The Mysterious Jizo (2)

Leon started to run towards the doctor's building and when he finally ran up to the double door he opened the two wooden doors before he ran in. When he ran into the building, he was once again hit with the strong smell of herbs, however, the front room had become empty and silent.

"Hello!?! Is anyone here!?!"

Bouncing off the walls like a ball, Leon's words traversed the entire building by echoing off the wooden wall, but the words only met silence. Suddenly the double wooden doors behind Leon opened, Leon turned towards the open door, only to find a rather old man with graying hair and a slightly hunched back.

"Oh, a customer? Do you need anything from this old one?"

The old man looked like a typical old doctor with little defining features, but Leon didn't care and only asked his question.

"Sorry to bother you, but does a person by the name of 'Jizo' happen to work here?"

The old man looked at Leon like he had gone insane.

"Jizo? I've never heard of the name, let alone have someone work here at my clinic."

Hearing this, Leon almost fainted from the information, as he started to mutter under his breath.

"But then who was helping us earlier…"

Even though Leon muttered, the old man miraculously heard what he said.

"Are you sure you came to this place? Currently, the only people working here are my two grandkids and I, but I just came back from a late lunch and my grandkids are still out for lunch."

Leon's mind did a barrel roll as the person who had helped them didn't even work at the medical clinic.

"A-Bu… Never mind, thanks for letting me know."

As Leon walked out of the building, the old clinic owner raised an eyebrow at everything that had transpired since he came back from his meal.

"I guess the younger folks can also be crazy."

After Leon had discovered the shocking information, he went over to his horse and jumped onto the saddle. He led his horse down the road, so he could travel while getting his thoughts into order. Although the horse trotted down the road slowly, Leon estimated that he would reach Mifis by night.

While the sound of hooves hitting the sandy road surrounded him, Leon could only be immersed in his own thoughts.

'If Jizo wasn't someone who worked there, then who is he? Why did he appear and help us? Did he have bad intentions? Did…'

These sorts of thoughts ran through Leon's mind as hours passed by, as the sun started to droop down in the bright blue sky, he hadn't found his answer.

'I can't think of why such a thing happened...I can only hope to find out later'

Even though Leon had so many unanswered questions, he decided to leave them in the outskirts of his mind and instead look forward to his time in Mifis, after all, he now was closer to his destination than ever.

-In a faraway place, nowhere near Partha-

A forest of cherry blossom tree's populated the entire horizon. Their sea of pink leaves gave the whole area a beautiful and soothing aura. In the middle of the sea of leaves, a tea house, several times bigger than the Medici estate, blended into the sea of pink. The tea house had relatively boring and monotone colors, which only made the surrounding cherry blossom trees stand even more.

Walking down a nice and flat road made of polished rocks, a pair of men gracefully sauntered like they didn't have a care in the world, however, their conversation obviously suggested otherwise.

A plain short man, who had just been in Partha acting as an assistant, had started to sweat as he explained his concerns to the man next to him.

"Lord Jizo, why did you expend your powers for such a frivolous reason? You are still recovering from the last incident."

Still smiling with his blonde hair tied back, a tall and beautiful man replied.

"I know you may think that my actions may seem frivolous and pointless, but have I ever done something as irrational and pointless as what you are imagining?"

The short man's eyes looked up as he hesitated.

"Well...my lord hasn't ever done something like that, in fact, I would say it's the opposite. My lord is a smart and pragmatic man..."

Jizo continued to slowly stroll towards the tea house but responded.

"Exactly."

However, the short man still looked concerned.

"But master, what was the reason for helping those mortals?"

The smile on Jizo's face suddenly changed.

"Have you heard about what's going on with the Olympians?"

The short man looked a little apprehensive when he heard his lord talk about the Olympians.

"I haven't. May I inquire about what's going on with them, my lord?"

As the pair started to approach the entrance of the tea house, a thin veil suddenly appeared from out of nowhere and covered Jizo's face.

"Make sure to never reveal what I'm about to say to you, but for the first time in over a Decamillennium. The Olympians are calling for a council meeting because they are afraid."

For the first time since the conversation started, the short man stopped walking and his jaw hit the floor in shock, as he stuttered with fear.

"Th-the..the Olympians are afraid?"

Although the short man had stopped walking, Jizo hadn't and finally reached the front door of the tea house.

"Are you going to make your lord wait?"

The short man instantly snapped out of his daze and walked behind Jizo, but before Jizo opened the door he whispered a warning towards the man.

"Don't even let the idea float into your mind, while we go inside. Remember, no one can know as of now."

The short man put on an emotionless face and gave a deep bow.

"Yes, my lord."

Hearing his subordinate's words, Jizo finally opened the door and a loud cheer erupted when he walked in.

-Close to the main part of Mifis-

A deep orange glow had splashed across the sandy landscape, as Leon looked in the distance and finally saw Mifis for the first time. The city was so breathtaking that Leon could only look at it, dumbfounded.

'Wow.'
