Could've Used Your Help Earlier!
Activating his Soul Aggression, Adam's lightning forged itself into plated armor with a cape hanging off the back.
"Holy-! What is that?!" [Brandon]
"Is that his soul weapon?!" [Sora]
Voidlings and undead turned to ash as they approached him. It was impossible to reach Adam with how much the lightning surrounding him lashed out.
"...They're not regenerating?" [Sergeant Randy]
He could see the monster's ashes attempt to move, but it appeared to be impossible to piece themselves back together.
"...Incredible." [Sergeant Randy]
Seeing as Adam no longer needed the soldiers' support on the voidlings and undead, Sergeant Randy gave out new commands.
"Aim for the big one! Once it falls, everything will be over!" [Sergeant Randy]
All forms of abilities converged towards the six-armed giant, causing it to back away. Even when it didn't do much damage, it was still enough to hinder it.
"Fools…" [???]
Charging its golden blade with its own lightning, the giant swung it at Adam.
"Here it comes!" [Krino]
("I got this!") [Adam]
He met the giant's blade with his own, forcing him to dig his heels into the earth. The accumulation of the curses "Weakness" and "Burden" almost made Adam lose ground. However, he reinforced himself with sheer will.
("This feels like when Askyros was stomped on by a giant!") [Adam]
"Now you just have to beat it like him!" [Krino]
Empowered by his Soul Aggression, Adam managed to push the giant's sword back.
"Such strength…" [???]
The giant reeled from the momentum.
"Now's your chance!" [Krino]
("I know!") [Adam]
Using his "Implode" ability, Adam launched himself at the giant.
"No…" [???]
As Adam soared, the giant attempted to snatch him out of the air.
"Pressure Cannon!" [Adam]
He fired at the giant's arms, causing it to stagger. So much so that it somehow tripped on the horde of undead and voidlings below.
"Get down!" [Sergeant Randy]
All soldiers ducked as a shockwave passed overhead from the giant's fall. Hundreds of its allies were crushed beneath it, not to mention the damage inflicted onto the cavern walls.
"Don't let it get back up!" [Krino]
Adam raised his sword and activated "Implode" once more. He forced himself to plummet, aiming for the giant's head.
"Protect me…" [???]
Upon hearing that, the remnants of the undead swarmed to the giant's face. They used themselves as a shield, sacrificing their lives to Adam's shocking presence.
"Cut through them!" [Krino]
("I'm trying!") [Adam]
Slowly but surely, Adam was removing the horde. It was going smoothly. That is, until the giant's six arms came down on him.
"Urgh!" [Adam]
Being attacked so suddenly, Adam was forced to drop his sword. Through some sort of miracle, Adam juggled the sword with his foot and caught it in his mouth.
"Mmm!" [Adam]
Letting out a muffled sound, Adam bore the weight of the giant's attempt to crush him.
"Get the arms off him! Concentrate fire!" [Sergeant Randy]
The soldiers targeted the elbows in an attempt to release even one arm.
"Decaying touch…" [???]
Suddenly, a burning sensation happened upon Adam.
"Ngh!" [Adam]
His whole body felt hot, as if it was directly touching a burning stove.
"Ah, more curses. Best kill it before it kills you." [Astos]
The burning sensation made Adam feel even weaker than before. If not for the empowerment of Soul Aggression, he would have surely succumbed to the pressure.
("You know what? Screw it!") [Adam]
Having been fed up, Adam released the sword from his jaw.
"What are you doing?!" [Krino]
Adam summoned up the rest of his strength to kick his sword, Krino, at the giant's head. It was a gamble, which somehow allowed Krino to pierce the undead horde and lodge itself into the giant's skull.
"Uh-oh." [Adam]
Now longer being in contact with Krino, Adam's Soul Aggression vanished.
"Shit!" [Adam]
The weight of six arms quickly felt several times heavier than before. So much so that Adam's entire body trembled as it strained itself for survival.
"Someone push the damn sword into its head!" [Adam]
In a desperate act, Adam called for help. Krino was directly lodged in the giant's forehead, all that was needed was a little push. There were also attempts from undead to pull it out, but they were reduced to ash upon the slightest touch.
"Someone go up there and finish it off!" [Sergeant Randy]
He commanded with a voice clear as day, yet none moved. It seemed that they feared the thought of entering the undead horde. That is, all but one.
"I'll do it!" [Sora]
Placing down the rifle given to him, Sora rushed forward. He copied Adam's technique of leaping off the undead's heads, allowing him to proceed without hindrance.
"Hang in there, Adam! I'll be right with you!" [Sora]
He passed by Adam, who was being pressed within the hands of six arms. Sora then, without hesitation, leapt onto the giant's forehead and gave his all into shoving the sword downwards.
"What the-?!" [Sora]
The moment Sora began to push, he realized how difficult it was to even make it go an inch deeper.
"C'mon!" [Sora]
He dug his heels in and pushed with all his might, allowing the blade to slip in slowly. All that was needed was a little time. Unfortunately, the undead around him weren't willing to wait.
"Sora! Behind you!" [Brandon]
Undead leapt onto Sora, biting and scratching at his skin.
"Argh!" [Sora]
Even so, Sora did not yield. Quietly, Sora endured as the blade continued.
"God damn it!" [Brandon]
Leaping over the line of soldiers, Brandon rushed in with his rifle. He fired at the undead clinging to Sora, hoping that it would alleviate even a little bit of his burden.
"Brandon…?" [Sora]
"Just focus! I've got your back!" [Brandon]
He rushed in and tore off the undead sticking onto Sora, revealing all the wounds they had just given.
"...Shit! I mean- You look fine! We're almost there!" [Brandon]
With the sound mind of someone trustworthy on his back, Sora shoved Krino all the way into the giant's skull.
"No…!" [???]
A wailing echoed throughout everyone's mind, leaving all the undead frozen.
"We… did it? We really did it! Hey Sora, we di-!" [Brandon]
Turning to his friend, horror surfaced.
"Sora!" [Brandon]
Unable to bear the pain any longer, Sora had collapsed.
