Solitude

It is midnight as I covet some silence

Skimming books by the fire in the recess

Some loving eyes then peeped under the pages

Which told far greater stories than what I've read

My lovely furball sprung up and wanted cuddles

Her brown coat crimsoned more with the burning blaze

Her tail wags as she joyously licked my face

She stared at me and oh boy! I am dazed!

To you I share my solitude
