The Christmas Party ; The Conclusion

Mark and Alice spent the last few minutes bickering because of the jigsaw puzzle. Alice really isn't fond of activities like that because she thinks it's boring.

"It's finally finished!" Alice shouted happily.

"Already?" the student gasped. "It's only been ten minutes?!"

"Yeah, it's actually easy. I'm glad we chose this Winnie the Pooh puzzle, it's colorful and detailed." Mark chuckled.

"I still think it's childish that we chose Winnie the Pooh by the way. I never liked him, even as a kid." Alice complained.

"Stop spattering nonsense and let's go," Mark glared at her.

"You may proceed to the next room." Mark and Alice rushed to the next room. They saw another student but this time there were several small tables in the room.

"Hello this is challenge number two, all you have to do is to eat this bowl of soup. It's hot, by the way so be careful."

"That's all? I'll do it," Mark said confidently.

"You better hurry," Alice merely grunted, and to her and the student's surprise, Mark gobbled up the whole soup in less than a minute!

Mark coughed "Man that's hot!"

"What are you?" Alice laughed.

"You finished the challenge you may proceed to the last room," the student said in awe.

They dashed to the last room, when they entered it, they saw many cups. "Welcome to the final challenge, all you must do is to stack these cups into a pyramid. Good luck!"

"Let's do this! For the win!" Alice cheered.

"Right," Mark nodded.

Meanwhile back at the quadrangle, everyone is just waiting for the pairs to arrive. The emcee was starting to call random people from the crowd to dance on stage or sing.

"I wonder how Alice and Mark are doing?" Matthew wondered out loud.

"They're probably fighting," Josh chuckled.

"Hey, I still think they'd win. I think you're forgetting that they're both inhuman." Vincent laughed.

"They have to win," Lance popped out from behind them.

"Why?" they asked in unison.

"If they win then Mia might realize that Mark and Alice are a great team, it might also hit her that they're a great match so that she'd leave Mark alone." he explained.

"Oh right, I almost forgot that Mia confessed to Mark." Josh sighed in disbelief of how things happened this quickly.

"Wait, didn't Alice say that she has something planned for Mark and Mia today?" Vincent asked.

This caused most of them to slap their foreheads "Oh darn, sometimes I just want to slap Alice with the truth and tell her straight that Mark likes her. On the other hand, Mark is still too stubborn to admit things himself," Matthew chuckled.

"Well, let's hope for the best." Josh emitted.

Only one more cup till they're done, Alice thought enthusiastically. She stood on her tiptoes to place the final cup when suddenly her eyes widened in surprise when she was able to reach it easily, she looked behind her and she saw Mark lifting her. He had a smug grin plastered on his face.

Alice isn't really short, she's actually one of the tall girls but the stacked cups were high and Mark is a really tall guy, so he put his height to good use.

"Just put me down, I know you're strong and taller so no need to rub it in my face." she grumbled.

"Whatever," he said in amusement.

They went outside the room to return back to the stage, once they exited the room they saw the Tiffany and Gerald's team. They just arrived at the third floor, Tiffany glared at Alice while the latter just had a smug grin on her face.

"See ya," Alice laughed as she pulled Mark with her.

When they arrived back at the stage, their teachers were surprised. "It has only been thirty-seven minutes," they gasped.

"Well that took longer than expected," Alice shuddered.

"I thought we could do better," Mark said with a hint of disappointment.

"Anyway teacher, can you please remove the handcuffs?"

Once the cuffs were removed Alice and Mark left the stage after complaining about how hungry they both were and telling them to call them for the next round.

"That was inhuman of both of them, the time it took for Dale and their PE teacher was forty minutes." one of their teachers gasped. From the other side of the court, the guys were all laughing.

"Such idiots, they're unaware of how good they did." Josh snickered.

"What do you expect? That's Mark and Alice to you," Lance chimed in,.

After a few minutes the second team arrived, Gerald and Tiffany's team. The rest arrived afterward. The teachers posted the time taken for each team.

Team 1 37 minutes

Team 2 1 hour 2 minutes

Team 3 1 hour 55 minutes

Team 4 2 hours 3 minutes

Team 5 2 hours 20 minutes

Alice, Mark and the others stared at the results. "Wow, check out the gap." Matthew gasped.

"I thought Tiffany and I could catch up but the basketball part was really hard," Gerald sulked.

