Devil's Eyes

I was about to walk around to get in the car when I saw someone else sitting beside him on the first front seat.

What have I done to deserve this!

I covered up my dislike and sat in the backseat deciding to keep my mouth shut the whole way. No one spoke for a while.

"So you are the mysterious daughter of David Adler?" Delilah was the first one to speak.

"Yes I am his daughter and I am not mysterious." I don't know why but I felt that her statement was a sarcastic remark more than a question.

"Now I understand why you bragged about buying the shop that day." her sentence was followed by a mocking snicker.

"Excuse me?" I was trying so hard not to lose my calm.

"What? I was just kidding and she did that." her tone immediately changed while talking to Xavier.

I may choke on the excess sugar if I ever talk like that.
