CH 37: Loot

Ruler did not wait for his back up and immediately flew into action. Using his mighty wings, he arrived at the rebel location in seconds.

"Reinforce!"

The magic circuits across Ruler's body began to glow and he did a nose dive into the center of the enemy formation.

When he crashed into the ground, the initial crash killed several men while the shockwave blew away even more. Ruler did not hesitate to press on his attack though.

He jumped out of the crater before running toward his next target and stabbing his arms through the enemy's chest.

As Ruler paused for a moment to admire his work, the rebels finally recovered and opened fire upon Ruler. His reinforced skin was too tough for normal bullets to penetrate through.

'I need to move faster and not play around.'

Ruler stopped staring at the body on his arm and took two combat knives off of the body before running through the enemy ranks and cutting down anyone who got close to him.

He would use his knives to cut off hands and slit throats, or his tail to pierce through chests and heads.

His tail was strange. It was like a whip one moment slashing at and beating others before turning into a stinger the next and creating holes in bodies.

Before anyone knew it, over 50 of the humans had already been killed. Ruler was about to continue his work but heard a sound behind him. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw it was an RPG.

Not having enough time to dodge, Ruler released his left-wing to take the blow. The rocket collided with the wing and sent Ruler 10 meters away.

Seeing that the rocket was able to push him away, several other rebels fired rockets at the spot where Ruler had landed. The rebels must have only had a few rockets because after firing 5, they unleashed a hail of bullets upon Ruler, never even bother to check if he was already dead.

After all the guns had emptied their magazines, the air was quiet. No one made a sound.

Above the base, Magneto watched what happened below with interfering.

'He was confident enough to go down there alone. If he is a fool, then it is better for him to die like this than to risk the lives of others. But if not...'

2 large blue lights appeared within the smoke. Several people looked at them curiously before they heard the words,

"Open fire!"

20 prana shots were instantly fired and each killed a target. The second volley also killed another 20 targets. Same as the third and fourth. After the fifth volley, 5 seconds had passed since the words 'open fire' were uttered.

"We surrender!"

No one knew who said it first but the remaining rebels began throwing down their weapons and wanting to surrender.

Ruler did not say a word but instead flapped his wings and blew away the smoke that surrounded him. When he showed himself, the rebels were shocked.

Besides some tearing in his clothes from bullets, Ruler was unharmed. Even the rockets that they thought had damaged him did not appear to leave a mark.

What they did not know was the defensive power of Ruler's wings. Even without being reinforced, the scaled wings could take hits from the RPGs and let Ruler walk away without any issues. After being reinforced, it would take someone with superhuman strength to break through them.

The only reason why he was blown away by the first rocket was due to his unstable footing and not being prepared to take the rocket.

'To let the people who enslaved and tortured mutants, shot at me, and tried to blow me up live or kill them? Hard choice.'

Ruler pulled out a card before installing it. A bright light covered his body for a nano-second before he reappeared with an odachi in his left hand and a red scarf around his neck.

"Show me and hand over your valuables. If what you have does not please me, I will give you a slow and painful death. I suggest you hurry."

The humans hurried to gather whatever they had that was valuable. They brought money, jewelry/jewels, and had even restrained and stripped the five women who were among them and offered them to Ruler.

He ignored the women and money but focused his eyes on the jewels. He felt one of them have a strange type of energy but could not tell which one it originated from.

This was also why he asked for them to hand over their valuables. He could sense the energy in the air but could not tell its exact location.

'Better to let them bring it to me than for me to have to search for it myself,' were his thoughts.

Ruler ran his hands through the jewels before he touched one that gave him a warm and tingling sensation throughout his body. He pulled the jewel out of the pile so he could see it clearly.

What he pulled out was a yellow gem that seemed to be glowing even brighter within Ruler's fingers. It was the size of a marble.

Ruler tried to pull the energy out of the marble but it somehow caused the area around him to be bathed in blue flames and killing everyone around him, leaving not even ash remaining.

Ruler and the mutants watching in the distance were shocked. No one had expected for those flames to appear out of nowhere.

"Woah. This is cool. Is this a? It couldn't be, could it?"

Ruler summoned a gold card before crushing it as well as using one of his command seals. The golden card caused Anastasia to appear before him from a golden portal while Iskandar teleported to him from the city out of a blue portal.

Ruler held tossed the marble to Iskandar before explaining what happened when he tried to pull the energy out of it.

"Is that what I think it is?"

The duo took turns holding the marble and looking it over. The more they looked at the marble, the more shocked they became. Neither answered but Iskandar pulled out another marble. It was also yellow but had other colors mixed into it as well and seemed less pure.

"This seems to be a pure reality marble. It could probably cause a permanent change that even the counterforce in our dimension could not control or destroy. This is a true treasure that you must keep safe. It also seems to be harder to control and master than ours.

I suggest putting off on using it until much later. At least until you get better at the 5th magic. The 5th true magic should be easier to control than this due to the instability of this marble as well as it not being your own."

Ruler nodded at Anastasia's words. Even if she was a bit of a sheltered princess, she had the tutelage of Viy and could learn much about magic and magecraft that many did not have the same chance to learn.

He took the reality marble back before placing it in his pocket. Ruler looked at Magneto who he knew had been watching from the beginning.

"What did you think of my performance?"

"Pretty good. You will make an excellent addition to Genosha's ranks."

Ruler nodded at the old man's words before having Iskandar and Anastasia return to their cards while he joined Magneto and the other mutants atop the disc. The group continued their hunt for rebels.