"It wasn't challenging at all," Mark sighed.

"Nothing's ever difficult whenever you and Alice are together, you're both inhuman." Alex pointed out.

Soon it was time for the final round. The emcee announced that the final challenge was going to be a Race for the Flag contest. They will be using the court so they told the students to move out of the court to give way to the players. All they have to do is to take the flag which will be in the middle of the court.

- Alice (3rd year) vs. Keith (4th year)

- Mark (3rd year) vs. Gerald (3rd year)

- Pauleen (1st year) vs. Tiffany (3rd year)

"This is so awesome! I'm facing an upperclassman!" Alice cheered in delight.

"This is so wrong, why did they let me face someone from a lower year? Do they think I'm weak?!" Tiffany fumed.

"Maybe, just win Tiffy. I wanna fight you, there will be no point if we don't end up battling it out on the finals." Alice smirked.

"Match one Alice vs. Keith!"

Alice and her opponent stayed at opposite sides of the court. After the go signal, they both started running as fast as they could, both of them were near the center. They were about to bump into each other but Alice has something planned. Just before they were about to collide, Alice stepped to the side and stepped behind Keith.

Since Keith was really fast he wasn't able to control his speed so when he stopped and turned around, Alice already had the flag.

"Nice game Keith, you're a really fast runner." Alice smiled.

"Thanks, good luck Alice." Keith smiled back. "I hope you win,"

The second game was Mark and Gerald since Mark was a faster runner he won easily, then for Tiffany and Pauleen, Tiffany won.

The final battle was an all-out junior's battle. It was also weird that all three finalists came from the same class. "Hey Mark, do me a favor and forfeit, I wanna face Tiffy." Alice said.

"No way, I'm here to win." Mark chuckled.

"Fine, I guess I'll have to beat you too." Alice snorted.

"Final game. Ready… Set… Go!"

They all ran, Alice was faster than Tiffany so they had a gap.

"Damn it, let me win!" Alice shouted.

"I don't think so flea!" Mark shouted back.

Mark dove for the flag and he reached out his arm, Alice did the same, they were about to reach the flag when something unexpected happened. Their foreheads collided and they landed on the flag, the entire audience laughed.

Alice sat up and she rubbed her forehead, Mark stayed lying down as he massaged his sore forehead as well. Just then Tiffany got in between them and she took the flag.

"Our winner is Tiffany!" the announcer yelled.

Alice and Mark stood up. "Wait I got the flag!" Alice exclaimed.

"No way I landed on it!" Mark complained.

"But I took the flag first." Tiffany stuck her tongue out.

Alice and Mark sank. "This is so wrong," they seethed. Their friends approached them to comfort the two.

"At least you made the audience happy," Josh chuckled.

"This sucks," Alice sulked.

"Mark are you okay? Does your head hurt?" Mia asked as she approached him.

Alice suddenly smiled. "Oh Mia and Mark, you should go to the rooftop later, it's reserved. You can watch the fireworks there." Alice said before she left.

"I can't wait," Mia smiled.

"Y-yeah, me too." Mark faked a smile

"Alice is such an idiot," Gerald said in dismay.

"Agreed," the boys said together

Alice was about to go to the rooftop when someone calls her attention. "Hey Alice!" Tiffany cheerfully greeted. Alice looked around then pointed herself.

"Me?" she asked,

"I really enjoyed the game, I give up for a while. I won't bother you anymore but don't get the wrong idea I still love Mark but since I beat you I'm kinda satisfied for now," Tiffany smiled.

"Well you didn't exactly beat me," Alice grunted.

"Anyway let's be friends for now Alice."

"Fine," Alice agreed.

"Then I'll see you around." Tiffany waved as Alice left.

Alice headed for the rooftop and looked around. Everything was just as perfect as she fixed the place the day before. There was a table in the middle with a white tablecloth and it had a candle in the middle. There were Christmas lights hanging around and two chairs for the love birds she invited,

"Alice?" she heard "Why are you here?"

Alice turned to see who it was "Hi, Jayne and Sarah." she greeted. "I just fixed a romantic date for Mia and Mark," she then saw her wristwatch. "Oh it's almost six, come on you two we'll be late." she then dashed downstairs.

"Rumours are true she is dense," Jayne concluded while Sarah nodded in agreement.
