A lost love

Those huge trees were still like before, green, lush and tall. A stream of water was running under them, a subtle splashing sound producing when the water hit the stones. It was both peaceful to the mind and eye but the heart…the heart was another story.

She walked barefoot over the wet tree leaves. Her long hair were flying away from her face. Slowly she reached the stream of fresh water and sat beside it. Her hand went on to touch the water and a little gasp escaped her lips as it was colder than expected.

"Mama," A little voice called behind her and a smile took over her lips.

"Careful baby," She turned around and called out to the little girl who was coming running towards her.

"Mama look what I have found." She put her hand forward towards her.

She saw there was a little red ladybug crawling over her little palm.

"Awww," She held her small hand in hers as she pulled the little girl in her lap. "Where would you send it?"
