Nalla's Point Of View
"Shut up!" Sammi whacked Elisa across her head, Elisa hissing back.
"Is everyone okay?" Lyla asked, concern covered in her voice as she closed the door behind her.
I tweeted reassuringly. "Elisa's just being annoying."
Lyla walked slowly up the stairs and over to her bed and gently set Nick down. She wiped away some sweat from her forehead. "Nick, stay put sweetie. I'm gonna go get you some ice." Lyla told Nick who nodded.
"Your limp?" I asked, flying over to him.
"He pushed himself too hard." Ben sat on the floor next to the bed.
I glared at him. "You know your limits, why'd you go passed them?" I demanded. They need a scolding once in awhile. Especially when they are getting hurt.
"I was having so much fun!" Nick whined, defending himself.
I looked over at Ben.
He nodded. "I haven't seen him that happy in a long time."
I softened up a bit. "Well, just be careful next time. Know when to take it easy." I told him, walking away on the bed.
Nick's eyes widened, probably surprised I wasn't yelling at him.
But he regained his face and nodded. "Sorry." He apologized.
"You're okay." I reassured him, nodding once.
"Okay." Lyla breathed, carrying a towel and a bag of ice.
Nick moves his front right leg out in front of him the best he could. It wasn't too hard for him; he's really flexible.
"Good boy." Lyla mumbled as she placed the towel over his leg and then the bag of ice.
Nick's tail pounded against the bed as he licked Lyla's face. "Did you hear that Nalla? I'm a good boy!" He announced excitedly.
I sighed and smiled fondly. "Dogs."
We all watched Lyla walk to the kitchen to get a drink of water. Jameson hopped after her, pausing each time before jumping down each step.
"I feel bad." Ben said aloud.
We all looked over at him, waiting for an answer.
"Lyla had to carry Nick a couple of blocks to get back here. I still can't believe she did it." Ben explained. "I wish I could've helped."
"She's really something." Peter sighed, climbing onto Ben's head.
Ben only sighed.
The sound of glass shattering and a thump erupted from the kitchen.
"Jameson!" Lyla screeched.
Ben ran into the kitchen, Peter holding on for his dear life. I flew as fast as I could.
Elisa and Sammi jumped onto the kitchen counter.
"What the-?" I flew to a stop and took the scene in.
"What? What's wrong?" Nick called out, not able to stand up.
Lyla was on the ground, clutching Jameson tightly to herself, both of their eyes wide.
I looked at the floor and noticed shattered pieces of glass from a cup, scattered across the floor.
And a shard of glass was poking out of Lyla's foot.
"What happened!" Sammi yelled, not moving, too shocked like most of us.
I was lost for words.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Jameson sobbed, burying his face into Lyla's shirt.
Lyla searched through Jameson's fur, looking for any glass.
"Oh good." Lyla sighed when she found nothing. She tried getting up but groaned. Lyla looked at her foot. "Oh bad."
She reached her hand towards it and slowly pulled it out. She winced slightly, but other than that, she was fine.
"Ok." She took a deep breath. Lyla got up and avoided the glass. I noticed that her foot was bleeding a little.
But even after that, she walked to her bed and sat down next to Nick.
"Jameson, What happened?" I asked him slowly, all of us settling near Lyla's bed.
"Well, I was waiting right behind her so she could pick me up. And then I surprised her I guess, so she dropped her glass." Jameson sniffed, burying himself against Lyla's sweatshirt.
Lyla giggled softly. "I missed you too Jameson."
Jameson hiccupped.
"Woah. You growing James?" Lyla smiled and held up Jameson in front of her, smiling. Lyla's smile dropped. "Were you, crying James?" Lyla asked, slightly concerned.
She must've seen his tears or something.
"I missed you!" Jameson sobbed, kicking his feet lighty
Ok, I'm really worried now.
Jameson, a 21 year old.....
Is crying a lot.
Did something happen that he hasn't told us about?
Lyla's Point Of View
"My child!" I cried out in over-dramatic despair. "Why are you crying?"
Jameson sniffed and hurried himself against me even further.
"Aww." I chuckled. "It's alright. I know what to do."
I set Jameson down on the bed,but immediately picked him up again. Images of Jameson running after me as I left flashed in my head.
So I took him with me as I made a bag of popcorn in the kitchen. While it popped, I sweeped all the glass shards and threw them away.
I poured the popcorn in a bowl and went back to the others who had stayed on my bed with Nick.
"Alrighty." I sighed as I plopped down with my laptop, popcorn, and Jameson.
I set the bowl down and Elisa jumped into the bowl, sending popcorn everywhere.
