Verin's Goodbye (2)

The two groups of remaining people once again subconsciously looked at each other, wondering who would go next. Seeing this, Aman decided he would take initiative and stepped forward. He stuck out his hand and waited for Leon to shake it.

"Don't forget that as long as you are in Partha, any Medici branch will gladly welcome you with open arms, as long as you have that silver slip! Come back soon, so you can see the new store!"

Dominic, felt like he didn't need to say anything as he had already mentioned to Leon to bring back something for him to buy. That left Susan and Kyle, Susan merely gave Leon a nod.

"Don't worry about Aman or anything here, I will lend my aid if needs be."

Seeing as he was the last person to speak out of that group, Leon started to walk to Kyle, until he suddenly heard Kyle's voice in his head.

'Let us speak here'

Leon's mouth went wide with shock before he attempted to calm down.

'What is this?'

Kyle looked a little bit surprised for once.

'You don't know about magic telepathy?'

Shaking his head, Leon replied.

'Never heard of it, nor experienced it.'

Seeing as he was here to send Leon off, Kyle decided to explain the concept to him.

'Magic telepathy is a fundamental spell all mages should learn if they are on the verge of a breakthrough to A-Tier. Most mages will learn the skill, although there are exceptions due to the uniqueness of classes or etc. Magic telepathy allows the magician to communicate with anyone within a certain radius. The distance and amount of people are limited to a mage's willpower and strength.'

As he was talking, Kyle realized he should most likely get things done, before Erik complained.

'Anyways, I came to see you off partly because you are Erik's son essentially, but also my rising star wanted to say goodby. Unfortunately, she couldn't make it as she went on an emergency quest. However, she did want me to tell you to come back safely so she can pay back the gift. I don't know how you did it son, but if that girl's thinking about you even if it's just to pay back a gift. You must be one lucky chap.'

It took a while for Leon to process what Kyle had said, but eventually, he realized what had happened and looked dazed trying to digest everything.

'Rising star? Is he talking about Emilia?'

At this point, any mention of Emilia made Leon momentarily paused like she was his kryptonite. Due to this, Leons stood still for a couple of seconds not moving. Kyle was going to say something until a sudden mountain enveloped Leon with a hug.

It was Erik who had given Leon the hug. Leon looked like he was being crushed to death, but Erik continued regardless as he let out a few tears.

"I knew this day would come, where you would go out on a long adventure… but to think it came so soon…"

To anyone who didn't know Erik, the scene of seeing a huge man known as "The Giant of Partha" cry even though he could crush a human skull with one hand, might have seemed ridiculous. But to anyone who truly knew Erik like Kyle or old man Jenkins, they knew he was actually a pretty emotional guy who would give his life for anyone he cared about.

As if Erik's words were a cue, the rest of the people from The Chosen walked towards the hugging pair and also gave a huge. Trying to keep his face as normal as possible, Erik continued to talk.

"Remember that you will always have a family here in the guild! We will always be here for you, so all we ask is that you come back safe!"

Lucia smiled at seeing Erik start to cry and turned emotional and let out a tear as well.

"Come back safe Leon. No matter how tempting adventure can be, remember my words to take a deep breath and think about whether it's truly worth it."

Everyone else seeing Leon off, all nodded. Erik finally let go of Leon, albeit hesitantly. As Leon walked back towards his horse and started to straddle on, an unusual emotion rose up from the depths of Leon's soul.

It was the feeling of being loved. Hearing how much everyone cared about him and knowing he had to leave these people for a while made Leon incredibly sad and hesitant. However, to make sure he didn't stay behind, Leon gave the horse a light tap and it started to walk away.

In the distance the whole group waved Leon goodbye, seeing this, Leon gave a smile until he was out of sight and then looked forward. For a whole ten minutes, Leon didn't look anywhere else, but the sound of tears splashing onto the ground beneath and the sounds of sobbing could be heard coming from Leon.

He could only look down and hope that he wouldn't turn around to stay in Verin with his friends and family.

-In an unknown cave somewhere-

A being the size of an average human was resting on a makeshift throne. If Leon could get a good look at the being, he would make the connection that it was the same huge being in his weird dreams but shrunk down exponentially to be the size of a human.

The being had cuff marks on his limbs, but it was obvious to see that they were slowly fading away as some parts had become less visible. The snakes on his head were chaotic as the being held a strange orb in his hand that was projecting a screen of Leon and everything he did like reality T.V.

Suddenly, the being felt something through his senses that spanned countless miles and put away the orb, which put the scene of Leon out.

He spoke out loud, with a commanding voice that would put Erik to shame even though no one else was near him.

"So it starts my child, I hope you can grow more and more. After all, you are now one of my children…"
