CH 53: Subjugate the Sky

3 Servants appeared on the chariot with Jason and Achilles. They were Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde, and Nightingale. Each looked confused as to why they were present. Jason spoke to Achilles with a coldness in his voice that none of them had ever heard before.

"Achilles. Faster!"

Achilles nodded before pulling on the reigns and urging the horses to move even faster. It seemed like green flames surrounded the chariot for a moment as it shot forward.

"When you all arrive, save as many mutants as possible. If I find out that any of you were slacking, I will not hesitate to kill you to the point that your Saint's Graph will be completely destroyed."

Hyde who wanted to test him was about to rebuke Jason before he noticed the look in his eyes. He saw that Jason was not joking around and truly meant what he just said.

The other 3 nodded their heads at Jason. Although 2 of them did not know what was going on, Achilles did and he completely understood why Jason was so serious. The others understood why in less than 2 minutes.

When they saw what was going on, they could not believe their eyes. Giant robots ranging from 10 meters to over a hundred meters tall were floating over Genosha and raining down attacks on the population. The most frightening was a large 3 headed one where smaller robots were coming out of it.

"Dive, Achilles. And stay low. Don't want you all to get hit by this."

Jason jumped up from the chariot and his wings appeared on his back. He summoned Kusanagi into his left hand as the chariot dived toward the ocean level.

"Brahmastra Kusanagi: The earth belongs to man and the heavens belong to the gods. Let this dragon subjugate the sky between them."

A large amount of magical energy gathered around the sword before entering it. Jason lifted the sword across his left shoulder before swinging it to the right.

Once the blade was swung, it unleashed a slash of an incredible amount of purple magical energy that was covered with purple flames. The energy slash was so large that it could stretch over the entirety of Genosha from end to end.

Achilles and the other Servants watched as the wave of energy traveled over their heads and towards the robots. The blasts cut through all the weaker sentinels until it arrived over the center of the island before detonating in a large blast akin to a small supernova.

This blast covered the entire sky and destroyed every sentinel that was flying above it while releasing a large wave of magical energy. Once the wave expanded out as far as it could, all the energy came rushing back to the center towards a small black spot.

Once anything caught within the initial explosion reached the black spot, it seemed to just disappear into an abyss. This continued on for several seconds until nothing in the sky remained.

Jason looked at the island that he had only called home for a short amount of time. Most of the buildings were destroyed and burning. Many dead bodies could be seen but he was sure that even more were beneath the rubble.

He saw that Achilles and the others had already arrived and were about to find as many survivors as they could but he was not sure how good it would do. He saw that almost the entire island had sentinels over it when he first arrived and that they were raining down attacks from all angles.

He also saw that the mutants did not seem like they had the chance to set up some defensive measures or prepare a counter-attack.

'This was truly a blitzkrieg. There must have been no warning or prior signs. But for this many sentinels to mobilize all at once and two master molds to be deployed, this could not have gone silent. Someone had to know about what was going to happen before the operation occurred. And I need to find that person or those people.'

Jason came out of his thoughts and began flying toward the island. He sensed several magical energy signals approaching while.

'I knew that attack would alert others but I did not expect them to arrive so fast. Doesn't matter. Just means that I will get my explanations sooner.'

Jason ignored the energy signatures and continued toward Genosha. He could not arrive as fast as Achilles so it took him over 5 minutes to reach the island.

Jason arrived to see 10s of mutants inside Florence's barrier. A large nurse made of light and holding a sword above her head was releasing motes of light on the mutants below which was healing them. Achilles and Mr. Hyde kept bringing mutants back to her as much as they could.

'I guess Doc is healing them out there and making sure they are stabilized before bringing them back. I will go to help him.'

Jason turned to see all the figures in the sky but paid them no mind before he went off to find Dr. Jekyll. When he flew over, he saw the Servant had 3 mutants who were stable while it appeared several others had died before he could get to them.

Jekyll turned to see Jason floating above him and gave a weak smile. Jason gave him a solemn nod as he lowered himself to the ground to pick up the mutants in his arms and Jekyll with his tail before bringing them back to Florence.

Jason saw that both Achilles and Hyde were just standing in the barrier so he knew that they must have gotten the last few mutants that survived. He kept them out for Achilles' speed and Hyde's senses.

Jason saw that in total, there were only 78 mutants and Neo that survived. Out of the nearly 17 million mutants that once populated the island, 2/3rds of the entire mutant population of the world, only 79, including himself, had survived.

Jason looked at the figures above with a cold look in his eyes. He had questions for them and was not going to let them leave without his answers.