"Elisa!" I laughed and plucked a piece of popcorn from her fur. Elisa at e piece of popcorn for herself.
Elisa ate a piece of popcorn himself.
I sighed with a smile. "Here you go Nicky." I held out a couple of pieces of popcorn on the palm of my hand, and held it out in front of him.
He carefully ate the popcorn off my hand.
I ruffled the top of his head.
I continued to feed the rest of them, scratching them or petting their fur.
Sammi climbed onto my lap, next to Jameson.
"How you feeling Nick?" I asked him.
He didn't seem to be in any discomfort anymore. Hopefully his leg will be better tomorrow.
Let's see, is there anything else that I have for everyone?
I smiled.
I do.
So I picked up both Sammi and Jameson and made my way to the last bag.
3 brushes were inside. I grabbed those.
I sat back down next to everyone. Taking the smaller brush, I started brushing Jameson's fur, humming softly as I did so.
I did this with everyone, except Nalla. I made sure each of her feathers were in place and I stroked her as well. She seemed just as happy.
"There. You're all soft now!" I announced proudly, feeling all of their fur.
Now, the movie.
I pulled up the Netflix account Dylan and I share.
I clicked on the movie To All The Boys I Loved Before
"You guys will like this movie. I think." I told them excitedly.
Peter squeaked and ran over to the computer, sitting on top of it.
I laughed. "You must be excited."
So for the next hour or two, we all watched the movie and ate popcorn.
"Aww." I sighed as the movie ended. "I really like that movie."
I looked over to everyone else. They seemed to like it as well.
Actually, Sammi is sleeping in my arms. I don't even know if she even knows what the movie was called.
I glanced over at the clock.
11:06 pm
I sighed.
Really, I'm not tired at all. I'm a night owl. But I gotta wake up early for work tomorrow. And I'm planning on taking the dogs for a walk before I leave.
"Alright guys. Are you ready for bed?" I asked them all with a smile.
Ben yawned in response.
"I'll take that as a yes."
Carefully, I moved Sammi off of my lap and sat her down on my bed. She can sleep there for the night.
I picked up the now empty bowl and brought it to the kitchen and placed it in the sink.
"Jameson," I told the bunny as I walked back to my bed. "I'm going to set you down on the bed. I'll be right back. I'm only going to change into my pajamas. Ok?"
Jameson squeaked and titled his head as he watched me from my bed.
I walked away and grabbed a pair of pajamas. Then I went to the bathroom and changed, brushed my teeth, and washed my face.
When I opened the door, I yelped in surprise.
There, on the floor, Jameson sat there, looking up at me.
He squeaked and jumped on top of my foot and hugged it.
"Aww." I sighed and picked him up.
I walked up the stairs with a smile on my face.
"Let's see." I mumbled to myself.
Sammi and Elisa were sharing the pillow next to mine. Nick was on the other side of the bed opposite of where I sleep.
Ben can fit next to Nick. Yeah, there's plenty of room.
"Come on Ben." I patted the empty bed spot next to Nick. "Up you go."
Ben jumped up on the bed.
"Good boy." I praised.
Nalla flew over to her cage and made himself at home, snuggled up with her tiny bird toy.
I smiled and picked up Peter.
"You guys going to be okay over here? I'm going to be right over there." I pointed to my bed from where I was standing next to their cages.
I sat Peter in his cage and he settled down in no time.
Jameson however, was quite anxious. He kept hopping around, keeping eye contact with me.
I frowned, not knowing what to do.
Peter squeaked and then walked inside of Jameson's cage.
Jameson laid down immediately, Peter settled down next to him. Then they both squeaked happily at me.
I smiled and laid their toys next to them both.
On my way to my bed, I picked up Nick's toy, for he is unable to get it himself. I set his hedgehog next to him. He panted with his tongue hanging out, looking happy.
I took off the now melted ice and went downstairs to clean it up.
"There we go." I sighed as I made my way back up the stairs.
I set my alarm for 5 in the morning.
Half an hour coffee time. Half an hour walk. Half an hour get ready time. Then get to the restaurant. Perfect.
I turned off all the lights in my house and turned on the fan next to my bed.
Fun fact of the day: I can't sleep in silence. I guess you could say silence bothers me. It's a very faint sound, you could barely hear it actually. But it is enough in my opinion.
I stretched and then laid down in my bed, wrapping myself in my covers.
Elisa was laying down closest to me. I looked over at her and saw her hugging her little fish, and a smile on her face.
I smiled as well.
I'm so glad that I went to the pet store. I'm so glad I met these wonderful pets.
I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
I fell asleep happy for the first time in a while.
That was the first time in months when I went to bed without cutting myself first.
