's it doing that?" [Adam]
The voidling's physique became more muscular and it rose in size. Its body became more humanoid, aside from the head resembling an eagle's.
"It's called an eagle head. On the index, it says it has high visual acuity and great physical prowess." [Klein]
"Alright, let's run it." [Mark]
Giving Adam the thumbs up, Klein and Mark stepped away.
"Beginning in three." [Klein]
"Two." [Klein]
"One." [Klein]
Pressing a button on the tablet, the voidling seemed to come to life. It let out a loud screech before lunging at Adam.
"Pressure Cannon." [Adam]
With a single blast of wind, the voidling was reduced to pieces.
"Huh?!" [Klein] [Mark]
The two were left with their mouths hanging.
"What was that?!" [Klein]
"...My ability?" [Adam]
"There is no way that was level 1 compression." [Mark]
Klein and Mark glanced at each other with shock.
"Actually, this is better." [Klein]
Mark nodded.
"Yeah, we definitely have something to advertise." [Mark]
The two smiled with a sinister grin.
("I don't like where this is going.") [Adam]
