Gimme dem stones. I'm moving into an apartment today, so I'll be busy all day. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly. Enjoy the chapter.)

Once the army was situated and the first battle was going to begin, I had Souei remove the fear from the core beasts. They're already being weakened from the food and water they ingest, so why bother making the afraid any longer. The day after the army arrived, I came with Rem and Anna to watch the battle. I arrived early so I can see my mother and anyone else before they went out to fight. We teleported just outside mom's tent via Nova. The knights standing guard outside her tent bowed and weren't surprised by my appearance. I guess they got used to it by now.

"Is my mother inside?" I ask.

"No, Your Highness. She's in a meeting with the generals of the army, and some adventurers." A guard replies.

"Which tent is that meeting in?" I ask

"I'll escort you, Your Highness." The guard says and turns to another knight. "Keep watch until I return from escorting the prince." He says and takes us to another tent. "This is it." He motions towards the entrance of the tent.

"Thanks, you can return to your post." I enter the tent with Nova on my shoulder and Rem and Anna following close behind me.

"Hey, Mom." I say as I enter the room. The room is filled with people standing around a table with a map on top of it. The war room! I need my own war room back at the manor. I doubt I'll ever use it, but you never know.

"Sweetheart, what are you doing here?" She asked and everyone in the room turns their heads to me.

"I thought I would stop by before the first battle against the herd." I say and everyone in the room bows slightly to show respect. "Will you be attacking soon?" I ask as I look over the map.

"Yes, Your Highness. We'll launch our attack after the soldiers have had their breakfast." General Buckmond replies. "It's good to have you with us again, Prince Syrin."

"And it's good to see you again, General." I greet back and turn to my mother. "Is grandmother here?" I ask.

"Yes, her and the other elders are somewhere in the camp." She replies.

Huh, they must be here to deal with the leader of the herd, and any other high ranked beasts.

"Any cool plans, or is the army just rushing in and fighting?" I ask.

"Well, why don't you just sit back and watch what this old man has in store for the foul beasts." General Buckmond says with a toothy grin.

"Oh, so you got some good plans? I can't wait to see them!" I reply with my own toothy grin in return.

"Haha, you'll see a good show, your Highness." He laughs.

"Alright, I won't get in your way then. I hope to see something great, so don't disappoint." I say as I leave the tent.

"Love you, sweetie!" My mother screams behind me.

"Love you too, mom!"

Now to find the old bag of bones that is my grandmother. I'm sure if I follow the creaking sound of her joints then I'll find her soon enough.

"Someone's thinking something disrespectful about me!" I hear from a few tents down. Damn, women really have some sort of sixth sense, no matter how old they are. "Hmm, they just thought it again!"

"Hey, Granny where are you!" I yell and an angry old lady comes barreling out of a nearby tent.

"It was you wasn't it?" She questions me.

"What was me?" I ask.

"Don't play dumb with me!" She exclaims, but then she smiles evilly at me. "You know, because of your new title we haven't had that training session I promised you. Why don't I come to visit Sena and we can start our training?"

"Sure, I always have room in my manor for my dear elderly grandmother." I say with an innocent smile on my face.

"Elderly... ELDERLY!" She exclaims with a livid expression on her face. "When we start your training, I'll show you elderly." She says ominously.

"It's nice to see you again, Syrin." Delilah says as she comes out of the same tent that granny did.

"You as well, Delilah. I'm happy that we're on the same side this time." I greet her happily.

"I am as well. If only your grandmother would drop dead, though. Then I would be truly happy." She says as if it's a shame that granny is still alive.

"You ancient harlot! Don't speak that way in front of my grandson!" Amelia replies. They then start throwing insults at one another.

I duck away and leave the scene quickly. It's fun messing with grandma, but getting in between two women arguing isn't a good idea.

Finally, it's time for the first fight against the army and the beasts. The adventurers are still here as well, but the majority of the army is soldiers and knights of the kingdom. I don't see any foot soldiers at the moment, as every soldier I see is on horseback. Is this a part of the general's plan? The soldiers on horseback make their way to the herd of core beasts, and the mage cavalry fires magic at the herd. The army seems to be keeping their distance at the moment, and just attacking from a safe gap away from the herd.

That doesn't last long as the herd starts mobilizing, and every type of animal you could think of starts swarming towards the cavalry. The beasts are all enhanced by their magic cores, so ever one of them is far bigger than a normal animal. Some have distinct features, like a giant lion with a mane of fire, or a bull with horns of metal. Magic is truly mysterious to be able to make such deadly and beautiful creatures. When the animals start stampeding towards the cavalry, the cavalry start riding in the direction of a close-by mountain range. Are they luring the beasts somewhere?

We follow on horseback in order to watch the battle and trailed behind the beast herd. After they arrived at the mountain, the cavalry changed formation. They were now like a long thin snake moving towards the mountain. When I saw where they were taking the herd, I started to understand the plan General Buckmond came up with. The cavalry led the beasts to a thin mountain pass, and they changed formation in order to fit through the pass.

All along the higher areas of the pass is every foot soldier I didn't see back at the camp. The mages are prepared to fire any magic they have when the herd arrives in range. The fighters were all given these giant bows and arrows. If these people weren't enhanced by battle energy, then I'm sure that even 5 men wouldn't be able to pull the bowstring of these monsters. They all took aim and waited for the moment the herd enters the mountain pass. The General was right, this is going to be interesting to watch!
