The Army of the Tribes Marches (3)

In a blink of an eye, three days had passed by quickly. The elite squad wasn't messing around and moved at a speed much faster than the mercenary group did.

Leon could only attribute this to the fact that the bloodline beasts didn't really seem to need that much rest.

He did ask Crushing Fang this and he found out that the bloodline beasts would only be unable to be used when the owner was too tired or injured to continue maintaining one.

Soon the sun had set and the dark blanket that covered the world descended once again.

Various nocturnal animals could be heard waking up as they started their day, while other animals retreated back to their abode to sleep for the next day.

Meanwhile, a group of fifty people was sneaking through the shadows of the night.

On top of a big wolf, a group of three people, including Crushing Fang, Aurora, and Leon, sat as they slowed their speed to a jog.

Leon squinted his eyes and saw a town in the distance and realized it was Framas. It had been close to a month since he had left the peaceful town, but so much had happened since then.

The month felt like a year to Leon who had gone out to do a simple job and ended up being ambushed by a powerful knight and then ended up with his bloodline awakened by a person who could crush most cities.

As the group slowed down so no one would see them, Leon looked at Crushing Fang who was sat in front of him.

"Will the plan be fine even though we are so far ahead?"

Although he couldn't see it, Crushing Fang gave a cheeky smile.

"Don't worry about that. Hehe, when the tribes march they don't sneak around or rest. They like to make themselves heard."

Leon raised his eyebrows in confusion and could only ask the muscular man for clarification.

"What do you mean, make themselves heard?"

Crushing Fang would've laughed if the group wasn't trying to be discrete.

"That loud yelling and marching they made when they first departed from back home...yeah they don't stop."

At first, Leon thought Crushing Fang was kidding, but after the muscular man went silent that he thought about the almost deafening sound that the army made and stared in shock about that sound approaching a small town like Framas.

Coincidentally a small cloud of dust was seen approaching the frontier town, but when the dust appeared closer. Leon saw that it seemed to be just five people who looked like Framas natives.

By now, the group was almost parallel with the frontier town, but they were farther away and used a high elevated hill as their path.

In the distance, a bunch of voices could be heard as their desperate screams seemed to echo through the silent night.

"Their coming! The barbarians are coming! The whole army!"

The group of five people kept yelling this as they rode as fast and hard as possible back towards the frontier town.

Since Leon and the group were so far away, he couldn't tell what happened next, but soon a loud clanging of a bell was being frantically rung.

The dead town that appeared to be sleeping seemed to have been jump-started by the group on the horses and a bunch of people ran around Framas as they panicked from hearing that the tribes were launching an attack with an army.

Soon messengers were sent out from the town that rode hard and fast, while the mayor of the town would soon contact his higherups and the capital to report the attack using rare magic and items.

Crushing Fang looked down at the chaotic city and smiled.

"How predictable. In fact, I'm quite surprised that they were lucky enough to have someone that just so happened to be nearby the main army since the army should be a day to three days out, but it won't matter."

Giving his bloodline mount an urge, the wolf sped up slightly as it planned to run past the frontier town until the group reached the forests where they could hide in.

"Let's go people. The plan is still on, but we just need to be far ahead enough that when the Silce army comes to lockdown Framas and the surrounding area. We won't be there."

The group continued its journey further into Silce territory for about half a day until they reached a dense, green forest that went on for miles. By now the sun was out in its entirety while the trees provided shade for the squad.

The entire squad had already dismounted once they reached the forest and made the next leg of the journey by foot, at least until they were out of the forest and the army had passed.

As Leon could finally see the end of the forest on the far horizon, Crushing Fang paused and suddenly spoke seriously.

"Everyone hide yourselves in the greenery and don't move a muscle."

No one questioned Crushing Wolf, but as Leon sat in a bush uncomfortably he could only question why he was doing this.

'Why the hell are we doing this?'

The entire group stood like this for about ten minutes without a single sound or movement. Leon was wondering if Crushing Fang had gone insane or didn't get enough sleep, but before he could say something he heard a faint sound in the distance.

After a few minutes, the sound got closer and closer until Leon could finally discern what it was.

It sounded like thousands of voices chanting as their footsteps started to tumble down on the earth that made it sound like a stampede had arrived, but was still tame compared to the army of the tribes.

Still sitting in his bush which seemed to rustle from the thousands of feet hitting the ground near it, Leon saw that along the giant road through the forest.

There was a never-ending stream of soldiers that walked through it. The first stream of soldiers looked incredibly serious and professional as they all had on metal armor and looked similar to what Arulo's soldier wore.

However, a majority of the armors looked slightly of inferior qualities while other particular individuals would have better armor.

These soldiers looked like professionals and Leon could only guess that these were probably the veterans and professionals of the Silce army. As they passed by, they chanted loudly.

"Everywhere we go. The people want to know. Who we are. Where we come from. So we tell them. We are the mighty Silce army!"

These professional-looking soldiers continued to repeat this chant as Leon could only gawk in surprise as this was the first time he had seen the actual army of any nation.
