Seeing the wolves momentarily distracted, the oldest person with a weapon swung at the wolf that had launched the surprise attack with his spear.

To dodge the flurry, but messy, attacks, the wolf had to stop advancing and jump backward which gave enough time for the man who had fallen to get up and complete the defensive formation once again.

Although the immediate crisis had been resolved, Leon did not stop his charge, in fact, he urged his big and muscular horse to gallop faster with light taps.

The horse Leon rode was a mixed breed that Erik had bought off the local stables. Normal horses wouldn't hold up in a fight against monsters and travel across a vast distance in the long term, so Erik gave the horse to Leon as a gift.

The horse was three-fourths cart horse and quarter pord, which was the popular breed for Parthian war horses and a branch of the revered destrier breed. (One of the most lucrative and sought after war horse breeds)

Although it wasn't a purebred warhorse, the slight essence of the presence of the warhorse made Leon's horse bigger and more muscular than a normal cart horse.

Like a raging bull, the horse picked up speed until it looked like a train heading straight towards the wolves.

The intimidating image of the big and muscular horse made all the wolves turn around to face Leon who had sat on top of the horse's saddle in a squat with Ensis drawn.

'Are you ready Ensis?'

「Do you need to ask with these weak monsters?」

Leon laughed at his sword's attitude but silently agreed since normally he could probably fight the five wolves into retreating.

At this point in time, Leon was getting so close to the wolves that he could see the glint in their sharp teeth. The moment he got within 5 meters of the closest wolf, he launched off the horse by using it as a platform to push with his legs.

Landing in front of the wolf, Leon looked like the devil to the wolf who tasted the fear in the air. Instinctively, it jumped back to put distance between itself and the sharp sword the human carried. Pecularily the human didn't try to close the distance but made a throwing motion with the hand that had nothing with it.

The wolf tilted its head with confusion until suddenly it felt a sharp pain on its chest, it looked down to find nothing there but a hole that was pouring out red blood.

The warm liquid plopped onto the ground, which weakened the wolf to the point where it fell on its front paws.

Its vision slowly blurred and the last thing it felt was the feeling of blood in between its paws and a human that smiled the entire time through.

Leon of course was the human and was ecstatic that one of the five wolves had been taken care of so quickly.

'It seems the wind weapon is just as effective as it was back in Orsini'

While Leon had killed the wolf, his horse hadn't stopped charging forward at all even after he had jumped off.

The horse charged into the nearest the wolf with enough force that the wolf was flung a few feet backward and hit the floor with a crunch. It tried to stand up but soon realized that its front paw was bent all the way to the left.

Seeing the newcomers instantly charge two wolves, the older man with a spear pointed towards the circle of men that had now become free since the wolves they were guarding against had been removed from the equation.

"You two! Come help me take this wolf! The rest of you focus on the other wolf and leave the final one to the newcomer."

Although the old man didn't know if Leon was here to also hurt them, he would rather take his chances with Leon than the wolves and hedged his bets on Leon.

The men barely hesitated as they trusted the man giving orders and rerouted themselves to fight a five-on-one battle, as the other four men focused on the other wolf.

This left only one wolf unchecked, but before it could make a decision. A smiling man holding a longsword had already started sprinting towards the unchecked enemy.

The wolf had seen its brethren get killed by surprise and was splitting its attention on Leon's sword and his other hand, any sudden movements and would dodge to the best of its abilities.

Seeing this, Leon knew his near-invisible wind weapon wouldn't be as effective as the first time and decided to test the waters with another skill he hadn't shown.

This time he put both his hands on the grip of his sword and a thin sheen of wind appeared covering the blade, setting both his feet on the ground Leon gave a mighty swing in the direction of the wolf and flung a wind slash.

Although it was quite hard to see as well, the wolf had been focusing completely on Leon, and when it saw Leon's bizarre movements and felt the wind slightly bristle. It utilized its muscles to dodge as fast as possible, however, it was still a tad bit too late.

A large slash the size of about a foot opened up on the shoulder of the wolf and it started to bleed. The wolf smelled its own blood and howled in pain, seeing the injury the wolf's instincts took control and it squinted its eyes as it looked ferociously towards Leon.

Leon on the other hand was slightly disappointed that the skill didn't kill the wolf, but he couldn't care less as his smile reached each side to side on his face.

His heart pounded like a marching band drum as it was pumping blood and adrenaline towards the corners of his body.

The wolf looked at the human in front of it like it was looking at a deranged and insane enemy, for the first time in its life a human was smiling in battle.

Seeing a human seemingly look down on it, the wolf snarled and started charging forward, ignoring the pain stabbing its shoulder with each step it took.

With many options, Leon could easily use a long-range attack like throwing his wind weapon again or using another wind slash. However confident that he could win the battle easily, Leon decided to satisfy the boiling blood that urged him to seek adventure.

As if to match his opponent, Leon also started sprinting towards the wolf and both combatants just sprinted in a straight line.

Once the distance closed a considerable amount, the wolf suddenly leaped slightly into the air with its claws stretched out, but Leon started to lower himself as he stuck one foot out and bent the other one as he started to slide on the floor.

Although the floor was rocky, Leon's momentum was still great enough that he slid a few feet underneath the wolf which could only look down towards the human who was entirely exposed to its underside.

Raising his sword up, Leon slash started from the top of his stomach and his slide generated enough momentum for the sword to cut from the top of the stomach to the bottom of it.

The slash was incredibly fatal as the wolf barely landed on its feet as it stumbled around for a few steps until it fell on its side with a puddle of blood spreading on the surface of the brown rock floor.

With a slash towards the ground, the red blood on Ensis was flung towards the ground and once again Ensis gleamed in its glory.

Although Leon couldn't see Ensis he could only imagine the sword rolling its eyes as he spoke.

「I told you it'd be easy.」

Leon gave a cheeky smile.

'That was fun.'
