Nightwing is in love~

Nightwing's POV

The chatter began right after Percy went into her room and closed the door.

"I don't trust her"

"Don't judge so soon, she might be a good person."

"Did you noticed the symbol on her shoulder?"

"And why did she call Wonder Woman her cousin?

"What about that strange language she used to communicate with Wonder Woman?

"Enough!" Nightwing said, cutting off the murmuring. "Look, we can't just judge her by what we have found out about her in the files, do you not remember what Aquaman had said about 'things are not always what it seems, especially when it comes to her'?" he sighed, "I-I'm not saying that she isn't a mysterious person, but let's cut her some slack, after all, she's new, everyone's guarded on their first day."

KF smirked, "Wow, never thought that I will live to see Nightwing going soft on a suspected criminal!" Nightwing blinked at his best friend.

Artemis joined in: "Yeah, but I suppose it's possible, she is a girl and a really cute one too. Do you have a thing for her already, Boy Wonder?" Nightwing chocked and his face heated up immediately.

The rest laughed and Nightwing couldn't help but join in. Did he really have a thing for her already? Maybe, will see how it goes and where Fates leads us.

Third Person POV

They were surprised to find Riptide in the training room at 4:00 in the morning, hacking away at a dummy with a practice sword. Percy didn't seem to notice them as they approached and stood 6 feet from her. After about 20 more minutes, Superboy cleared his throat, getting the young heroine's attention.

"Oh, hey, guys," Percy said, grabbing a towel from the nearest bench and dabbed her face, "What's up?"

"We are just wondering where you are since your room is empty...So, you fight with a sword?" Artemis said then quickly changed the topic.

Percy nodded, "I usually do, but now I fight with two daggers." she gestured to the daggers on her belt.

"Why switch to daggers?" Percy's expression darkened.

"...to honor a friend..." The others went silent. Whoever this friend is or was, he or she must have been really close to Percy. They didn't want to ask anymore, this was clearly a sour topic.

"So Riptide, do you have any powers? Tell us more about yourself." Megan asked, gesturing for Percy to follow them into the living room.

"Yes, I do have powers. I can control the water and cause earthquakes." Percy answered truthfully. To prove herself, she concentrated on the water vapors in the air and gathered them to form a sphere in mid-air, Percy made a closing gestured with her hand and the sphere hardened into ice then shattered, disappearing into thin air again.

"Wow, that was amazing!" Megan exclaimed happily. Wally on the other hand only huffed in response.

"What about earthquakes?" Superboy asked. Percy smiled and stood up.

"You guys better hold on to something..." She concentrated again and extended her hand. The floor beneath them trembled and shacked. Wally stumbled and fall on his butt.

"Oww..."

"Oh shut it, Bay watch!" Artemis said then turned back to Percy, " That was amazing!"

"That was truly something." said a new voice. Percy turned and saw Nightwing at the doorway.

"Thanks!" Percy beamed at him. Since she wasn't wearing her mask, her sea-green eyes were visibly shinning at them.

There was a moment of silence before Percy said: "I heard from Aquaman that his protege is on the team? Where is he?"

" That's Aqualad, we call him Kaldur, he is currently at Atlantis visiting his family," Nightwing explained. "He should be back today..."

As if on cue, the computer announced the arrival from Atlantis. Kaldur had arrived. The others jumped up to meet him and Percy follow them.

"Hey Kaldur, how was your visit?" Wally asked, running ahead to meet his teammate.

The young Atlantean only smiled and said in a calm voice, " It has been amazing..." Then he noticed Percy and his eyes widened.

"Prin-"

"Percy! It's Percy, and you are Kaldur right?" The Atlantean nodded, his eyes still as large as that of a goldfish. Percy gave him a look and a silent conversation passed between them. Finally, Percy looked up and smiled like nothing had happened

The others raised an eyebrow at this but said nothing. something fishy was clearly going on here. Kaldur seems to know this girl very well. They made a mental note to ask their leader about this later. Right now it's training time.

"Riptide, it's training time, are you coming?" Nightwing asked. Kaldur chocked, everyone turned to him.

"Riptide?" He turns to Percy, "Really?"

Percy huffed and crossed her arms, "What? That's the best I can think of, I don't care if that name was taken." Kaldur raised his hands in defeat.

"Okay...so are you coming?" Artemis asked, still very confused at the two.

"Yeah sure, I wanna see how you guys fight...
