Lyla's Point Of View
My nose twitched as eyes remained closed.
Is that,
Coffee?
I opened my eyes slowly and tried to sit up.
I didn't get far.
Ben was laid across my legs and Jameson snuggling into my side.
I slowly pulled my feet towards me until Ben was no longer an obstacle, not that the adorable puppy was one. It was just that I needed legs to walk.
Now Jameson.
I watched how his nose moved with each breath he took. It was so tiny, like a bunny.
I guess he is a bunny.
I rubbed his bunny ears slowly between my fingers. A lazy smile appeared on his lips instantly.
I grabbed a pillow and carefully wrapped Jameson's arms around it as I moved away from him, bumping into Nalla slightly.
"Sorry." I whispered to Nalla.
She mumbled something in her sleep and rolled over.
I smiled fondly.
How adorable.
Now, that coffee smell.
Climbing over the bodies of the boys, I made my way to the stairs.
That's where I saw Elisa downstairs in the kitchen, sitting on the countertop. She looked up at me with a huge smile when she noticed me.
A tail swayed back and forth from underneath her.
I made my way downstairs, sensing Elisa's eyes on me the whole time.
I kept my eyes on the steps as I went downstairs, knowing I would trip if I didn't watch my own feet.
Just as I was about to look up, Elisa had hugged me.
"Good Morning Lyla." She mumbled into my hair as she lifted me up and sat me on the countertop.
"Good morning Elisa." I flicked the bell on her collar.
She giggled.
Then the coffee maker beeped.
"How did you make coffee?" I asked him, pointing to the cup.
"Lyla," Elisa picked up the creamer and poured some into the cup. "I watched you make coffee everyday for the past year." She handed me the cup. "I think I could do it with my eyes closed."
I smiled and smelled the coffee before taking a sip.
Elisa chuckled. "Dork." She teased before looking up at the stairs.
There came Nalla, her hair a giant mess and her mouth opened as she yawned.
"Good morning Tweety." I welcomed, taking a gulp of the coffee.
Nalla smiled shyly. "Good Morning Lyla." She welcomed me.
I saw Nick sit up in bed and look around.
"Lyla?" I heard his faint voice as I watched him look for me upstairs.
"I'm down here Nick." I called out loud enough for him to hear me, but not to wake the others.
He and I made eye contact through the glass and I saw him smile, causing me to smile as well.
Nick grabbed a blanket on the way down and wrapped himself in it, looking freaking adorable.
After Nalla and Nick had gathered around Elisa and I, we made short conversation.
"Did you all sleep well?" I rubbed my eyes, trying to wake up.
Nick nodded, wide awake. Nalla followed as well, but much more tiredly.
I smiled and swayed slightly as I felt drowsy ness fall upon me.
Nalla got up from her chair and walked towards me with open arms.
I leaned into her and she picked me up and laid me on the couch.
I fell asleep quickly.
____
I crinkled my nose.
There was really cold air being blown on in.
What's going on?
"Sammi, are you waking her up?" Nalla called from a distance away.
I heard a scoff.
"Be patient, geez." Sammi who sat right next to me, responded.
That's when the air returned.
It was Sammi.
I opened my eyes and was met with a gummy smile.
"Good morning again." She welcomed me and left me by myself.
While I rubbed my eyes, someone hugged me.
I made an "oh." kind of sound.
"Good morning Princess." Ben announced, showing off his heart shaped smile.
I smiled as well.
"Good morning Ben." I hugged him as well.
"Lyla." Someone else tugged at my arm.
I looked over and saw Jameson, his hair pointing in all different angles.
"Hi Jamie."
"Come on." Jameson pulled my arm slightly. "Nalla made breakfast."
I looked over at the kitchen and saw a mountain of pancakes somehow balancing on top of each other on one plate.
"How?" I whispered as Jameson pulled me to my feet and sat me down on a stool.
"Breakfast," Nalla put two pancakes on a plate for me. "Is," She scooted a new cup of coffee in front of me. "Served." She crossed her arms and smiled at me proudly.
~~~
"Do we have to leave?" Sammi whined as I wrapped my black scarf around Peter's neck.
"Yes." I glanced over at her as I grabbed a hat from a pile. "We need a lot of groceries and clothes for you guys." I spoke as I adjusted Jameson's winter hat so that his bunny ears were hidden.
Then I walked over to Elisa and flicked her whiskers. "We need to do something about these."
She cringed away from me.
I saw a pained expression on her face.
"Oh." I gasped. "Did I do something wrong?"
"My whiskers are sensitive." Elisa mumbled, rubbing them against her cheeks.
"I'm really sorry baby." I pulled her in for a hug. "Forgive me?"
"Of course." Elisa smiled, her normal personality returning. "And watch this."
Her whispers retreated into her skin.
"Woah." My eyes widened. "That's so cool." I turned to Sammi. "Can you do that too?" I asked with my mouth opened in awe.
"I don't want to." Sammi told me with an emotionless face.
I nodded. "Ok."
"Let's go already!" Ben shouted.
