You appear in a forest, and you hear a rustling in the trees all around. You spin around in a panic, as you don't know which way to run. A pack of wolves appear in front of you, and circles around you. They look at you like your their next meal, and you very well might be. A system notification appears in front of you as they keep circle. A blue window appears and says.
{If you wish to survive this situation then deposit all of your power stones into the system. Doing so will enhance your strength enough to at least run from the wolves.}
What do you do? Enjoy that chap as always!)
"Huh, I think your human half is quite good looking, so don't listen to those that can't see just how beautiful you really are." I say and she looks at me funny.
"You only say that since your a human. You probably think my snake half is disgusting." She replies.
"No." I shake my head. "I won't lie to you and say that it's attractive to me, but it's definitely not disgusting. Your scales are actually quite beautiful." I complement.
"Thanks." She murmurs in a tiny voice and looks away from me with a blush on her face.
I turn my attention back to the fighting beasts and see that the fight is coming to an end. The spider is only standing on four legs and has lost far to much blood to go on. Due to the crocodile's tough exterior, the bear has completely given up on attacking it normally, so he's been slowly cooking the crocodile alive with his fire attacks.
"YOU FILTHY BIRD!" The spider yells as the owl swoops down one final time.
In its clawed feet is one of the severed legs of the spider. As the owl closed in on the spider, it tilted the spear-like leg into position. The spider's reaction time has slowed because of the blood loss and didn't have the reflexes to dodge this last attack. When the owl got into range, it thrust the spear-like severed leg out. The leg pierces through one of the spiders many eyes with enough force to come out through the bottom of its body. The spider's body shook for a moment and then slumped over dead on the floor.
As this was happening, The smell of cooked meat floated in the air. The crocodile has started to smoke from the barrage of fire attacks. Its movement has slowed do to its muscles and tendons being cooked. After a short while, the crocodile stopped moving and simply stood in place. A quick check later, and they found that the crocodile died on its feet. Huh, it was roasted in place and stuck standing there. That's kind of gross. I would eat some crocodile meat, but it wasn't gutted properly before it was roasted.
Mia eyes her dead subordinates with a sad and dejected look.
"Don't feel bad for them." I say drawing her attention. "They made the choice to stand against you. One thing I've learned about being a leader is that you can't take responsibility for the choices of others. They knew the risk they were taking when they betrayed you, and yet they still did it."
"Maybe if I was..."
"A better leader?" I finish her sentence and she nods in my direction. "Everyone has an opinion on something, Mia. No matter how great of a leader you are, somebody is going to disagree with you or the way you do things. If you had chosen to not send reinforcement and attacked me this whole situation would have turned out differently. The spider and the crocodile would've praised you, while the bear and owl would have disagreed. I don't know if they would rebel like the spider and crocodile, but they would've definitely been unhappy with you. Now, tell me how would a better leader keep both sides happy?" I ask.
"I don't know." She answers.
"You don't know because it's impossible to do." I say as the bear and owl come over to us.
"The human is correct, Your Excellency." The owl says as it lands before us. "Don't blame yourself for the loss of these traitors."
"Yes, they aren't worth it." The bear comments.
"Well, I guess I should fully introduce myself." I say drawing everyone's attention. "I'm Syrin Fortis. The Crowned Prince of the Fortis Kingdom."
"Huh? Aren't we fighting the Fortis Kingdom?" The bear asks with a confused expression.
"Yes, we are." The owl reply's as it glares threateningly at me. Mia turns to me with betrayal written all over her face.
"Yeah, I originally came here to kill the ruler of the herd along with any subordinates." I say casually and Mia's look of betrayal thickens. "But I've changed my mind."
"Changed your mind?" Mia asks with disbelief and anger starts to appear in her voice.
"Yeah, I saw that you're pretty nice, so I won't hurt you, as long as you don't threaten the Fortis Kingdom and its people," I say casually with a smile on my face.
"What makes you think that you could possibly hurt me?" Mia says with a menacing look.
"Well, I wouldn't be able to put a scratch on you. I'm not nearly strong enough." I shrug and point at Souei. "He would be the one to fight if we had too."
The three beasts looked at Souei with contempt, as they couldn't sense any power from him. They then turned back to me and just stared at me like I'm an idiot.
"We should probably go and assist the herd, Your excellency." The owl says, ignoring me and Souei completely.
"Yes, let's move quickly." Mia agreed and turned her back to me.
The three of them took off in the direction of the herd at incredible speed.
"Souei, how is the battle been going while we were away?" I ask.
"The herd is almost completely exterminated. Your grandmother and Delilah have already killed the lightning wolf. It was turned into a porcupine of fire and water. The other elders took care of the wolf pack easily as well. The beasts at the mountain pass are almost all dead. I would say that there's around 500 left, and that number is dropping very fast. The cavalry that has entered the mountain pass was chased by some beasts that managed to breakthrough as well."
"Hmm, what happened to them?" I ask.
"They made it to a fort on the other side of the mountain. They've been picking off the beasts that followed them from the high walls of the fort for a while now." He replies.
"How many beasts are left at the fort?" I ask.
"A few hundred." He answers.
"Then this whole mess is pretty much over and done. We should probably stop them before they see what's left of their subordinates. They may have an adverse reaction to the site of their dead comrades." I say and Souei nods.
Souei teleports me into the path of Mia and her subordinates. As we appear in front of them, the three beasts come to a halt.
"You may not want to go in that direction." I say casually.
"And why wouldn't we?" Mia asks with a little sass in her tone.
"Well, I don't want to lie to you, so I'll just say it straight. Your forces have already been decimated. There isn't even a thousand of them left altogether. Oh, and that lightning wolf is dead as well. Including its entire pack."
